Chapter 5: Ussop.

Syrup Village.

Under the ramp of this peaceful village, a bloody fight was quitely arranged.

Only a minority of residents such as Ussop and his three little friends, Kaya and some of her butlers.

No one had any idea about this upcoming danger.

Fortunately, it was prematurely stifled by a passing-by friendly pirate group, and the battle was quickly limited on the shore.

"Gulp... Won't you help your companions?"

Ussop said while gulping, as he saw Zoro's body getting wounded continuously under Kuro silent footsteps and sneaky attacks that seems to come out of nowhere.

Blood splattered everywhere...

Kaya covered her mouth, as she couldn't watch anymore.

Nami looked at Luffy, but seeing him unmovable, she could only sigh helplessly.

It's been seven days since their last encounter with Buggy.

Three days ago, they came to this village, and get along with Ussop.

After these three days of familiarity, Kuro's conspiracy came to light.

Therefore, Luffy decided lending a hand, and Zoro insisted to took over the fight.

Zoro who got more stronger after Buggy's setback, didn't disappoint, and easily took down the whole Black Pirates, sadly, after Kuro appeared, Zoro was pushed to a bloody outcome.

Which lead to the current ordeal.

Nami looked at the battered Zoro with some pity.

Frankly speaking, Zoro was very powerful. At least Nami had never seen a strong man such as Zoro before in her numerous travels.

Through watching his battle against a whole pirate group, she had a clear understanding of his power.

He was even at the same level as Arlong cadres, and approaching Arlong's level.

That's ten times stronger than normal human.

It's scary to think about it.

And that's while he is still injured.

Unfortunately, after meeting Luffy and witnessed the fist that was similar to an active volcano, Zoro could only described as a younger brother, the same for Arlong.

After all, the punch that changed the terrain ain't something humans can do.

Luffy brows raised, as his eyes showed surprise.

Nami asked hurriedly.

"What's wrong?"

Luffy smiled happily.

"He didn't disappoint me. He already adapted to Kuro's speed, and even his Swordsmanship seems to advance towards a higher rank."

Nami eyes widened in surprise. The same for Ussop and Kaya.

"Is that even possible?!"

Soon they got their answer. Zoro who was soaked in blood, suddenly seems to change.

His breathing become deep, and his eyes shone with beastly intent.

The moment Kuro appeared in front of him, Zoro three swords already cut through towards that place as if predicted.

With a fierce tone, he called the name of his sword move.

"Oni Giri..."

Kuro's heart clenched in fear, as he used all his strength, hoping for an opportunity to escape this deadly attack.

Yet,

Kuro didn't even have a chance to avoid, as his body was divided into three parts, along with the ground beneath him.

His internal organs mixed with blood splutterd all over, as his breath started fading away.

His eyes were wide, full of fear and ignorance.

Until his death, he didn't understand how the guy that he was suppressed at will, suddenly exploded with power and speed several times the original.

'Cutting iron state. It seems that he was stimulated by my incomprehensible power.'

'His domineering reserves increased. As expected. Although he can't use it actively, the passive domineering already tripled his original power, plus the iron cutting stage. His power is already excellent in the first half of grand line.''

Luffy thought, as he caught Zoro looking at him with a grateful expression.

After all, if Luffy interrupted his fight, he would have lost this chance to grow stronger.

Luffy nodded in understanding.

Nami watched their interaction and seems to understand something.

Her eyes shined with admiration.

Ussop praised loudly. He was shocked by Zoro determination to win and unyielding will.

"I also wants to become a brave and determined sea warrior!"

Ussop clenched his fist. Stealing a look at Kaya that was still in stupor, while muttering.

"Unbelievable..."

Ussop judged that it was time to start his journey towards the vast sea.

He looked at Luffy, as he said.

"I've made up my mind. As expected, a man should go to the sea to chase his dreams. Therefore, I'm going to leave the village, and become a pirate.

Do you mind if I join you?"

"Nah, you are welcome dude."

Kaya looked at Ussop with admiration, at the same time, she decided to reward these pirates that saved her life.

Gazing over the small wooden ship, she already decided what kind of reward will she offer.

Nami looted the pirate ship and gained a lot of wealth.

Zoro slept on the ground, as his body started healing gradually.

Kaya called her butlers, and arranged for a big feast, as a thanks for their noble actions.

...

The next day.

Luffy and his crew stood in the dock, admiring their first full-sized ship.

A caravel with a white sheep head.

This design invoked a lot of feelings and memories inside Luffy's heart.

"Going Merry."

Knowing that such a partner will ended up burning in the middle of the journey, Luffy felt super upset.

"Everything needed for sailing is already loaded."

Kaya looked at the upset looking Luffy, as she asked in embarrassment.

"Mr. Luffy. Is my gift not to your liking?"

"Hmm? No, I just thought about something. The boat is great. I will surely took care of it. specially that bow, it's so cool. From now on, it's my special seat."

Nami and the others also expressed their thanks and gratitude.

Kaya seeing that he wasn't perfunctory, she smiled in relief.

'System. Is there a way for Going Merry to get some inheritance?'

<As long as the spirit awakened, it's feasible.>

Luffy finally sighed in relief, as his smile grew wider.

'Sky Island. Is the time the ship will be strengthened.'

Luffy took an oath, as he boarded the ship.

As for the butler Merry who was spewing all kind of info, let's ignore it.

The black pirate flag with white skull, crossed bones and the familiar straw hat fluttered above the ship.

The white canvas were also painted by the same symbol.

"Finally, we look like pirates."

Nami joked from the side.

Zoro and Ussop nodded in affirmation.

Luffy looked at the ship, and his blood boiled.

His journey could finally be called starting.

"Nami, next destination Baratie. We are picking up our chef."

Nami looked surprised at his declaration, but didn't ask much.

The boat started accelerating towards the next destination.
