What happened on that day couldn’t even be called a battle. Rather, it was more accurately described as one-sided violence.

With Liandra now joining in, it didn’t even last more than five minutes even though we were holding back greatly. In the end, only the rector and her bodyguards were still standing.

“Did you know they were going to be this weak?”

“Obviously.” I replied as I cleaned off a few bloodstains from my uniform using magic. Thanks to the instructors neglecting any magic that would’ve made their attacks non-lethal, Liandra and I had to neutralize them as quickly as possible.

That meant most of the instructors we’d taken out were either seriously injured or crippled. The two of us had tried our best to avoid inflicting any fatal injuries, but with how weak they were, I really couldn’t tell if they’d all survive.

I knew one thing for sure, though: there would be at least one casualty here today. The look in Liandra’s eyes told me that she had no intention to spare the rector.

She had the perfect chance to complete her mission right now. Honestly, I admired how dedicated she was to the task despite her displeasure with Cyrus’ manipulation.

“D-Don’t come any closer!” The rector scrambled backwards as she desperately fired several dozen bolts of mana at us, all of which I dispersed with a casual wave of my hand.

Her two bodyguards quivered as they huddled shoulder-to-shoulder, shielding the rector from our advance. I hesitated as I saw the fear in their eyes.

They were right about one thing, at the very least. I truly was a monster.

I was unreasonably powerful. Not only that, but these people were simply doing their jobs. I didn’t even know if they actually deserved to die, unlike with the Black Constellation.

So was killing them really necessary for my goal? That question sure as hell was easy to answer.

No, it wasn’t.

I held up a hand, signaling for Liandra to pause for a moment. She looked at me curiously as I closed the distance between myself and the guards within an instant and knocked them both unconscious with light strikes aimed at their heads.

However, that didn’t mean I was going to interfere with Liandra’s plans. The moment those two guards fell and revealed the trembling rector standing behind them, I turned away.

Liandra gave me a nod and raised a hand toward the rector, firing a bolt of her poison magic directly into the woman. It only took around five seconds for her to die, but those were probably the most painful five seconds of her life.

I shuddered to think of what would’ve happened to me if I wasn’t able to bypass Liandra’s defenses the first time I fought her.

“Well, I guess that’s the end of our school days.”

“School day. It’s our first day, Ryuuko.”

I blinked. “Huh. You’re right. I guess we’re model students then, seeing as we’ve graduated on the very first day of class.”

“I don’t think expulsion carries the same meaning as graduation.”

“I mean, we destroyed the entire faculty of this academy, right? I’d say we passed in record time. We’re pretty much model students at this point.” I smirked.

I laughed as Liandra called me an idiot and took a moment to admire our handiwork. The interior of the cafeteria was still intact, but there were cracks and holes in the walls and flooring. The unconscious bodies of the faculty laid strewn across the room, some of them lying in pools of blood.

This all probably could’ve been avoided if I’d backed down when the instructors arrived and played the part of an “intelligent” and “strategic” protagonist, but that wouldn’t be any fun at all, nor was it my style.

Besides, this was the perfect chance for me to get out of being locked into the goddamn isekai academy arc for the entire year, so I didn’t really have a choice at all in the matter.

Granted, I didn’t really get to experience if this world’s version of school was as bad as my school on Earth, but it wasn’t really on the list of my priorities. From what I’d seen so far, it was pretty much the same anyway.

Some people might look at all of this and think something along the lines of “If you were going to fuck shit up to this degree, why even bother going along with the mission at all from the start?”

And to those people, I say go fuck yourselves. Honestly though, I really was planning on doing my best for this shitty mission. I even put on a school uniform for it!

I just really didn’t like the fact that Cyrus was leaving me out of the loop regarding his whole master plan or whatever the fuck he was scheming. I mean, seriously.

Who the hell just keeps their allies in the dark like that?

Am I overreacting? Maybe a little, but if you’re going to make me abruptly confront twelve years of trauma that I’ve just barely started to overcome, then you’re gonna have to at least level with me and gimme the full scope of your stupid ass plan.

It’s only fair.

“So, whaddya think, Liandra? Not bad, right?”

Liandra nodded. “Indeed. Though, I’m curious as to what you’re going to do regarding your portion of the mis—”

The sudden interruption came from the cafeteria doors that were closest to us. Liandra and I whirled around to face the new arrivals, preparing for battle only to find out that the newcomers were Princess Sella, Princess Radeca, and their respective entourages.

Sella’s eyes widened at the carnage, and Radeca averted her gaze. I didn’t blame them. The state of the room was an utter mess, to say the least. They were nobility of the highest order and probably hadn’t seen anything more than a nosebleed.

“What happened here?” Sella demanded after she recovered.

I faced her and sighed.

Well, this is going to be a long one.
