“For the time being, your name will be Tet, I guess. I’ll be in your care from now on, Tet.”
I held out my right hand to the Clay Golem Tet, and it returned a handshake.
Appearance-wise, the lower half of its body is disfigured and golem-like. but its intelligence is unexpectedly high it seems.
It has a clay body so when we shook hands I thought some clay was going to stick to my hands, but surprisingly that didn’t happen.
Rather, the soil was perfectly damp and felt good, I think.
“Well, today is the day I explore inside the forest. Thanks for being the vanguard.”
The silent Tet bowed, acted in a manner as if he was searching for something, and located a wooden rod.
Then, when it displayed a golem’s physical strength and wielded the wooden rod, the wood might have gone bad after the rain and it broke.
For some reason or another, Tet seemed sad……
“Umm, Tet, do you want a weapon?”
Tet selfishly nodded its head at my words.
“Umm, then—-<<Creation>> Sword!”
What I brought forth with my creation was a single iron sword.
The sword was a bulky blunt short sword, but the one holding it–Tet–looked happy.
Then, when Tet tried out the new sword on the nearby tree, even if the sharpness isn’t good, Tet shaved off the bark and cut it into pieces.
Perhaps, Tet’s more suited for a shock type blow than a slashing attack.
“Well then, let’s go this time for sure.”
Having said that and proceeding ahead at once, a goblin appeared in a similar fashion to yesterday.
“Tet, I’ll leave it to you!”
As I gave my instructions, Tet exchanged blows with the goblin’s club with its sword, and struck the goblin with brute force.
Then, I fired off a wind cutter at the goblin who had its movement restricted, defeating it calmly this time.
“Alright, this feels good.”
As I thought that I wouldn’t be in much danger like this, Tet thrusted the not-so-sharp sword at the goblin’s heart, scooped it out and returned back to me.
When I asked, Tet handed over the goblin’s magic gem that was the size of a pinky.
However, I’m bothered by the bloody pieces of meat stuck to the magic gem that was handed over.
“Umm… Tet you can do as you like.”
As I said that, Tet ingested into its body through the portion that looks like the head.
“Eh, are you find if you eat it?”
I was concerned, but Tet gestured in a manner that probably meant it was fine.
I would find out later, but it seems like existences such as golems and automatas would intake the defeated monster core into their own core, and their intelligence and abilities can grow.
However, the thing that’s worth the most is the magic gem in monster subjugations, so regular golem users wouldn’t award them the magic gems.
Most importantly, even though the golem core will grow, the required amount of magic gems is exceedingly numerous.
Also, when the moment the golem core gets damaged in some sort of way and stops functioning, all the magic gems that the core absorbed up until then will disappear.
Although a damaged core could be restored, a massive amount of magic gems is required, so the more it grows, the higher the operation costs become which becomes troublesome.
Because of that, golem users don’t allow their golems to grow.
“I can make a magic gem with my [Creation Magic], so if you want one, just give me a heads up.”
“Gon!?”
“Wait, you talked!? A-Ahahaha, Tet is able to talk now.”
Tet became able to respond with short “gon gon’s” in a conversation which is amusing, and tears started running at the fact that I could talk to someone for the first time in a while.
It might have been that I felt unexpectedly lonely in my survival lifestyle in the middle of the plains.
Then, I thought of something as I called down.
“Tet, since gouging out the heart with a not-so-sharp blade like at first is a pain, I’ll give you a knife. —-<<Creation>> Knife!”
I imagined a knife that could be used for dismantling that’s reasonably sharp.
Tet received it seriously and took it completely into its body.
While thinking that perhaps the knife may be stored inside the body, me and Tet advanced deeper into the forest and continued to defeat monsters.
