Chapter 2: 2

The original owner was a year younger than Xi Yu. He was a 25 year old who have just graduated from college and is currently jobless. Not like he needed a job, the original owner was rich enough to live a life of leisure until death. 

To be precise it was not the original owner who was rich it was his father. But his father whom he did not meet until he was sixteen doesn’t really care about him after all the original owner was a mistake. He was an illegitimate child. 

The original owner lived in the main house of the Xi family for about a year and a half with his mother. He moved out when his mother died. In his heart he was blaming the Xi Family for his mother’s death. Despite being accused for something they didn’t do, the Xi family still gave him a roof and a bunch of helpers to take care of him which was Old Lu and the others. 

With the hate he was carrying in his heart, the originally meek Xi Yu (the original owner) became unscrupulous and started hanging out with the problematic second generation kids. His rebellious attitude has caused a headache to his (half) older brother Xi Wen, the current head of the Xi Family. 

Xi Wen have always wanted to come personally and educate this brother of his but was constantly stop by Xi Wan, his twin brother who dotes on Xi Yu. Not only Xi Wan but also by the other members of the Xi Family. Apart from Xi Wen, the other members are completely smitten with Xi Yu, unfortunately Xi Yu who hated them doesn’t know. 

The Xi family have always wanted a girl and if there is no chance then an omega male would suffice and it happened. However the certain omega male didn’t like them so, it’s a bit sad. The Xi family was composed of Alphas and Betas. From the main family to the side family, aside from their omega or beta spouses, the children were all either Alpha or Beta.  Strengthening their obsession for an Omega child. That is why they dote on Xi Yu secretly although they are always misunderstood. The original owner can’t be totally blamed either since the Xi family was known as a family of icebergs. 

And of course, the current Xi Yu doesn’t know this either. He doesn’t even know that the body he was occupying has a second gender that was called as an Omega. He was relying on the original owner’s broken memories and only knows that despite the cold treatment of the Xi Family to him at least they didn’t let him go hungry. 

After assessing the fragmented memories left behind by the original owner, Xi Yu finally have the rough understanding of this world. It wasn’t the Earth he knew. It seemed to be a parallel one. 

Xi Yu was no longer that surprised, reincarnation or transmigration was already bizarre enough, having a parallel version of the Earth was now acceptable to him. His world views have changed. 

Also, the original owner was a troublemaker and has a not-so-good friends. Xi Yu thought about it and decided to cut off the connection of this body to those friends least it will become troublesome in the future. 

Xi Yu opened his eyes and stretched. He slipped out of the bed and kowtowed to the empty air. He thank the original owner for giving him another chance to live and prayed that the original reached the afterlife safe and sound. Xi Yu has now claimed this body as his. 

These series of actions was finally done. Xi Yu opened his phone and drag all those ‘friends’ in a group chat because it’s too troublesome to talk to them one by one. Also, Xi Yu doesn’t have enough sincerity to meet them in person, he doesn’t trust them. 

“I decided to straighten my crookedness. To achieve that, I’ll be distancing myself from you lot. I hope you’ll also change your ways. The world is big, don’t get caught up with your grievances.” Xi Yu sent this message to the group chat. He didn’t forget to send a red packet. 

It did not take long for him to get a reaction. Contrary to Xi Yu’s expectation, these friends were indifferent. They even ask him if he was trying to humiliate them with money. Overall, the friendship was plastic. 

It was a good news for Xi Yu. After sending his last farewell to them regardless of their reaction, Xi Yu left the group. 

Smiling, Xi Yu went out of his room to search for food. It was already 1 in the afternoon and he hasn’t eaten yet. While trudging down the stairs, he was meet with a frightened eyes of a young lady. 

“Y-young master.” The young maid stuttered. Xi Yu simply nodded at her. He went directly to the kitchen with the use of his subconscious. 

Xi Yu was seen by the cooking aunt who automatically served him his brunch. He thank her with a smile and started digging in. 

The auntie who was attacked with the brilliant smile of the young master stood petrified. She didn’t expect it.

If her employers seen this rare moment, the cooking auntie was sure that they will envy her. The Xi Family doting on Xi Yu was no secret to the servants, the only oblivious one was the subject of the affection. 

“The weather’s a bit hot can I have a cold drink?” Xi Yu inquired politely. He was well-aware that him behaving this way will cause some suspicions to the people the surrounds him but he can’t bring himself to act like the original owner who was rude to the elders. 

“Yes of course, what drink do you prefer young master? I’ll make it right away.” 

“No need for the trouble, just give me something that is available.” 

The cooking auntie went back to the kitchen to make him a blueberry mint lemonade. Xi Yu who drank it for the first time likes the taste and complimented her. He asked to have it deliver upstairs. 

When he was done eating Xi Yu returned to his room to laze around. 

Since he wasn’t sleepy, Xi Yu turned on the tv in the sitting room. He keep on switching channels until he found a channel that was airing a variety show. It’s theme was surviving in the forest for a week. The episode airing at this moment was the final episode. 

In the screen, the celebrities were playing the last game. It was to catch snakes. Naturally, the program group had ensure that this snakes are harmless. However, this fact did not calm the celebrities. They all were showing fear on their beautiful faces. 

Xi Yu laughed when he saw the reaction of one particular celebrity who was approached by a snake. The celebrity looked like she could faint in any minute. 

When Xi Yu thought that no one was brave enough to take on the challenge, a young man step forward. 

He was gorgeous but not feminine. He has a sword-like brows and a pair of obsidian eyes. He looked like a perfectly sculpted sculpture. His voice was also charming and he smiled like the spring breeze. 

The young man seemed to be in his early 20s. His face hasn’t lost the liveliness of a youth. Simply stunning. 

Xi Yu’s eyes fixed on the long slender hands that was holding a snake. He thought that these pair of hands will even look better when playing the piano. 

Amused of his own thoughts, Xi Yu shook his head and focused on the program. Without any suspense, the young man’s team won the last game. They were also the overall winners, they won an amount of a hundred thousand yuan which will be donated to their chosen charity. 

Xi Yu was no longer interested with the program’s closing and switched channels again. No programs attracted his attention so he decided to shut the tv off. 

Xi Yu lay down on the sofa and hug the pillow. He decided to sleep. 

Since the original owner was grounded because of a trouble he recently got involved with, he can’t go out to explore this new world for the time being. 

He was planning to adopt a cat. To him the life is not worth living without a cat.
