Xi Yu soaked himself on the bathtub. A month have past and he still can’t get over the fact that his left thigh has something his right thigh doesn’t have. It seemed like a gland of some sort.

Thinking that it was a defect in the original owner’s genes, he have neglected it for awhile. It’s just that whenever he was naked, he can’t help but look at it. His slightly obsessive compulsive personality can’t ignore it.

Pressing the area between his eyes, Xi Yu relaxed his muscles. Nothing beats a cold bath in a hot day.

The ringing of his alarm clock forced Xi Yu to finally stop soaking. He step out of the tub and wore the black bathrobe he prepared.

The tall mirror reflected his fine build as he walk languidly towards the sitting room. Momo was sleeping on the couch, completely ignoring the surrounding cat towers and frames.

The cat climbing frame he bought yesterday was ignored as well. Momo doesn’t appreciate the efforts of his dad causing a slight pain in Xi Yu’s heart.

Momo who was sleeping peacefully seemed to perceive Xi Yu’s gaze. She opened her eyes for a moment, let out a soft meow before closing it again. Her meow meant that she acknowledge his presence and is free to get out of her surroundings.

Xi Yu touched his chest, he was refueled. Being a dad is really different ba. Life has never been dull since his little baby came here. He directly kissed Momo’s head before slumping his body next to it.

“Momo-ah~, we’ll visit the main house later. Dad will meet the relatives of this body, you behave for me alright?”

He reminded the cat quite seriously.

While conducting a parent and child talk with the cat, his phone in the glass table lit up.

A small smile emerged in Xi Yu’s face. They finally took notice of his rampage online.

Xi Yu typed a few words tactfully ‘declining’ the job that the other side was offering. It was his way of saying, ‘Convince me more and if I accepted remember I’m not someone to be dictated.’

Two weeks had passed since he dabbled with the security of the state. The first few weeks of staying in this world without doing anything apart from gaming had taken a toll on Xi Yu’s mental health prompting him to decide to return to his previous job.

Living a life without direction nor purpose wasn’t meant for him. Xi Yu considered emptiness as torture. The hollow feeling would make him depress and unable to move on.

After a few exchange, the other side decided to call him. He let the phone rang for a minute before answering.

“Won?”

“En, that’s me.” Xi Yu reached out for the sleeping cat and coax it to stay on his lap.

“Is it convenient to meet?”

Xi Yu pretended to think about it for awhile. “I’m busy at the moment.”

“I see. Then I’ll be direct. Sir Won, your actions have attracted the Head of Defense of the State. Although you committed a crime for attacking the State intelligence for a period of time, we have noticed that you did not dig deeper nor did you leak information. We are put in chaos and uncertainty knowing the fact that you are more than capable to invade our country’s intel. Your very existence is a threat. Rather than convicting you for a crime of treason we are solemnly extending a hand for you to join our agency. If the invitation is declined, we will be forced to track you down and arrest you.”

Messing with the cat’s fur, Xi Yu raised his brows. “Is that a threat?”

“This call is being track down at the moment.” The other side reminded.

With half-lidded eyes, Xi Yu laughed. “Alright, I will join but I have one condition.”

The other side became silent for a second before asking what his condition was.

Hearing his inquiry, Xi Yu stopped beating around the bush. “I will only take works if I wanted to and if I’m interested. You can’t force me. If you’ll agree then it’s settled. If not then forget it.”

The other side asked a few questions about him checking if he was telling the truth according to their gathered information about him before affirming his request. They did not forget to invite Xi Yu to meet up in person if he got the time. They have also expressed their happiness about him joining their unit.

After talking about some other trivial matters, the other side hanged up. Xi Yu also released the protesting Momo on his lap to change his clothes.

“Young master be careful on your way.” The old butler reminded.

Xi Yu hummed and drive off. Momo was on her overly girlish cat kennel at the passenger seat.

An hour passed before they reached the main house. When he arrived, someone came forward to take his car keys and park it in the family’s parking lot. Xi Yu smiled amiably as he handed the keys quite naturally.

A maid have also welcomed him. The maid guided him to the greenhouse where the dinner will be held.

After passing by a large courtyard, Xi Yu internally gasped at the large green house filled with various kinds of flowers and greens. He saw four people sitting around a round glass table. They are the original owner’s relatives.

While carrying Momo’s kennel, Xi Yu walked in and greeted them one by one. The four people have the same reaction. They merely nodded at him.

“What took you so long?” Xi Wen asked. He looked unhappy.

Xi Wan also quietly stared at him, waiting for his answer.

Scratching the back of his head as he place the kennel in an empty seat, Xi Yu randomly said an excuse. He can’t possibly say he got lost on the way right?

The crappy memories left behind by the original owner did not even help him that much apart from the image of the estate and name ‘Main house’. Asking the old butler about the location will caused suspicion so he quickly disregarded the idea. It took him awhile to invade Xi Wan’s privacy to get here. This was the reason why he came late.

“It won’t happen again next time.” Xi Yu glance around the table. He was speechless to see that all the dishes was his favorite food. No wonder the cooking aunt pestered him about his likes and dislikes these past few days.

Pretending not to notice the piercing gaze of a certain woman, Xi Yu maintained a smile on his face. “Are we still waiting for someone else?”

His question made Xi Wen scoffed. “What do you think?”

Xi Yu shrugged. “Im asking because I don’t know.”

“Are you that hungry?” Xi Wan asked. His voice was devoid of emotion. If Xi Yu didn’t notice the rhythmic tapping of Xi Wan’s hands on his thighs then he would misunderstood this man as someone who is cold.

“Not really, it’s just the food wouldn’t taste good if it wasn’t eaten right away.” He denied. He also happened to make an eye contact with the original owner’s father causing Xi Yu to smile. Seemingly caught off guard of his smile his father quickly look elsewhere.

This old man looked a bit like his father on his past life. Lin Yan, the wife of his father also happen to have the same fashion taste and cat-like eyes as his mother as well.

Sometimes, Xi Yu wonder what prompted him to come to this world when he could’ve just died on the spot and proceeded to the afterlife. Although this transmigration was lenient to him, to be able to have a family with the same aura as his former family was kinda suspicious. Xi Yu can’t help but be afraid that this was all an illusion or his own hallucination after his soul left his body.

But this doubts were all deemed worthless. Nothing can beat the fact that he was functioning rather well in this world. Xi Yu have to admit that he wasn’t that creative to create such a beautiful make-believe world as a basis of his own hallucination nor did he have any desire to become rich. He knows that this was real but it isn’t bad to question such coincidences from time to time right?

Perhaps the Lord God appreciated all his merits from the past and granted him this new world to live in. That was probably the case.

Xi Yu finally shifted his focus to the conspicuous woman in front of him. “Miss Lin, your dress and make up suits you well.” He uttered the complements he usually say to his mother and sister when they meet to flatter them.

“You got fine eyes.” Lin Yan agreed. She didn’t look like she acknowledged his complement.

Xi Yu finally understood why the original owner have a misconception about this family. They all look like they are hard to get along with in the surface. Again, thanks to the dishes in front of him that reminded him what these four people really feel deep inside. If these dishes weren’t present, Xi Yu would feel like he was sitting in pins and needles while surrounded with cameras that record his every move. A very uncomfortable situation to be in.

His father faked a cough. “Let’s eat.”

Xi Yu nodded and waited for the elders to eat first but none of the people who were present moved. Instead, they looked at him at the same time.

Xi Yu’s brain quickly came up with a translation. They wanted him to eat first.

While extending his chopsticks to a shrimp tempura in front of him, Xi Yu laughed internally. These people are amusing.

When they saw him smile after stuffing the tempura in his mouth. The four people from the Xi family started eating as well. Whether they were relieved to see Xi Yu eating comfortably in their presence was unknown.
