Chapter 7: 7

Xiao Ling inspected Xi Yu’s final look and begrudgingly nodded. 

“Young master, your taste doesn’t match at all.” She can’t help but comment. 

“Hmm?” Xi Yu gave her a glance while buttoning his cuffs. 

“Well, the atmosphere in your room contradicts your fashion taste. The room looks cool and to be honest a bit dreary but your way of dressing up is flamboyant.” She answered. 

The young master who agreed to let them chose what he will wear did not wear their chosen outfit at all. He complained on how boorish the color was. 

He even have the guts to ask, ‘Do you want me to look cold?’ which she answered with, ‘Aren’t you always cold?’ 

If it was the young master of the past then he would definitely blow up and fire her on the spot for raising her opinion in front of him. Good thing, he have become forgiving and easy to get along with now. 

It’s just that along with the change of attitude, his aesthetic have changed as well. But this change does suit him. 

The young master of the past like his clothes black, gray or white. He has this lofty and detached look yet he have an explosive temper when poked. Young master was very different now, it even seemed like he was not the same person. 

“Do you want to know a secret?” The young master suddenly said with a serious expression. 

Xiao Ling who loves gossip immediately nodded. “Do tell young master.” 

“To be noticed, you have to look good.” 

Xiao Ling waited for his follow-up words but he looked like he was done telling the secret. 

“… That’s it?” 

“En” 

Xiao Ling shook her head, “Everyone knows that young master.” 

Xi Yu mirrored her reaction, “You don’t get it.” 

Xiao Ling have a hunched that the young master was teasing her but she go along with it. Maybe this was his way of distracting himself from the unbearable pain he was feeling right now. “How so?” 

“I like this minimalistic interior design because it will highlight my awesomeness. Look at me right now.” Xi Yu gestured to himself, “With this outfit, aren’t I the apple of you eyes?” 

Stopping the urge to give him an eye roll, Xiao Ling commented, “Young master, your room design is pointless when you go out, it can’t highlight your awesomeness at all. You don’t even go out unless it has something to do with the cat these days.” 

While they are bantering about each other’s fashion taste, Xiao Ming entered Xi Yu’s opened room. “Young master, Your second elder brother have arrived and was telling you to hurry up.” 

“Xiao Ming-ah, don’t I look particularly handsome in this?” Xi Yu strike a posed and gave her a wink. 

“Young master, you resembled a camellia in a snowy mountain. You looked particularly stunning and eye-catching amidst the grey color of this world.” She dutifully answered making Xi Yu satisfied. 

Xi Yu flashed a triumphant smile to Xiao Ling who acted like she was dazzled by his brightness, causing him to laugh. 

Having enough fun, Xi Yu finally set off and left with his brother to the banquet.

The servants who watch him left were all feeling sad for him. They all stand together at the entrance of gate with a heavy heart. Concern can be particularly seen in their faces. 

The parking lot of Eyeisel Hotel was already jammed up with various luxury cars that are more expensive than the other when they arrived. Although half an hour was left until the banquet will start, no one wanted to miss the chance of building connections with the heavyweights that came to attend. 

A red carpet could be seen at the entrance of the hotel. At the entrance four professional-looking buff guys were standing straight while a clean-looking guy in a deep blue tuxedo was checking the invitation cards of the guests who came. 

Wearing the same outfit as the four, quite a lot of buff guys were surrounding the vicinity as well. They were either controlling the reporters  or was there to intimidate the onlookers who purposely came to watch the scene. 

The fan girls in groups holding some banners at the side have given Xi Yu the illusion that this was an award show for the actors and actress instead of a welcoming slash engagement banquet of a crazy rich family. 

To be honest it does seemed that way since from afar Xi Yu could see some familiar looking people whom he either saw in billboards or some products. Not only was this banquet filled with tigers and dragons, some famous stars and other low-tier celebrities was here too. 

This was really a troublesome event. Xi Yu heavily concluded. 

“What are you standing there for?” Xi Wen chastised. 

“Regretting it now?” 

Xi Yu nodded honestly. Why bother coming here for the food when the cooking auntie can just cook the food he wants? 

For some reason, Xi Yu got nervous. He already know that this event is big, but he didn’t know it was this big. His imagination when it comes to rich people’s life hasn’t improved at all. 

Xi Wen clicked his tongue. “Stay with me all throughout and you’ll be fine.” 

“En”  

His brother was still skeptical and offered to send him home but Xi Yu refused. “Let’s get this done.” 

“Alright”

Shen Mo got out of the car under the threatening look of his manager. He have never intended to come here at all. He wasn’t that fond of socializing. The fact that his manager forced him to come here wasn’t even for socializing made him uncomfortable even more. 

He was an alpha but he have to swallow his pride since he needed the job and doesn’t have any funds to pay a contract breach. He was really so foolish back then. To believe that this beta in front of him will help him achieve his dreams. Really foolish. 

“Don’t show that cold look. How can you attract a big man if you act like that?” Feng An, his manager scolded. 

Shen Mo ignored him and proceeded to follow the other artists that came along with him. They were artists from the same company who were said to be ‘lucky’ to get the chance to attend this banquet. 

If not for his debt, Shen Mo wouldn’t come here. This place is for sure full of disgusting people who like to take advantage with people like them for pleasure. 

Even more disgusting was those Alphas whose likes are of the same kind. If it weren’t for these kind of people then his elder brother would’ve been alive. Shen Mo gritted his teeth and swallowed the resentment in his heart. 

If Xi Yu was still in the parking lot he would have recognize Shen Mo as the sunny young man he saw on the live broadcast about a month ago.
