Chapter 9: 9

Ruan Qianxi was at the second floor gazing at a man that caught his interest. The man was wearing a floral  buttoned-down shirt and black trousers paired with black leather loafers. 

His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows exposing a pale and exquisite arms. The man was constantly laughing to himself as he look at other people. 

“Ge?” 

Ruan Qianxi turned back. “What’s the matter?” 

“Nothing, i just noticed you staring at the same direction for awhile now.” Ruan Tang said as he casted his gaze at the first floor. 

He squinted, just to be sure the person he was seeing was the person he know. It was Xi Yu. 

Ruan Tang inwardly rolled his eyes. “Did the youngest son of the Xi Family caught your attention?” 

“You know him?” 

Ruan Tang nodded albeit hesitantly. 

“He is Xi Yu?” Ruan Qianxi probed. His interest vanished now that he know who he is. The person who always tried to make things difficult for Ruan Tang. 

“Mmm” 

Ruan Qianxi patted him in the shoulder, “I thought he'd look nice to be seen under, now that i think about it. It's not worth it.” 

Messing with Xi Yu means messing with the Xi Family. A family of lunatics. 

“Why aren't you with your fiance?” 

Ruan Tang smiled shyly, “He is too clingy. I don't want to display our affection in public lest it will make a certain someone ruin the mood.” 

Ruan Qianxi just smiled as he lead his brother to his friends. “He wouldn't dare.” 

Xi Yu suited his taste but it is no fun conquering an omega. A helpless Alpha is better. Thinking about how desperate they'd become once they discover that they can no longer be the same again exhilarated Ruan Qianxi. 

The good news was, he have also found the person he wanted. A newcomer 18th tier celebrity he happened to discover in a variety show. 

The plot has been set, the actors are ready. The only step left is for the protagonist to fall on his well-designed plot. 

“Mr. Ruan, the fish was on the water.” 

A subordinate came to remind him. 

“What fish?” Ruan Tang confusedly asked. 

“You should find your fiance.” Ruan Qianxi changed the subject. 

“He is fine. We haven't seen each other for many years now. I'll accompany you ge.” Ruan Tang insisted. 

“Tangtang? Don't forget that you are only engaged. You haven't been marked. A man's heart is fickle you should be concerned.” 

Ruan Tang pursed his lips and nodded. “En” 

When his brother finally left, he smiled a smile that wasn't a smile to the idiot in front of him. “Did you drop your brain somewhere?” 

“Apologies, this will not happen again.” The subordinate said shakily. Ruan Qianxi is a ruthless man, he was afraid that he'll be disposed. 

“Better be if you don't want anything bad to happen.” Ruan Qianxi warned. 

Zhou Sheng, a friend of his was walking towards his direction prompting him to display his good persona. “Tell them to cast the net.” 

He patted the subordinate and raised his glass of wine to toast Zhou Sheng. 

“Congratulations for sealing the deal Big man.” Zhou Sheng teased. 

Ruan Qianxi smiled, “I will not achieve it without the help of my people. It's them who should be thanked.”

Zhou Sheng sighed. His friend was too humble. 

“Alright alright, thanks to them!” He toast to the open air and drank his champagne. 

Ruan Qianxi laughed. “It's been awhile. How are you?”

Hearing his question, Zhou Sheng's smile vanished. “Tsk! I've been very busy cleaning up the traces left behind by those idiots.” 

“Someone interfered?” Ruan Qianxi asked, surprised. Zhou Sheng was someone who is meticulous with whatever he do. It is practically impossible to make him fail. 

“En” 

“Who was capable enough to do so?” 

Zhou Sheng massaged his temple, “Xi Guang.”

Just thinking about the name made him want to vomit blood. Such a hateful hypocritical man. 

Ruan Qianxi paused then nodded. “I see.” 

Xi Guang, someone from the Xi Family.

Xi Yu stared at the empty glass in front of him. If you look closely in his eyes, you'd notice that it has resentment on it. 

He have drank a lot of water and because of that, nature was calling him. 

He was someone who always try to keep to his words. However the situation tells him to go and pee. It will only take a few minutes. 

Xi Yu asked a server about the direction of the toilet and went there. He walked for 10 minutes before reaching the toilet and have bypassed a lot of halls and people. 

He experienced the feeling of an animal in the zoo being watch by humans who are looking for entertainment while he walked. Some second generation rich people whom he bypassed did not even try to hide it. If it wasn't for the presence of his two brothers and the news about him being in good terms with the Xi Family, these people might've come to trouble him right of the bat. 

Xi Yu ignored them completely. He was in a hurry to pee. When Xi Yu reached the toilet he chose to be in a cubicle. This was a habit he cultivated in the past because of some personal reasons. 

Once he was done, he was about to come out when he overheard two people talking. 

“Make sure to deliver it to the right person.” 

“Rest assured sir. I have been watching the target ever since he step foot in the hotel. I will not make any mistake.” 

“Do i need to pour everything in the glass?” The second person inquired. 

“That'd be better.” The first person approved. 

Xi Yu listened to the sound of them leaving. He waited for awhile before coming out to follow them. 

At first, Xi Yu didn't understand what they are talking about but as he listened further he discovered the underlying meaning of their words. One thing is for sure, those people are up to no good. 

Watching the back of the two people who were heading to the banquet hall, Xi Yu's eyes dimmed. 

Like he guessed, the other party was a server. This proved his conjecture that they are about to drug someone. It is not surprising for something like this to happen in an event and Xi Yu was well-aware of that. Xi Yu also admits that he wasn't a saint but this matter have step on his bottom line. He will interfere and try his best to save the innocent person that will about to fall in the claws of the devil. 

Xi Yu walked briskly, his sight never left the server. He watch the server help his colleague distribute the wines while acting normal. He manage to serve four people before executing his main objective. 

The server easily poured a colorless liquid to one of the glass of wine without being noticed because of how fast he did it. Judging by his actions he seemed skilled and used to it. 

Xi Yu wasn't in a hurry to stop him. He wanted to know who the targeted person was to completely help them. 

As he was following the server at a certain distance, he suddenly stopped. 

He seemed to have relive the time that he was struck by a lightning. 

Xi Yu touched his head and squinted. This scene was awfully familiar to him. A man sitting in the corner with a cold look, the banquet hall, the large chandelier that was said to be made of pure diamond hanging on the high vaulted ceiling, the server approaching the man, three people staring greedily at the man not faraway and the name Ruan Qianxi. 

Finally realizing the sense of incongruity that he felt when he heard about the name Ruan Qianxi and Ruan Tang. Xi Yu hurriedly walked forward to stop a certain person from drinking the wine but he was one step too late. The man have already taken the wine and took a sip of it. The server who turned to another direction after giving him the wine has a smile on his face as he strode off. 

What the f*ck? This world is a novel? 

Xi Yu immediately took away the wine glass from the man's hold which stunned the man. 

“What are you doing?” The man asked coldly. 

“Brother, you might not believe this but this wine was drugged. The kind of drug that will make you go soft.” He answered. 

Xi Yu placed the glass on the table. “I advise you to leave this place right away.” 

The man looked at him suspiciously, “Who are you?” 

“Who am i isn't the main concern here. The main concern was your chastity!” 

The man was about to say something but stopped. He seemed to feel something welling up inside him. 

“I saw someone put something in your wine.” Xi Yu continued. 

Xi Yu sat down beside him but also remained a distance. He showed a smile but the words he spoke was serious. “2 o'clock, three old men.” 

The man beside him looked towards the direction he indicated, when he saw the three people he immediately understood. Who would misinterpret someone's lustful eyes? 

Now that this person knew, Xi Yu decided to leave but his wrist was suddenly caught by the man. 

Xi Yu looked back, “What?” 

“Help me.” The man said.
