“..Master…. please….”, a voice I recognized called out to me. “…please wake up…..”, the same voice called out once again to me.

I tried waking up, but I could not feel my body reacting to my will, my consciousness felt heavy and my mind was blank.

“…. please…”, the voice begged once again, I couldn’t feel the flow of time passing by anymore it was as if I was asleep for one night, yet it felt longer.

After a little while, I would say. I felt my body regaining strength again. I slowly opened my eyes and inspected where I was.

I found myself within a room with one bed, and some magic lights turned off on the ceiling, I tried moving. But I felt something pushing the sheets that had covered my body.

I saw Athena lying down her head on the edge of the bed, I could hear her soft breaths that made my heart skip a beat by each soft sigh.

Athena slowly opened her eyes, she probably felt the cloth that she had her cheek on move and that disrupted her sleep.

“Master!”, Athena jumped into my arms and hugged me tightly. “Uhm… Athena what happened?”, I mustered you say despite feeling embarrassed.

Athena held me even closer, but I was able to steel my heart and asked her. “How long was I asleep?”

“You’ve been asleep for two weeks, without waking up.”, Athena answered me in a muffled voice due to her burying her face into my chest.

‘TWO WEEKS!?’, I became shocked at the sudden revelation. ‘The last thing I remember was being in the carriage together with Athena, Azure, Alice and Willow.’

“I’m sorry, that I didn’t wake… up.”, looked toward Athena and she did the same, our eyes were suddenly locked onto each other. I felt her soft breaths close to me, her face was directly in front of me. Her eyes were feverish, and her lips were almost directly onto mine.

“… Athena….”, I muttered her name, my mind was hazy, and my body was unable to move.

Athena slowly closed the distance between us.

“Master!”, the moment we hard that voice, we returned to our senses.

Athena unbraced me and left the room immediately, Azure who had entered the room inclined her head in confusion.

“What happened?”, Azure asked. I remember what was about to happen and I shook my head trying to forget. “Nothing.”

After I left my room, I asked Willow what had happened. Just like Athena had said. I slept for two weeks, in that period of time they had tried waking me up several times.

After one week of travel while I was sleeping, they had arrived at a town within ‘Zeltram’ called ‘Ashen’. Willow searched for an Inn for us to stay, they placed me in one of the rooms and let me rest there.

The girls were all sleeping in one room while me and Willow would be sleeping in the same room. Athena had been inside that room waiting for me for straight four day without rest.

“I’m sorry. For being asleep for so long.”, I apologized to Willow who had to take care of everything.

“It’s no problem, I would have done it anyway.”, Willow brushes it aside. “But do ya know why ye slept that long?”, he asked.

“If I had to guess then it would be because of my ‘Spirit Form’ that had been damaged was trying to heal itself. I probably fell asleep so that I could use my ‘Mana’ to heal myself.”, I explained Willow and he scratched his head not understanding much of what I had told him.

“But still, I am sorry of the inconvenience I caused you.”, I apologized to Willow again. “Geez, If ya goin’ to keep on apologizin’, then ya can pay me off by buyin’ me a drink.”,

I nodded to his suggestion. “By the way, how many days are we still able to stay at the Inn?”, I remember having some money, but I do not remember ever giving him any.

“Oh, it’s one more night.”, he answered casually. “I see…”, I responded to his answer in a daze, when I suddenly realized what he had just said.

“One more night?!”, he is a smith should not he have at the very least more money to be able to afford for at the very least one week?!

“Well yeah, we can’t use the currency that they use in Dawnwell here.”, Willow took a from his jug of whine and said.

Unlike Dawnwell, Zeltram use their own type of currency called Zelts. The thing both of them have in common is that all of them are made from metals, but with different markings and value.

“So what you are saying is that…”, I put the gears together and awaited for the worst case scenario. “Yup, we’re poor all the way to the ground.”, Willow said casually with a small laugh at the end

“How were you able to rent two rooms in the first place?”, I asked holding my head to resist the headache I was receiving. “I visited this Kingdom once in the past and sold some stuff, and since I came back here, I remembered the money I had saved.”, Willow answered.

“What are you two talking about?”, A voice came from upstairs. “Oh-ho, good mornin’ princess.”, Willow greeted Alice who had come downstairs to the lobby of the Inn.

“So, you finally decided to wake up? Sure took you long enough ‘Kidnapper’”, Alice spoke to me. “‘Kidnapper’ now that’s a new one.”, I was able to muster a single sentence while holding back the headache.

“Where’s Athena?”, I asked Alice who sat down next to us. “She suddenly entered the room and lied down on her bed and started screamed into her pillow while kicking the sheets and then she went silent and fell asleep.”, Alice explained.

“She fell asleep?”, I said confused. “Of course, she’d be that tired. She hasn’t slept nor eaten anything in four days.”,

“She refused to eat anything, sometimes we even forced her. But, she refused to leave your side no matter what.”, Alice crossed her arms and told me.

‘Now I am starting to feel bad.’, I clutched my arms in frustration. I only heard that she was in my room, but I didn’t know she hadn’t eaten anything.

“I’m sorry.”, I apologized again, and Alice shook her head. “I’m not the one you’re going to be apologizing to, if then it’s her.”, Alice said.

“Alright, I know what to do then.”

“Welcome to the adventurers guild.”, the receptionist said with a professional smile.

First, I needed to be able to rent the Inn rooms for a couple of more days, and second I needed to get the Zeltram currency to be able to buy food for everyone else. And the best place that I know of that can help us in that is none other than the guild.

I asked Willow if there was a difference between the guild from Zeltram and Dawnwell. The ranking system is all the same, the only true difference between them is how they manage recruiting new adventurers.

In Dawnwell you can either do a small trial that won’t display your status or register directly showing your status to see whether or not you got what you need to be an adventurer.

Apparently, there was an old incident where information about all adventurers got leaked out, the guild received a lot of negative views by both public and adventurers. Ever since then they decided to change the information handling.

They no longer make you display your status to the guild and instead they make you fill out a sheet of paper asking you your gender, race, name, and specialization.

What I meant by specialization, is the fighting technique you are more used to or the skills you’re exceptionally good at, like ‘Swordsman’ or ‘Lancer’ or ‘Archer and so on.

“We would like to register as adventurers.”, I said to the receptionist. “What do you mean ‘we’?!”, Alice who came along complained.

I wanted to originally go with Willow, but apparently there was someone whom he wanted to meet up with. An old friend of his if I had to guess.

Athena was over exhausted, so I could not possibly bring myself to ask something of her. And Azure stayed behind looking over Athena, I could trust her… right?

“I didn’t even want to tag along anyway.”, Alice was about to turn around and leave but I held her hand and said. “First off, we need money to stay in the Inn rooms that willow rented for us. And second if you want to face your father to punish him for what he did, you need to get stronger first. And also…”

“… I would-d appreciate… your help.”, I averted eye contact flustered by my own words.

Alice looked back at me and sighed. “Fine, I shall accompany you then.”, she gave in and I got a little relieved.

“Two people are registering, right? I’ll go get the papers.”, the receptionist realized the conversation had reached an end and pulled out two sheets of paper just like the previous receptionist in Dawnwell.

I filled out the paper without putting much thought in it. Before I returned it to the receptionist, I saw Alice having some difficulty filling out the paper.

“What’s wrong?”, I looked over to her paper and saw that almost everything had been filled out except… “HEY! Don’t look at it.”, Alice covered the space which had been left out with her arms.

‘What are you? Some sort of child?’, I effortlessly removed her hands from covering the blank space. My Strength stat was higher than hers, there was no way resisting would help.

Alice struggled to release herself from my grip, but it brought her to no avail. I inspected the space she was hiding and found out the ‘Specialization’ section with only one square with a cross on it.

“Hey… don’t tell me you…”, I looked towards Alice and she was looking down at the floor in embarrassment. “I can only heal people…”, Alice muttered in a small voice and I released her from my grip.

Alice wasn’t an experienced fighter, she only has the skill ‘Life Attribute Magic’ which is mostly used for healing purposes and no other skill.

“Do you really not know any other skill?”, I asked Alice and she nodded slowly.

I gave the sheets of paper to the receptionist and she inspected them quickly but with full of precision. “So, the lady’s ‘Specialization’ is ‘Healing’ and the young mans are ‘Swordsman’ and ‘Mage’, am I right?”, the receptionist asked if these were correct.

There were other options that I could have crossed, but I thought I should keep my information as limited as possible. “Yes, that is all.”, I answered the receptionist and she nodded.

“Alright, this completes your official registration at the guild. Both of you will be assigned as F class adventurers.”, the receptionist took out two bronze colored cards and used some sort of pen to write down our names on it.

“Here are your Guild Cards, you may use them to identify yourselves as adventurers. It may not look like it, but it might help you one day get out of a complicated situation.”, the receptionist handed over the cards.

“There’s a bulletin over there, please choose a quest that is best suited for your class.”, the receptionist pointed towards a huge black board filled with quests up from F to A rank.

“Thank you.”, I said as me and Alice headed towards the bulletin filled with quests.

I looked towards Alice and realized that she had her eyes glued onto her guild card, it was as if she was a child looking at a precious gem.

“Is it the first time you’ve ever seen one?”, I asked her. She realized that I had been watching her and suddenly hid her card in one of her pockets.

On the day I ‘kidnapped’ her, she was in her pajamas. Willow thought it would be inappropriate to wear that at all times and offered her a set of armor for women.

“I’ve never really left the castle, my father only told me about some of his adventures. So, you could say this is the first time I have ever seen it.”, she responded with full of sincerity.

“Hmm. I see.”, I answered as I realized a particular thing inside the guild. “You know, I think I’ve never seen this many Demi-humans in one place.”,

The room was equally full of humans, Demi-humans, elves and even some dwarves. It was all balanced as everything could possibly be.

“Really? Is the guild in Dawnwell only filled with humans?”, Alice asked curiously. “Yeah, I mostly only saw humans and barely any elves or Demi-humans.”,

Zeltram is a country that believes that all races deserve to live with equal freedom and rights, of course with the exception of monsters. Obviously, Zeltram isn’t a perfect top notch kingdom, it is also known for having some corrupt noble families that have greatly influenced some territories within the kingdom and have created feud.

“It doesn’t make sense. Why did my father suddenly start hating all the other races?”, Alice asked to nobody, despite knowing that she wouldn’t receive an answer. “He ‘suddenly’ started hating them?”,

“Yes, my father told me that he had wanted to make the kingdom a safer place for all races.”, Alice told me. I couldn’t believe that her father is ‘that’ type of person, especially after what he did.

I looked back at the bulletin filled with quests to the brim. I couldn’t get more sidetracked or else we’ll end up here till night.

I skimmed through the quests searching for a suitable one to pick, I found one that caught my eye immediately.

“I’ll pick this one.”, I pulled out the sheet of paper and prepared myself for an ‘Adventure’.
