Chapter 58: Chapter 54 – Azure makes her resolve

Hello, here is your dear Shiro talking. I’ll be explaining to you how the tournament works! Ready yourselves up, because it’ll be short as hell!

First off, for the registration you must be an adventurer to compete, all classes are accepted even SSS class. The tournament changes its competitions yearly, that means if you made a strategy for a certain challenge it will not work this year anymore.

Do not fret though, there is one tradition that doesn’t change and that’s the fights. The tournament has three stages, the first challenge, and then the second and the final one is a fight to the death… I’m not joking there were some people who died in this.

The main rules are, you are not allowed to team up with other contestants unless it’s a part of a challenge, due to the ‘events’ of the previous tournament there was a new rule where if your opponent gives up, you are not allowed to fight him any further or else you might get disqualified.

This tournament is also used to celebrate the festival of the fallen hero, it’s a fight to show your worth in front of many people that come from all sorts of regions and origins.

The rewards that I have mentioned are again, one platinum coin the worth of one hundred thousand ‘Zelts’ for the person who scores first place, for the second place you get thirty gold coins, and third place receives one gold coin, but those are not the only rewards, as an adventurer your class would be increased depending on how well your performance was in the tournament.

The first two stages of the tournament haven’t been announced yet, so the only thing I can explain you is the ‘Fight’. After you reach the final stage of the tournament, you will be fighting against the remaining contestants in a one on one battle. The use of magic and magic items is allowed, the only thing that isn’t allowed is what I had explained earlier.

The tournament will start in two days, but as of right now in one day, which means tomorrow I’ll be attending the tournament.

As for my location, I am as of right now at the guild. My job level had already reached level one hundred, people in this world normally have jobs for almost a decade, whether that means they are bad at it or not is a different thing.

I asked the Guild receptionist for permission to use the job changing room as always, I came in here with a plan as to what job to pick but now I was a little bit disappointed.

I could easily guess why I got the new jobs, like ‘Spirit Sword User’ is because I use swords that has the enchantment ‘Spirit Form’.

Despite the new jobs, I was already thinking on what to pick. Among all of these jobs that seemed so predictable there was only one I wished to choose.

I’ve been wandering what the skill ‘Wrath’ does, I haven’t experienced any abnormalities ever since I’ve gained this skill.

One of the explanations for what the skill does would be that the skill had always been on, like a active skill. For all I care it may have always been on, but what I don’t know… is the effects.

I didn’t have anything planned to do today, the only thing I could do now is prepare for the Tournament. I already knew what I was probably going to happen at the tournament, due to all adventurers of all classes are allowed, it is probably going to be tough reaching the finals without losing.

—sad was the word I was about to say, when she suddenly locked her arms around me in a hug.

She felt like she was a burden and that I would one day leave her behind, however I was the one who did not want them leaving me. And that’s why…

There was only one answer I could give.

“Even if you were a burden, I would still want you by my side.”, Azure made direct eye contact with me, her height was about the same size as me or maybe even slightly taller, her dark bluish colored irises that met mine were shimmering in tears.

“I know that this is very selfish of me… will you always be by my side?”

Azure was confused by my answer, her eyes were wide open, as if saying ‘what do you mean?’.

“Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it like I want to be forever with you like in a ‘marry’ way.”, I blushed slightly due to the words I just spoke.

“I understand, Master.”, Azures expression was no longer dark, it was as if clarity had hit her. “Let’s stay together forever, Master!”

‘Master, I will become stronger. So that I won’t be useless to you!’, Azure made her resolve, and an innocent smile finally showed itself on Azures face.

She knew that her master wouldn’t lie, even if he didn’t want her to do something like this for him. It was her own resolve that she had made.

Skill Explanation: Flame Manipulation

This skill allows to create, control/manipulate flames. This skill is not ‘Fire Attribute Magic’, despite the fact that it consumes mana and does pretty much the same as magic it is different. It doesn’t need ‘chantings’ nor will it consume a large amount of mana. This skill is mostly acquired among fire related monsters like ‘Blaze Ghosts’ or ‘Fire Dragons’.
