Emilia had spent a few days on the Burial Ground Dungeon.
It had been one of the worst days for her! Sleeping alone outside the dungeon was one thing, but the undead monsters were a pain in the ass!
"Literally pain in the ass," Emilia squinted her eyes, looking behind.
She rubbed her bottom with a hand coated in holy flames. Her healing skills weren't on par with other priestesses. It wasn't her focus, so Emilia considered herself half-healer at most.
Emilia also looked back to the days of working in church... She didn't look forward to these yet because their dungeon adventure was in a stalemate.
From day one, the duo had been just killing undead creatures. It wasn't anything else, and their drop was also common.
The monsters still dropped some higher quality items, but that was comparable to the arduous leveling up Emilia was forced to join!
Of course, she worked because of the contract. She had received something that just a few people were aware of... But Emilia also developed a liking to Reylin's flames, and them being in action kept pounding her heart.
The duo had returned to the city once, but Reylin didn't idle for too long here. He bought a few consumable items and returned after selling out his staff on the market...
To say nothing of using Emilia as a minion to sell their items, Reylin also didn't let her enjoy a bath for more than ten minutes!
Emilia was all glares when they had left the city, and now the monsters kept doing the same.
And that was the suicidal rush!
"Come here," Reylin said, pulling Emilia closer.
He embraced her with one arm, then raised his other.
[You have used The Red Sky!]
His flames became the massive aoe pillar that fended off the undead monsters.
"Treat your ass well, and don't let it bear another wound," He said while holding onto her.
Emilia's eyes rose, and she glared at him. Her whole body was lying on him, and though he sounded pretty cheeky, Emilia felt all secure. Her little indignation went down to her fingers that quickly took care of her wound.
After Emilia wiped her hand with a handkerchief, her two hands rose, and she let out the rain of flames onto all enemies around!
"Not even thanks?" Reylin commented from the side, "Well, I still have to protect my ass." He shrugged and flicked his fingers.
The undead monsters gathered en masse around them, and they had learned how to deal with players as well. Other than quantity, the undead covered each other with their bodies, forming meat shield after shield.
In any other scenario, they would have never approached the duo with crazy unique flames.
"Stay behind me then," Emilia replied with her lips bitten, "I am not going to protect your body, and I don't think I would be able to forget your cock getting pierced by a skeleton should it really happen. For a better future, you should invest in some crotch armor."
"Hey, I told you I understand you don't like sleeping outside alone," Reylin rolled his eyes.
Behind them, two ghosts floated with curious expressions.
They wondered whether that kind of relationship was healthy.
After all, "Big brother and sister argue a lot!"
"Big sister always forgives, though!" A ghost girl replied.
"Yep!" And her counterpart nodded.
These two had been following Reylin and Emilia all the time.
After Reylin logged out, his ghost would curl up on the ground and sleep as well.
Although Emilia's night had been not alone, she couldn't touch the ghost, nor it was a great companion to spend time with.
That was because those ghosts were kids, and they asked a lot of questions.
Should Emilia open her eyes, the ghost would notice it and ask even more!
Sleeping alone was necessary for the priestess.
Right now, these two didn't dare to talk with Reylin and Emilia. However, they would open their lips after the duo settled in a safe spot to recuperate.
While Reylin drank his potion, the ghost boy showed the candy or played it with him. They would toss it between each other and just talk about random talk... At one point, Reylin even shared a little of his childhood, and he made everyone around him listen.
Those days passed in such a setting until the ghost pulled Reylin's sleeve, "Big brother! Please, visit my grave with me!"
"Sure," Reylin nodded, inwardly feeling like his days of continuous undead hunting were coming to an end.
Emilia's ghost also said the same thing, and they followed their directions.
On their way, the undead barred the way, but Reylin and Emilia didn't spare any mana for them.
Since the graves were next to each other, Reylin and Emilia didn't separate.
The ghosts landed on their graves, then patted spots next to them.
"Since the owner is giving me permission, I will sit down," Reylin replied with a smile, then sat down next to his little friend.
His friend smiled in response, and his eyes rose, "My father was a hero!"
It was a short story of a hero, "My father saved many people! Like this many! And he also helped kids who had no family!" It began with the ghost having a big smile, but it slowly changed over time.
The little friend spoke with a bitter smile now, "After mother and father died, I also followed them. It was a big invasion from another nation... I died without seeing them, because both my parents were strong! They fought on a frontline..."
Reylin patted the ghost's head, and it was quite an odd and cold feeling.
"After years, no one visited father and mother's graves. They were known and saved many lives, but those who had survived never paid any attention to them. They just forgot about them... I was also forgotten by our relatives..." The ghost cried.
It seemed like he was somehow aware that the saved people survived and that his relatives were also alive.
Reylin blamed the dungeon for it.
At last, the ghost hopped off the grave and floated up to face Reylin, "It was fun, big brother! Thanks to you, I can pass away! You've visited my grave!"
"Well, I am happy for you," Reylin replied with a faint smile.
The ghost nodded, "Save my father and mother too, please!"
After those words, the grave opened, and Reylin's body got embraced by countless black hands! Those hands were formed by unknown energy, and he was slowly pulled by those into the grave.
He stared at the ghost, then replied with confidence blooming on his face, "I will, little brother."
The ghost grinned from ear to ear, "Yes, I believe in you and big sister!"
His head was half-gone as the ghost began passing away. He soon vanished wholly, leaving Reylin's eyes on the dark sky...
Reylin looked to the side, and he saw that Emilia had gone through the same development. Her body was sinking slowly into the grave, her eyes on him.
He nodded toward her, reassuring his priestess, then retracted his eyes, "This game always leaves me thinking."
What was the last time he visited his family's graves?
Reylin sighed...
