Chapter 25: Chapter 23-First class

Using my skill, Shinobu and I found our way to our classroom, which was really big. It had seats that were set up like bleachers on earth. Filled with students. I saw Alice waving at us from the top row. The thing that I wasn’t ready for is, you could easily tell who is a noble, they had a more flaunty uniform. While the ones that commoners wear were like a normal blazer from earth. The Nobles uniforms had shiny gold stripes running on the sides where it would usually be white lines. I thought that how high on the social ladder didn’t matter, and I’m pretty sure that's the case, as Alice was wearing the normal uniform, not the gold one. A student with the gold uniform started talking pretty loud.

“Where is our teacher? Are they really going to be late on the  first day? Also you two where are your uniforms, and you need to sit over here.” The noble said condescendingly. Shinobu started talking.

“Hello class we are your teachers today, us and 6 other teachers switch for the three combat classes.” The kids started laughing. The first one talked again.

“That is not possible, you are younger than us and we are the S-rank class. There is no way a couple of kids can teach us about fighting,  WHAAA!!!” Shinobu flew up to the kid and took her claw out enough to not injure him but enough to scare him. 

“You would be dead now if I didn’t stop myself.” Shinobu said while going back to the ground.

“Again we are your teachers for today, my name is Shinobu, and this is Luna.” Shinobu said with a smile. All I did was wave. I decided it was time for me to start talking.

“Today we are going to see your level of skill. How about you, the one who talked first, since you seem so confident, fight me. Don’t worry I won’t use my racial skills.” As I said that I pulled out my katana.

“Yeah I will fight you, how can you be stronger than me without skills. Probably was a fluke that you got here.” If it wasn’t obvious I used ‘succuvoice’ to make him believe I won’t use skills at all.

“Alright, are you two ready?” Shinobu asked. We nodded, he looked confident.

“Before we start, kid what's your name?” I asked

“Nathaniel Bareil, son of Viscount Bareil” he answered

“Yeah I don’t care about your rank. I just care about your strength right now. Shinobu starts.” 

“BEGIN” Shinobu shouted. He just stood there with his sword in his hands. Since he wouldn't, I rushed forward. He still didn’t move, but this time out of shock. I stopped about 2 inches from his neck. I should've realized these kids probably learned a very ‘elegant’ way of fighting, as in they learned a bad way of fighting that is not good for anything but duels.

“Match is over. Luna wins.” Shinobu shouted.

“I didn’t even have to use my class skills, is that really how bad you all are. Wow you need to change your style of fighting.” This got the nobles visibly mad. The commoners were just fine though. I guess they are ok with a more erratic fighting style. The nobles started yelling.

“How dare you mock our noble style.”

“Yeah it is much better then whatever showcase that was” and so on, it kept going until Alice shouted.

“HEY, guess what? They're right!! We need to learn how to adapt and fight against more unfair methods.” That kind of hurt calling it unfair. That’s just how I fight ok.

“We should listen to them anyways, they are really high in the guild.”

“Oh yeah? What rank?” Nathaniel asked. Not expecting the answer they got.

“They are both SS-rank, so how about you actually listen to them.” Alice announced to everyone. That got them to listen.

“SS-RANK!!?!” They all shouted. Shinobu and I smiled.

“So are you ready to learn now or not?” Shinobu asked. They all nodded.

“Well first you need to forget the way you already learned if you learned that garbage way of fighting. Now everyone comes down here. Those who don’t know that way group up. The ones who do come to me.” I said to everyone.

Almost all of the nobles came to me, there were no commoners that came though. So I guess that means that it is only for nobles or whatever.

“Hey what is the style even called?” Shinobu asked before I said anything

“It’s called the ‘two hand stand’ style” Someone said. That is the stupidest thing I heard, it’s not even named after the person who made it. Which is already lazy, but ‘two hand stand’?? Just why? I activated ‘Succuvoice’

“Forget the ‘Two hand stand’ style. Please, the name is as dumb as the style itself PLEASE.” I got really mad at the name of it. After a bit they snapped out of it.

“What fighting style do nobles use?” They all shrugged. None of them knew, great. Now for the next part.

“Shinobu I’m done over here!!” I shouted to her.

“OK!” She shouted back. “Everyone go back over there.” They all come back with Shinobu and I in the front.

“Ok now let’s start with this, everyone get your weapon from over there.” I said pointing over to a rack filled with different types of weapons. When they all came back with their weapons, I was both shocked and not shocked. Most of the nobles got swords which is not that surprising as that is probably what they are told to use by their family. I then added something to my statement.

“If you are forced to pick a weapon due to your family, don’t worry about that. I want you to pick what you want to.” That made people smile and a lot of the nobles went back and got something else. NOW there is some variety. I saw swords both short and long, spears, bows, even some scythes! I want to use a scythe as well, I can probably do it myself. No anchors sadly. Damn, I wanted to hear someone scream ‘TOTSUGEKI’ whenever they attacked. Well time to get to work. We still have a while left though, only 20 minutes in. This is going to be a long day.

“Everyone got their weapons, ok go into groups based on weapons, Shinobu and I will help with basics, of course we will have a hard time with weapons we can’t use, but we will try. They grouped up and I saw Shinobu go straight to the scythes.

“Wait, you can use a scythe?” I asked, shocked.

“Yeah, that is my class weapon, and I think it is one of yours too.” I can, I need to see.

“Ok swordies, I think you know how to use one if that is what you pick. I will come to you after the others.” I first went to the archers to see if they could even hold a bow right. Most of them couldn’t, but one beast girl was already shooting the targets, bullseye after bullseye. 

“Hey, you are really good at this. What’s your name?” I asked.

“Thanks I have been doing this since childhood, my name is Kat and yes cat beastkin, I don’t know why that’s my name.”

“Well since you are obviously better than me at this, can you help the others since I don’t know what to do?”

“Uh ok, I can do that.” She replied, I think her tail is wagging. I want to give her headpats, but she is taller than me so is it I want her to give me headpats?

Shinobu is doing the spears now so I guess it's time for me to help the swordies huh. I went over there and… WHAT THE FUCK!!??! It was awful! How can you mess up with a sword that much. Some of them were stabbing instead of slashing, others were fumbling around and some couldn’t even pick the sword up, they needed help huh. I will try to get them to pick up the sword now and just help later.

“Hey guys. Need help?” I needlessly asked, knowing they do. But what I got was surprising.

“No thanks, we don’t need help from a commoner who is younger than us.” The person who said this was again a noble, this time a girl with long, fiery red hair up in a ponytail. She has long legs with big, plump thighs. Her chest was flat in return and she is really tall. A very round face with a small nose and mouth. with eyes are just as fiery as her hair, wait no, I literally see fire in her eyes. Like the irises are flames moving. Wait now that I look more closely at her hair. It had flames on it too. Not coming out but it’s like a GIF from home where it is like printed on her hair, moving. Strange, I got to ask about that later.

“Are you sure? You might be doing good but the rest… Not so much. One you don’t stab with a sword you slash. If you want to stab, go over to my sister with the spears. And have you noticed that some can’t even pick it up?” I told her as she looked at the others in surprise. She didn’t notice!!!? HOW!!!?

“I guess they do need help but I don’t. I’m probably better than you.” She retorted. I was getting annoyed, I then got an idea.

“Hey how about this, we have a duel like I did with Nat before and if I win you have to join us in practicing. I won’t use any skills or magic and I will only use my knives so you get the range advantage as well. Of course you can use skills and magic.” I suggested

“What do I get if I win?” She asked, “Also my name is Amelia Fyre from the Fyre house. Top house in fire magic. By the way his name is Nathaniel” 

“ I know what I said. AndI don’t care about where you are from, you are just a student to me. And if you win you not only don’t have to participate.” I started smiling. “You get to order me to do ANYTHING for a day.” I said. That got her interested then I shouted. “That goes for everybody, if you beat me you can order me to do anything for a day!” Everyone perked up. Even Shinobu did. I saw her face and it was a mix of surprise and sort of angry at me. I wonder why? Is she scared I might lose on purpose to someone? Don’t worry Onee-chan, I will only lose purposely to you!!

“I accept your conditions. Let's start now.” Amelia said confidently 

“OK I count for you” Someone said from the swordies. “3 2 1 go”

Amelia, unlike Nat, rushed forward at a fast speed, sword ready in her hand. I stopped it with my knife in my left and strafed to the right. I got behind and went for the win. But she blocked it behind her back. She is really good compared to Nat. I rolled back and jumped up. I had my arms in a cross to slash her from the top, and she blocked it again. I started a flurry of attacks. She blocked every one of them and started attacking me back. I dodged each one then remembered I forgot to say something to her.

“By the way” I said while dodging. “You have to kill me to win, so go for the kill. Don’t worry I will stop short.” She looked surprised for a split second then immediately her face turned back. 

I decided to go on the attack again. I flipped over her and rushed forward after landing, putting all of my power and momentum into this attack. She readied to block it and… As we the weapons clanked. Hers broke. I put my sword up to her neck and stopped like I said I would. She was shocked and her hands were trying to grab something that wasn’t there.

“I win,” I said with a smile.” So that means that you have to join our practice huh? Well get ready for that.”

“Hh-h-how did you do that? The weapons are reinforced with magic to not break.” She asked, flabbergasted.

“Well for one, after seeing your speed, physical and reaction speed. I decided the best thing to do was to try and break the sword. Remember the jump at first, that was when I thought of that. And with that first flurry attack I tried to manipulate you into hitting the weaker parts of the sword.” That was when I heard a voice from some sort of speaker.

“We are now going into the second period. All students please go to your next class.” That felt like a quick class. I shouted at everyone.

“You heard, time to go. Tomorrow you will have different people. We won’t be the teachers for this class . So goodbye for now.”

“Alright everyone pack up and put the weapons back” Shinobu shouted after I finished. “Hey Fire hair, we will deal with that one so leave it for now.” That is a good idea. Guess I will have to fix it later huh.

After everyone left Shinobu came to me.

“You know, you are a good teacher. Even though you are really socially awkward. I kinda miss the pathetic you that I just want to protect.”

“What do you mean? I’m not a good teacher. All I did was fight two kids and one of them I just kinda embarrassed in front of the whole class. And I was on edge mentally the whole time. I am not a good teacher, you should have talked more. Well, let's get ready for the next class. Also how did you know that the Scythe is a racial weapon for me when I didn’t even know that?” I said back

“Secret” is all she replied while smiling. Then the second class came in.

“Well let's start again. Hope you don’t blow up again.” She said almost laughing.

Let’s hope this class will be as interesting as the first.
