Chapter 26: Chapter 24-Magic Time

The second period went well despite being twice as big. I see that there is a Noble class and a . At first it was the same, we introduced ourselves, they all complained about us, we showed them we are better and go on. Shinobu and I decided to separate the classes in between the two of us. Shinobu got the noble class while I got the commoner class, due to the fact that I can’t really stand arrogant or people who think they are better than everyone. Hopefully the commoners are more forgiving.

“Hiiii I’m the teacher for today, Luna. First what we will do is pick what weapon you want to use and if you can’t decide, which one fits you most. Of course if you pick one that really doesn’t fit you I will step in and try to help pick a better one.” We didn’t do this before because of time and we will probably help those who need a better weapon later. We should probably tell the other teachers what we are doing huh.

The class was separated into almost equal groups. It seems that they already knew what they wanted but like last time they didn’t know what to do. They knew how to pick up the weapon but not how to use it. I tried helping with the swordies, I tried and failed with helping the others besides the knife group. And the Bows were hopeless, they were holding it backwards. We need to change our plan huh. If one more class is like this. I will open an after school club that they can join. Maybe I should teach them all of the weapons? I will think about it later.

After this awful class was over, I decided to start planning and see if I can learn some of the weapons before the next class.

Since it was time for our class with Shiro, Shinobu and I packed up and went to the classroom after changing into our uniform. When we got there, it was the S-rank class. 

“Uh hi S-rank class.” I said, smiling dryly bracing for the onslaught that is about to happen.

“WHY ARE YOU HERE???!”

“YOU ARE STUDENTS!!!!!?”

“SO YOU ARE BAD HAHAHAHAHA” that last one was Nat. I took out a knife and threw it at him. I was pissed. Thankfully Shiro stopped it, I did this knowing that would happen. It did scare Nat though. 

“Alright Luna, Shinobu sit down over here we are starting.” Shiro said as she motioned us to sit near her.

“Hello class, My name is Shiro and I am proficient in all types of magic. We are going to start by seeing what your magic power and mana amount is.” I thought she was the dark goddess, why can she use all the magic there is. After she said this a giant mirror appeared.

“One by one you will come up and touch the mirror. It will gauge your skill right now, and your maximum potential as well as what element/elements you are best at. We will go by name so Amelia is first.” She went up to the mirror and put her hand on it, and immediately something happened. It had M=10000/35000, MP=10500/35000 and Affinity=____Fire.

“Oh wow off with a bang huh? So Amelia is great. And the blank in front of the fire means that it is a special type of fire magic huh. Ameilia you will have an interesting time in this class fufufu.” Shiro said menacingly.

“Next is Alice.” She called. Hers wasn’t as good at M= and MP= with a dual type of water and wind, but her potential is massive.

“Next is Felix…” for a while it kept going until we were next. Nat was mad that he only had a potential of 4000 each but some had less than 2000 potential. The average was about 5000 in the class. It was Shinobu’s turn and it was shocking

M=/Immeasurable MP=/Immeasurable Affinity= All + ______. 

So she has an insane amount of both current power and potential huh. It was turn next

“Luna come up here, don’t worry I won’t mess with it.” I decided to take her word and went up. When I put my hand on it, I was shocked and burned. I pulled my hand away and glared at Shiro.

“I really didn’t do anything.” She replied. I guess I will believe her. I looked back and what I saw were strange symbols that were changing a lot like a really weird glitch in a game. I backed away and screamed “SHIRO WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING??!!!?” I was really scared. Like what is that?

“I don’t know, I 've never seen it either” Shiro said. She was actually concerned and confused. What is this. Eventually the symbols stopped and they appeared in a line. When it settled it said 

I had… nothing happened, only the symbols were there.

“A-A-Alright class, let's do something else.” Shiro said worried. I don’t know how I feel about her being worried. That means she has a weakness or something, but she doesn’t know what that is. “Ok everyone let’s do this first. Can everyone use magic?” She asked and everyone raised their hand.

“Ok good so let’s go somewhere. Luna, do you have the training area outside unlocked?” Shiro asked me.

“Is it close to my classroom? Because I have that unlocked” I replied. Someone spoke up

“Um it is close to there, in fact there is a door that leads directly there.” They said,

“Thanks Ok everyone gather around Luna for something and if you don’t want to then don’t.” Almost everyone came and the few who didn’t were people like Nat who were really arrogant nobles.

“I don’t have to go near a filthy commoner,” They complained.

“Alright then walk, Luna do it. Oh if you don’t go I will fail you immediately so don’t think you can get out of this.” I activated my ‘Shadow Warp’ skill and we teleported to my classroom. It is about 1 kilometer away from Shiro’s classroom. So it took quite a bit to get there from here. The ones who didn’t come will have much fun rushing huh.

“Alright let’s start as it will take too long waiting for them. I want you to fire your basic level spell at the target.”

“Ok I will go first,” Amelia announced. She is one of the few nobles that came with us. She walked up to the area she was told to go and.. Started chanting something. I know that is a trope or cliche that it is not needed. But I always thought except for one explosive exception. It is really stupid. I mean really? You take 10-30 seconds for a chant and then release that magic. Then you have to do it again. If that is how magic fights are normally, that is really stupid. It's whoever can finish chanting faster. And then if the other person puts up a defensive move or not. It’s just like pokemon. The chant speed of the person is just like whatever pokemon has a better speed stat with the exception of priority moves like quick attack. Point is, chanting is stupid.

After Amelia was done with the chant, fire came out of her hands. It was red, no blue, no orange, no green. What the fuck is happening? It’s changing colors. When she threw it it went to the target dummy and… It exploded in rainbow flames. The dummy was destroyed. But it magically repaired itself shortly after the fire went out.

“Good job, now I know what your affinity is.” Shiro started, I wonder what it is?.

“It is a special fire class that is called ‘Supernova fire’ not to be confused with the Supernova spell. Anyways, the next person goes.” It took a while but it was now Shinobu’s turn. The others all chanted and the ones who didn’t warp with us are still not here yet.

Shinobu walked up to the area and took something out. It was the blood pack Shiro gave her. She bit into it like an apple and started sucking. As the contents of the pack disappeared, her eyes started glowing red. She held up her hand and 10 glowing blood red spikes started to circle her. She shot each one at the dummy and they all punctured the dummy. 

“CHANTLESS MAGIC!!!? THAT'S POSSIBLE???!!” someone shouted. Is it really all that impressive though? It seems better then chanting, but the others finally got here, not knowing what all the commotion is about.

“What’s happening? All I see is a bunch of spears in a dummy, what pathetic magic.” One of them said,

As if waiting for that to happen, Shinobu snapped and the spikes exploded, surprising everyone.

“Hey what's that magic? I have never seen it.” questions like this started showing up when Shiro shouted.

“Hey everyone! That is Shinobu’s special magic only she has due to her race, ‘Blood magic’. Ask her later for more details. Anyways now it is Luna’s turn.” She said smiling knowing damn well I don’t know any attacking magic. I reluctantly went up and thought about what I could do. Do I want a flashy spell or a spell that complements my abilities? I then thought of something. If I can produce a sort of shadow veil to boost my shadow abilities, can I produce dark magic without making it into anything? I imagined myself making the veil but not releasing it. I then imagined something else. A weapon that changed what war is back on earth. A gun, more specifically a sniper due to the fact that it suits my class a lot more than other gun types and for the fact I have a skill called ‘snipe’. With the help of ‘Dark connections’ I shaped it into my own weapon. I will give it a name later but the purpose is to show my magic right? After I was done I activated my viel and went into the shadows. I went as far as I could and got up. I aimed up the non-moving target and pulled the trigger. Almost instantly the head of the dummy was blown off.

“What was that?!!?” Someone asked as I canceled the veil. Sorry but I don’t know either.

“Where is she even?”

“HEY I’M UP HERE!!!!!” I screamed while waving. It turns out I was on the roof of the school.I went back down to the training area and Shiro started talking.

“Congratulations, you learned ‘Shadow construct’. You can make most things with it, from kitchen utensils to weapons. But that was something I had never seen before.”

“Ok don’t ask about it.” I replied

“Anyways, with the exception of Shinobu and Luna, I want you all to learn how to cast without chanting before you do anything. Class dismissed.” As soon as she said that the bell rang. Time for us to get back to our room that is right there huh. Before the student’s came, Shinobu asked me something.

“Hey Luna? Why did you decide to make a gun? Other transfers will immediately know that you are a transfer and probably try to do something to you.” 

“I just wanted a long ranged option and I don’t know how to use magic yet. Besides I have a snipe skill so it really fits.” I answered. “Anyways, let's get ready for the next period. I also might make an after school class for everyone to take. It depends on this class though. So let’s do our best. Right Onee-chan?”

“Right, let's do our best.” And as our conversation ended kids started coming in. It’s time for the B-class.
