So once again the three girls were walking through the streets towards the literal other side of the town while freely letting their gazes wander (except Promicarus who clearly didn’t care).

“Oh~ this place looks cooler compared to shit city~.” <Eel>

“Thou art truly an inexperienced peasant.” <Promicarus>

From a glance it was possible to see that there were many differences between this town as well as the large city & villages which they had passed through. The most obvious was the free usage of stone in developing the roads throughout the city - even back allies which may have been overlooked in {Shanta City}. Never mind the villages which only had stone in the forms of pebbles in the dirty trodden paths which connected them. Perhaps one could say it was simply because the town was smaller than the city while richer than the villages however there was another clear reason; surrounding materials.

Those villages especially were surrounded by woodland while {Shanta City} had been seeking to cut down the {Greenwood Forest} since the invention of the {Orrid Empire}. If either of them wanted a vast amount of stone they would need to have it transported from a quarry, the town meanwhile was literally built in front of a material rich mountain range. It wasn’t just the streets that took advantage of the difference of materials.

The surrounding buildings were clearly quite sturdy with construction being done with mostly stone bricks with cement to strongly bind them. This cement was likely created using materials gained from the large {Moolesh River} - the same with the windows that were present which was something rarer in {Shanta City} which made the observant Emily question which place was truly richer.  Bronze, an ally usually monopolised by the army for mass creating cheap armour quickly to use against the elves, were being used to brace wooden beams.

As a whole there was actually very little wood used in construction which definitely made it appear far different from their slightly more western counterparts.

On top of the buildings the people themselves were also far different; as stated earlier the diversity was far greater than in other parts of the country. Even elven adventures (often either with a bow or staff) could regularly be seen as if the nearest elven kingdom wasn’t essentially at war with the country they were currently in. Then again adventurers didn’t get themselves involved in wars - though some of the people here could be from a mercenary company.

One could say the difference between a mercenary company and adventurers would be that mercenaries tend to get far more involved with the institutions through direct contracts. Whether it be working for a merchant in order to guard a mine, acting as security for a building or acting as a military unit in a war though that tended to be between territories rather than entire countries. Still it wasn’t as if they restricted themselves much to the types of jobs - mostly depending on which company you worked for depended on the jobs.

<According to Ali mercenaries fall into categories of righteous and black companies - often the black companies were made from Whale Adventurer Guilds that became fat enough. A lot of those companies will allegedly also attack settlements of attractive, fascinating or useful races to sell to best seller whether directly or through slaves. With that being the case it wouldn’t be surprising if Orrid managed to rope in some mercenary companies, even if they did not, I find it unlikely they wouldn’t be hired by slavers directly.>

Thinking such things in her mind, Eel soon found herself looking upon a building which was far more titanic than those around it with a large front entrance with the adventurer logo above.

Even when compared to adventurers guild in {Shanta City} the {Moolesh Mountain Town Adventurer Guild} made the former look miniscule. Like every building there was a whole lot of stone made to use it yet only the ground floor was made from the uniform stone bricks - the second floor up actually was made from stone fragments within cement. That was except for a large warehouse on the left that essentially could be a guild building in of itself that many hunted monsters were being dragged into.

Just as many slabs of meat, bones & organs from monsters were brought out by a large assortment of merchants, smiths & alchemists. No building Eel or Emily had ever seen had been this busy, with people constantly coming in then out the many entrances, except for maybe the brothel when it was 50% off for a session with the courtesans.

From the entrance came lots of boisterous laughter from the main entrance while a thick scent of alcohol and burnt meat made Eel’s fluffy tails wag happily. Practically led by her nose which cutely twitched - the prince charming led her fellows into the guild. Upon entering they were met with the sight of a busy eatery with many shirtless men drinking as if today was the last day to live and they were going to make the most out of it.

“Something is certainly refreshing about this after all the gloom due to the war…” <Emily>

“Ha~! Thou art to consider this better than every place in this trash country that only knows nothing but quashing the unfortunate or different.” <Promicarus>

“Huh~ should we not be talking more about averages in that case since I am sure there are some nice places such as {Elizabeth’s Paradise Cradle} in Shanta~!” <Eel>

“*Snort*!” <Promicarus>

After another look around it wasn’t difficult to see that it was like every other guild with the mission boards, various counters and pretty &/or handsome manning them. Just from the entrance the girls could see the mission board was full of missions - even the A-rank mission board had plenty of choices from the loos. With Eel’s sight though she managed to read quite a few missions through the swarm of people which resulted in her tearing up for a second before bringing a finger to wipe them away.

“So beautiful~...” <Eel>

From top to bottom there were possibly hundreds if not thousands of different beasts that were put up as requested for their materials; few were actually urgent exterminations though. Already that made Eel’s heart pang since they wouldn’t be spending much time in this city which made her shoulders sag while both her fuzzy purple ears & tails joined. That act made Emily who witnessed it turn away while covering her quickly reddening face in her hands to control herself.

<Shame I will not be able to spend my time here… Wait, if I make it to Gobberz which is even deeper into the mountain range, would not the range as well as the amount of high-ranking extermination quests be even greater than they are here?! Now I understand why Fuka suggested we go to {Gobberz Kingdom} - it truly is the best country~!>

By now the fox was practically salivating at the thought of all the hunting she’d be able to do in the near future should she survive!

<Guess I will have to give it my all then~!>

With that in mind the excited beast began to charge forth making many a grown man fall on his ass while appearing as if nothing could stop her. Having seen her first hand go from depressed to super-active left both her companions confused - especially Promicarus who had no idea how much danger a rogue thought from the girl had put her in. Still that didn’t stop the pair from quickly chasing after the blood prince who slammed her guild card on the desk of a very surprised guild member.

“Heyo~ we are here to get our reward for a completed quest as well as to get acceptance from the guild leader to continue on with our primary quest~!” <Eel>

The poor dog-kin man could only blink a few times while trying to slowly break down the very rapidly spoken request of the receptionist. Nevertheless he was a competent person so quickly took her card before putting it into the card reader to overlook her request; upon doing that the unfortunate man had his eyes shot out as did his mouth. Quickly he shook his head then proceeded to press a few things on his machine before pulling the card out.

“As the team leader I’ve processed the payment into your account {Adventurer Prince}, if you’ll just wait a second I’ll send a request up as well. It couldn’t take too long for one of my companions to arrive to take you up to meet our branch leader. Unfortunately with how busy our branch is I cannot accompany you.” <Dog-kin Receptionist>

Eel clearly wasn’t worried as she simply waved her hand with that same confident smirk.

“No need to worry about it; makes sense this place would be busy with how much juicy prey is just laying in wait over the horizon~!” <Eel>

In response the guild member just gave a bitter smile as it was already written clear as day under the ‘personal notes of interest’ in her profile exactly how she was. It could be said that nobody was better at being an adventurer than she was yet that also meant her personality was far different from what many considered ‘normal’. Though it wasn’t as if no battle junkies ever existed or they wouldn’t have such a tag within the personal notes.

Though having ‘pervert’, ‘beast’, ‘alcohol kleptomaniac’, ‘confrontational’, ‘literal hero’ & ‘danger to clients’ certainly made her a little bit more unique than the average battle junkie…
