Penelope admired Kyle. He wasn’t a person who would ever commit a crime, and he would rather jump off the roof of the Imperial City than fall in love with the criminal.
There must be a good reason for all of Kyle’s actions.
“… Sigh.”
After a moment, Penelope turned off the recorder. Investigators should not make any judgments based on personal feelings during the investigation. However, Penelope decided to keep quiet about this.
It was not too late to ask him after the trial of Eleonora Asil. In addition, if a scandal between the captain and Eleonora Asil broke out now, the Investigative Security Bureau, which was already busy with paperwork, might explode with even more work. So what would this result in?
“Overtime …”
Penelope smiled and sent the videos to the forensic team, then locked the chip that held the records in the desk drawer. As she did so, someone knocked on the office door.
Penelope made sure nothing showed on her face and called out.
“Yes. Come in … huh, Minister?”
A smiling man suddenly entered the office. The man’s hair was a shiny blonde that instantly brightened the dull office.
“Long time no see, Penelope.”
“Oh, what brings you here?”
“I found that we were involved in the attack on the train to Edmans last time, so I came here because I heard it’s confidential, but the Captain doesn’t seem to be here.”
“Captain is in the middle of an interrogation. It’s an unwritten rule not to interrupt during an interrogation. Would you be okay to wait?”
“Yes. Could you find out how long it will take?”
“Yes. Hold on.”
Whilst Penelope approached the right wall to reach the phone to contact the investigator in the interrogation room, the minister curiously circled around the office and approached the desk. He then sat on the desk, turned the key in the lock in the front drawer, and opened it. His hand pulled out a chip the size of a nail from the drawer.
“Okay, Paul. When do you think the investigation will be done? Nothing else. The Magic Minister is here. Yes, because of the terrorist incident in Edmans. Oh, yeah.”
Penelope hung up and looked back.
“I’m sorry, Minister, but today …”
“Oh, is it difficult?”
“Yes. I’m sorry. There’s an issue.”
“You’re right. His opponent is Eleonora. He always has a hard time with her.”
Adrian grinned as he leaned against the desk, then stood up.
“Is the trial tomorrow? If so, then I’ll come back the day after tomorrow.”
“Yes. Do you have anything else to tell the Captain?”
“It’s okay. “
Tak.
Adrian left the office. Ting. The chip bounced into the air over his hand and then disappeared into his hand.
The next morning, the trial of Eleonora Asil began.

I’m going through a lot of things that I’ve never experienced in my past life after coming to this world. Noah thought deeply as she sat in the defendant’s seat in the middle of the court.
‘But I’ve been in the interrogation room for the past few days, and the judge is not very scary…’
Kyle was worried that Noah would cry again, and so while bringing her there, he continued to reassure Noah that the trial was only a formality. Kyle even explained the expected progress of the trial and as if it wasn’t enough, gave her a script to follow. Kyle continued until Noah thought her brain would burst as he wanted her to remember and do as he said.
“Don’t use magic just because you’re angry. Just don’t think about anything, just answer what you memorized, okay?”
The trial would be held under the emperor’s observation, with the Minister of Justice taking over as a judge. The prosecutor pursuing Noah’s sentence was, of course, her exclusive investigator, Kyle Leonard, and Noah’s defense was a specially hired lawyer named Jerald.
Of course, the trial was expected to last up to 30 minutes at the most, as an agreement was already made between the three leading the trial.
As Noah looked around, she found the emperor in the flashy cloak of royalty in a seat on the second floor which overlooked the judge. The ends of his brown hair were curled up as if they had been burnt.
Noah tilted her head curiously, but she quickly realised why when she found a child sat proudly on his cape at his feet.
Muel looked around and saw her waving from the bottom and immediately clung to the railing.
‘What? Why do you have a tail?’
Poking out of Muel’s bum was a black arrow-shaped tail. Muel shook his tail in excitement toward her. Muel suddenly bit the emperor’s hand that was trying to stop him.
“Ugh!”
Noah thought she heard a small scream, but it must have been an illusion…
Noah wasn’t sure if she should laugh or cry as she watched the emperor panic but not dare to touch the dragon. The emperor rubbed his bitten hands and opened his mouth solemnly.
