The rest of the journey was uneventful. We passed an open road which overlooked a forest, this was a known area for bandits to attack.

 

But they probably didn’t attack because they saw the Duke’s emblem.  It’s good being the son of a powerful family.

 

After sometime we entered the capital city of the Dukedom, Arkville.

 

This city looked prosperous unlike Rosewell, which was a border town.

 

There were many different buildings, some luxurious ones as well, they belonged to the nobles under Ackerman Duchy.

 

The streets were also bustling with people.

 

It was almost similar to the imperial capital, only in a smaller scale, both in size and wealth.

 

Everyone who saw the Duke’s carriage, made way for it and bowed to it as it passed them.

 

With the weather being bright and sunny from the start of my journey, the journey was indeed comfortable.

 

After sometime the estate of the Duchy came into view/ It was huge, covering a large area of land, about 10 American football fields in total in size.

 

The main mansion was surrounded by many gardens, other houses, training grounds and facilities.

 

The main mansion was white in colour and had a blue roof.

 

After sometime we arrived in front of the Duchy’s gate. It was a huge 5 meters tall metal gate and was surrounded by equally tall white walls.

 

The gate was black in colour and had the coat of arms of the Duchy engraved on it, half in each of the doors. So, closed the emblem is completed.

 

It was guarded by 2 guards dressed in the navy blue uniform of the Ackerman Duchy. When they saw the carriage, they immediately bowed and opened the door.

 

I saw them inform the mansion of my arrival through a communication orb they have in their booth, situated inside the gate.

 

We went to the main mansion through the straight main path, it was surrounded by different types of flower plants.

 

The carriage stopped in front of the main mansion. Cindy got out first and held the door open for me.

 

As I got out, I saw, several maids in black and white maid outfits and butlers in black butler suits with white shirts, standing on two sides of the entrance.

 

Upon seeing me they all bowed saying, “Welcome back, young master.”.

 

Man, this feels both good and surreal. I don’t know, if I can get used to this.

 

Standing in between them were my father and mother. My father Duke Ivan Ackerman was a tall man, a few inches taller than me at the moment, who had red hair and clear blue eyes and a very handsome face, he was wearing a white military uniform of the Duke.

 

My mother Duchess Valerie Ackerman was a very beautiful woman, with blond hair and green eyes, she was wearing a light blue dress.

 

As soon as I got off, she hugged me saying, “Sweetie or you alright? I missed you so much. Don’t worry mommy is there is for you.”.

 

I hugged her too and awkwardly said, “Mom I am ok, don’t worry. As I said, I am over her, so you don’t have to worry.”.

 

Sheesh, I know I am her only child but there are people watching. It’s really awkward to be treated like a child here, though it does feel good as I lacked this sort of stuff in my previous life.

 

After she let go, I looked at my father and he said, “Welcome back.”. And I nodded.

Mother said, “You must be tired from your journey. Go take a bath and then we can have lunch together and then you can sleep.”.

 

I nodded and said, “Yes, mother.”. And so, I proceeded to my room. The servants took care of the luggage.

 

After I took a bath, I wore the clothes Cindy prepared for me. They were a white T-shirt and black pants.

 

I waited for lunch to be served. After a few minutes I heard a knock at the door.  

 

KNOCK! KNOCK!

 

“Come in.”, I said. “Young master, lunch is served.”, said the head butler and father’s personal butler Sebastian, who came to call me, both his hair and mustache was pure white.

 

“Yes, I am coming.”, I said. And I walked to the dining room with Cindy following me.

 

As I opened the door of the dining room, I saw both my father and mother already seated.

 

It was a long dining table, having six chairs on both sides and one chair each at the top and bottom.

 

Father was seated at the top chair used for the head of the family and mother on the right seat next to him.

 

The servants were standing by the wall waiting. By the way the estate was luxuriously decorated, with chandeliers everywhere and expensive furniture and expensive portraits on walls.

 

Mother saw me and patted the chair next to her saying, “Come and sit here.”.

 

I obediently went to sit there, Cindy pulled the chair and me. “Ok, now serve the food.”, said father.

 

And then the servants bought different types of food, like chicken, pork, bread, various vegetables, soup etc.

 

The tableware was made of silver. “Eat plenty sweetie.”, said my mother and I nodded. Though to be honest I should cue on the food intake if I want to be slim, but I didn’t want to waster food so I ate as much as I could.

 

I just have to lose the weight through exercise. We talked about my school life during the lunch.

 

By the way I should mention, the arrangement of day, date and time is the same as in my previous life. The summer break occurred in June and July. And the winter break in December.

 

After conversing for some time, I decided to speak the thing I wanted to discuss the most.

 

I decided to not beat around the bush and said, “Father, mother, I decided to train for tomorrow. Please arrange a good swordsmanship instructor for me and mother, please teach me magic.”.

 

This is a good time to mention that my family is not known for military or martial arts prowess, it is a family involved in civil matters for generations. My father is the current finance minister of the empire.

 

Mother however comes from a family of talented mages and is a talented mage herself, though she is not an Arc Mage.

 

So, I have to depend on my family’s knights to get swordsmanship training, but I am limited in what I can learn as neither of them are sword-masters, just sword-experts.

 

The same goes for mother, I cannot learn beyond a certain level. But that’s ok as I still have a long way to go when I reach that bottleneck. I can decide what to do when I reach that level.
