By the time Cyclo woke up, he was already behind bars.

When he heard about the situation from the guard, it seemed that he was going to be put on trial, but Cyclo had not yet given up hope.

(…… There should be no evidence to prove that I am the culprit. If I plead my case properly, I should be acquitted of the crime.)

With this in mind, he sat in jail for several days, waiting for the day of his trial.

And then – three days later. For the trial, Cyclo was let out of jail in handcuffs.

The trial was a simple one, held in a simple courtroom attached to the guardhouse, not in a grand courtroom.

If the results were not satisfactory, the case would be appealed and tried again in a larger court controlled by the Knights of the Kingdom.

Therefore, Cyclo thought that there would not be many witnesses or observers.

But – in fact – there was quite a large number of bystanders.

“……Why are there so many people?”

“Stop wasting your breath!”

As Cyclo muttered a simple question, the guard poked him in the back.

Cyclo thought that he didn’t have to go this far, since he didn’t stop in his tracks, but since he wasn’t in a position to complain, he had no choice but to keep quiet and walk on.

So when Cyclo takes his seat, the trial for the alleged serial rapist begins.

“Well, the trial will now begin. First, we will hear a summary of the charges from the chief of the guard, Bujin Boujacque.”

At the words of the man who appears to be the presiding judge, one of the guards – the man who had accused Cyclo of the rape crime- stands up and takes the stand.

“Well, about this case. Actually, I have been investigating it for some time. I have learned that this man, Cyclo, has been paying the street thugs to clear people out and then raping the victims! What a scumbag!!”

Bujin, the real culprit, speaks passionately. Of course, there was no way Cyclo would be convinced by such an argument.

“That’s not true! I did no such thing! Besides, I don’t have that much money to give away!”

I testified to the contrary.

But Bujin grinned, as if he had been waiting for me.

“I wonder if that’s true? Then let’s have the witnesses come in!”

Bujin says, and a man enters the courthouse.

He then took the stand to replace Bujin.

The man was a scruffy-looking street thug – one of the men who had been receiving money from Bujin, whom Cyclo recognized.

“Hehehe. Actually, I got the money from my big brother. It’s true that he asked me to clear people out. I didn’t know what he was going to do with it, though.”

The man’s testimony causes a stir among the bystanders. It was believed as if the testimony of a street thug was the complete truth.

However, Cyclo could not accept such false testimony.

“I’ve never done such a thing! Besides, I am not rich enough to pay so much money to anyone! I had my hands full living on my own!”

“Lying is not a good thing, defendant!”

Bujin is unfazed by Cyclo’s rebuttal and smirks.

“Then let’s have a new witness come forward to expose those lies!”

Bujin says – another new witness enters the courtroom.

The person was so unexpected that the bystanders raised a surprised gasp here and there.

Cyclo, too, could not believe what he was seeing.

“No… How could Maria be on your side ……?”

Yes. The person who stood on the witness stand as if replacing a street thug was Cyclo’s former fiancée, who is now a well-known saint.

Maria Florence, the person in question, was standing there.

(T/N: Uhhh, just the thought of this kind of situation happening makes me wonder what kind of change he will have in his personality after this trial.)
