Once the verdict was made, Cyclo was sent back to jail temporarily.

The next day, the preparations to send him to the frontier were ready.

It was all too soon, but Cyclo did not even have the energy left to doubt it.

“–Come on out!”

The guards open the jail and pull Cyclo out with force.

Just like that, a metal choker is put into his neck, the sign of a criminal slave.

“……Which frontier am I going to be sent to?”

Cyclo asks the guard. There are many frontiers to be sent to, after all.

The guard must have intended to inform him of this from the beginning. He answered easily.

“You will be sent to the northern frontier, North Folia. There, you will be placed in the custody of the Adventurers’ Guild and given the task of assisting adventurers in conquering the “worst dungeons” in the region. –In short, he is a baggage carrier.”

Cyclo was relieved, in a way, to be told. He thought that in the northern frontier and as a baggage carrier, although the environment was harsh, there was no immediate danger of death.

For example, this country, the Kingdom of Heinburg, is at war with the Lustgard Empire, the country ruled by the Demon King. If he was sent to the border, there is a high possibility that his life would be easily used as a sacrificial pawn.

Compared to such an environment, Cyclo’s situation was still better.

Nevertheless, he was sent there on a false accusation to begin with. It did not make him feel any better.

–On the other hand, at that time. In a room in the guardroom.

Bujin Boujacque and Raven Crowhart, the Hero, were having a secret meeting.

“–Thanks to you, I managed to fool them somehow. Thank you so much.”

“Don’t worry about it. It wasn’t a bad thing for me either.”

Hero Raven was not wearing the atmosphere of justice that he had shown during the trial, and he was smiling a vile smile similar to Bujin’s.

That’s right, this Raven had teamed up with Bujin to undermine Cyclo.

“But, Sir hero. How in the world did you get the Saint to testify like that?”

“Hmm? Ahhh. That one. Maria’s testimony is simply a fact. Unfortunately–she didn’t know that someone in the church had embezzled the money and destroyed the letters.”

“I see.”

That’s right — the method used to falsely accuse Cyclo was quite simple, but it was also the product of coincidence.

Maria’s testimony was true, and she had sent the money and letter to Cyclo.

But because the work was left to the Church people, that’s where the fraud occurred.

Combined with the bad impression that the Saint was concerned about someone with unknown origins, the letters never reached Cyclo.

“Anyway, it was convenient for me too. Because you told me that you wanted to falsely accuse this Cyclo fellow of being a criminal slave, that made Maria disappointed of him, too. All I have to do now is comfort the heartbroken Maria…”

Hero Raven smiles a wicked smile that does not fit his title.

“Hehe, I see that you like it too, Sir Hero.”

“Hmph, I guess that makes two of us. Originally, my connection with you was about a woman too.”

“Certainly, there’s no difference. Heh heh heh!”

Thus, Cyclo was sent to the frontier as a criminal slave, thanks to the wicked and vile schemes of the two men.
