Chapter 17: Aoyama Nanami: Day 8 (1)

On a school rooftop. A woman napping on one of the benches. The door on the rooftop is locked since the key is in her but suddenly someone is able to open it and that person walks toward the woman.

"For a female teacher like you sleeping here is a bad role model, do you know it?"

"I don't care. And you, for a male honor student like you to cut in class is a bad role model, do you know it?"

"I don't care."

They look at each other.

(Pfft)(Pfft) and they laughed at the same time.

The female teacher gets up and sits as a male student sits next to her. 

"Hey, there are other benches here."

"Does it bother you to sit next to me?"

"F-foolish! W-w-what are you talking about? You're 10 years too early for that." She stutters as he thought that she is cute while he is smug.

"Hmph!"

Since then they started to meet almost every day on the rooftop and unconsciously be closed to each other.

"Hey who's that?"

The female teacher saw a pink-haired anime girl wearing a maid clothes wallpaper on his phone.

"This? Oh! Her name is Kirisu Mafuyu, she's my favorite waifu this season."

"Only this season?"

"Well, there are many animes and mangas that will be coming in the next seasons so… yah. I can't explain what I wanted to say but my favorite waifu changes every season but I'll never forget them."

"You fricking weeb."

"Pft~" And the male student laughed.

Talking to each other every day, they formed a secret relationship. They are very happy whenever they are together however one day, the male student decided something stupid.

"I wanted to have a harem!!!"

"No!!!" An immediate answer.

Birds chirping, cold surroundings, and the opening of lights from houses are usually happening before the sunrise.

In an unnamed apartment building, unit 309. Kei is awake and thought of taking some exercise like sprinting outside.

Although it's very chill in the morning he continues sprinting for half an hour in the streets nonstop and returned to the entrance of his apartment building.

He breathed deeply once after he sprinted. He reached the door to go in. He climbed to stairs and go to his unit. He rests for about 10 minutes in his dining area as he drinks water.

He stood up as he go towards his bathroom to take a bath. After a few moments, he finished as he take his towel and go to his room to get dressed.

He decided to sprint as his daily exercise to experiment with his system. Proficiency menu is something you can get a passive skill and training is something you can increase a stats by doing an action repeatedly so he thought that his agility might increase if he do this every day.

He opens the system and takes a self status to look if there are any changes but unfortunately nothing.

'Then I'm gonna try tomorrow too.' He thought as he is now in his kitchen, cooking his breakfast.

In Ogata Udon Shop. Nanami's shift is already finished.

'This is my first day in the convenience store.' 

Going out of the shop, she changed his blue kimono uniform into a yellow-orange t-shirt and blue jeans.

Walking out the street, she met someone she knows.

"Hello, Kei."

"Hello, Nanami, are you out again for your voice acting class?"

"Y…y…yes, I'm gonna go first. See you later."

And she immediately flew away. 

'She's suspicious' He look at her back and think about the reason why he thought that her action is suspicious but he didn't get any idea. He can use his Novel Proficiency but he didn't do it since he felt that she is not in danger. But it didn't mean that he is not curious about where really she would go.

He continues to walk. Arriving there, he opens the Udon shop's door.

"Welcome! Oh—Kei you here!" 

The one who greets him is Megumi. She is now cleaning the vacant tables. 

"Oh— Megumi, I'm sorry that I'm a bit late."

"Don't worry about it and go up to change while the boss still didn't see you."

Suddenly someone shouts from the kitchen.

"I might not see you but I'm not deaf."

Rizu's dad is still cooking the meats and the flavored soup of the udon.

Hearing it, he immediately goes up and changes to his uniform. It didn't take long and he goes down to help them.

However, while those things happen earlier, Rizu is silently staring at him. He noticed her eyes so he thought if he have a sin that has been committed to her but nothing comes to his mind so he didn't bother her… for now. 

This kind of behavior might lead to something else. He might watch and read too much that has a yandere character in his past life that leads to this kind of ominous feeling that he felt towards Rizu.

"Is there something wrong, Kei?" Megumi heard it so she is curious about what he talked about.

"Nothing" and he waves his hand.

She didn't force him and replied "okay" to him.

'System… Affection view… Target Rizu.'

'Other than affection, it didn't show any status' He takes a note in his mind. 

Suddenly a customer goes out as someone comes in. He saw this and knows what it means, he needed to move again.

"See you tomorrow!~" Finishing his shift, Kei says goodbye.

"See you tomorrow" Rizu replied to him since she is the only person who would stay. Well, this is her house too. 

Megumi bowed his head to Rizu as Rizu does too before she and Kei goes out.

Walking in the streets, they talk to each other like they are the only person in the world. Smiles and laughs. Smirks and teases. Even though this walk is short, they slowly come to understand each other. Feeling the happiness, their bonds get stronger than before. 

However, all things have come to end. They arrived at the intersection where they always crossed paths.

"So… tomorrow?"

"Mmm… tomorrow" 

A bit of sorrow can be felt in this scene as Megumi walks away from him.

Even though she knows that they can meet again tomorrow, she can't help but feel lonely whenever they separate.

After all, for Megumi, Kei is an exceptional person who can detect her presence. However, this mindset creates a path for Kei in her heart.

As Megumi disappears from the horizon, Kei continues to walk but he didn't expect to witness an incident when he peeks into some random alley.

"HELP!!! HELP!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!! SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE!!!!" Nanami shouts loudly.

"Oujo-chan, no matter what you shout, no one will hear you. This alley rarely passes by people."

There are three men surrounding her right now. One is Tall and muscular but with a normal face, another is a tall but handsome one among them, and the last one is fat and ugly bastard.

Earlier in the 6/9 convenience store. Nanami is waiting for the next pair in the next shift. This store always has a pair of people on every shift. Her co-worker senior, Asami Yuuki, leave early and the reason is related to her family. She didn't specify but Nanami felt that it is a problem.

As another pair on the next shift arrived, she changed to her clothes. However, while she was exiting the 6/9 convenience store, accidentally she collided with three men. She said sorry to them however they didn't let her pass.

"Hey, cutie saying sorry is not enough…" The taller man who is handsome among them let out a disgusting smile on his face while he said this. He put his hand on her chin. "…But if you're really sorry you need to use your body." The other men disgustingly grin. 

Nanami look at her co-workers but they suddenly disappeared from the counter. Loss of hope, sorrow, and sadness. That's what she felt right now. However, she didn't let herself defeat by those emotions. She steels herself and glares at them.

As the other men were about to bind her, she slaps their hands and runs away. She got away from them but unfortunately, she got cornered. She mistakenly goes on the left street while going to the nearest police station on the right street. 

Nanami came from Osaka so she is still progress in memorizing the streets here in Tokyo.

Fearing her life might be destroyed now, she close her eyes and open her mouth.

"HELP!!!!!!!!....." 

Ugh* ack* ahhh~~*

"Are you okay?" 

She heard a familiar voice.
