Chapter 16: Kirisu Mafuyu: Day 7 (End)

Yesterday (Day 6), Nanami and Rizu are talking to each other.

"Hey, Rizu... if I say I like Kei, what would you do?"

Today (Day 7), In a cool breezy morning in the Ogata Udon Shop. A girl named Ogata Rizu is now sweeping outside of her house. Ignoring the cold morning, she continues to sweep. She didn't do this because she wanted but rather her body is used to doing this every day.

Finishing it, she places the broom in its place and she goes into her house. Opening the door, she saw Nanami walking down the stairs. She wears an orange sweater and a white long skirt with a blue flower design on it. They silently look at each other for seconds before Nanami talks.

"Good morning"

"Good morning"

"Where are you going?"

"I'm gonna do some errands?"

"Errands?" Rizu tilted her head.

"Don't worry it's not that big. See you later." And Nanami goes out as Rizu watch this.

Peeking from the door, Rizu looks at her back while Nanami walks away as she remembered what she said yesterday.

"Hey, Rizu... if I say I like Kei, what would you do?"

"Huh?! What are you talking about?"

Rizu makes a puzzled face as Nanami makes a confused face.

"Is my assumption wrong?" Nanami muttered loudly and Rizu continues to talk.

"Hey, what are you talking about?"

"Nothing."

'It seems that this is not the time to talk about that.'

"I don't know what are you talking about but are you seriously liking that man?"

"No, no, I'm just joking so let's move on and go in since this night is starting to get cold."

"Oh" 

Rizu goes in first as Nanami looks at her back.

'It seems that it's too early for her to notice it. I hope that she notices it sooner if not, she might regret it later.' And Nanami goes in too.

'It's already 9 a.m and the weather slowly becoming hot right now but still, no one wanted to accept me.' 

As of now, Nanami roaming in a street to get another job. It's not that she is out of money but the money she gets from being a waitress in the Udon shop is only enough for her rent and food. 

A few days ago she run away from her home but she didn't know where she would live so she decided to go to her father's friend's house and there she would stay but instead of temporary stay, she, fortunately, got accepted her negotiation to work there as a paid-for her stay. There is no problem for the owner and her daughter, Rizu, since the shop also needs some helpers.

Rizu is technically her childhood friend. Their family is very close that they often go on trips in the past. Well now, they rarely go on trips since Nanami and Rizu are focused on their studies.

Some of you may know and some are not but the reason why she had to run away is because of her dream to become a voice actress. Her parents didn't approve of her dream and slipped to say that she can't even stand on her own feet, that's why she run away to show that she didn't need their help and to make them acknowledge her dream.

Walking in the streets, she saw another flier that was posted on an electric pole about a part-time job in a convenience store.

'6/9 convenience store? is the store owner a stupid person? His or her naming sense is messed up. But I'm in no position to say that since I need another job right now.'

Her voice acting classes fee is quite high… for her, that's why she is a bit desperate about having another job.

She take the poster and decided to go to the address that was written there.

Arriving there she saw a familiar person who had just gotten out of the convenience store.

'Is that Kei?' She vaguely saw the man so she is not sure if that person is really Kei. The man she saw already got a far distance from her. 

'I will ask him tomorrow if he has a time.' She didn't mind it and go to the convenience store.

"Welcome!" Nanami was greeted by a girl with dyed blonde hair, brown eyes, lightly tanned skin, a slender body, and wearing a green and white stripe staff uniform who is in the counter. She goes there as she shows the flier.

"Is the convenience store still needing some people?"

"Yes, do you want to apply?"

"Yes"

"Okay then wait here a bit I'm gonna call the owner."

"Thank you"

And the girl walks away. Some minutes later, she got back and was accompanied by an old lady.

"Are you the one who wanted to be hired here?"

"Yes"

"Do you have some requirement papers?"

"Yes, here" Nanami reaches for her a brown envelope. The old lady opens it and reads the papers."

Some minutes later it finished.

"Good. You're hired. You can start tomorrow." Then the old lady looks at the girl beside her. "Asami!"

"Yes?!"

"Then I need to go back to my room and… watch some drama shows." The old lady murmurs the last part as she walks away.

"I'm Asami Yuuki, your name?"

"Aoyama Nanami"

"Then Nanami-chi follow me"

'Nanami-chi???' Nanami let a wry smile as she follows her.

In the unnamed apartment building unit 308. Seeing her falling down, Kei wakes up because Mafuyu got unconscious. All of that happened in an instant and the reason is her own misunderstanding and overthinking.

"Hey, Are you okay? Wake up…" He shakes her body but she is still out of consciousness. He decided to lift her and take her to her bed.

'What happened to her? Did she get sick?'

Not knowing what happened, he intrudes into her kitchen and gets a glass of water. Before going back, he thought to look at her fridge if she have some light foods to eat for her. He saw some fruits and decided to pick an apple. He use her knife and cut it on the chopping board as he took a plate and place the apple there.

Going out of the kitchen, he places the water and the apple on a near table and tries to wake her again.

"Mafuyu~ Mafuyu~," he said while tapping her shoulder but still she didn't wake up. 

'Then I need to do my plan 2… take care of her until she wakes up.' Since she only lost her consciousness and still breathing fine, he didn't get exaggerated it like calling immediately to the hospital or something like that. Well, he is a calm man.

However, instead of taking care, it's more like guarding her since he only needs to do it until she wakes by herself. Some moments later, she wakes up.

"Are you okay? Does anything hurt?"

He said as he give him a glass of water.

"No, I'm okay now. I'm sorry for taking care of me."

"No, it's nothing. But don't force yourself to stand now and take a rest."

They might not be that close to each other since they recently know each other but it doesn't mean that he will help her half-heartedly and leave her in this kind of state. Since he does it, he will give his all. Well, this is a noble way to say that he wanted her affection to increase.

Seeing his worried expression, she didn't try to argue and listen to him. She didn't leave her bed for almost an hour as she tries to take a rest and didn't think any unnecessary thoughts.

While she's resting, Kei on the hand cooking in her kitchen. It was already past noon so he wanted to eat but he didn't want to leave her that's why he was using her kitchen. Well, if there's a punishment then he is ready but he hopes nothing.

He decided to cook curry since that's the only thing he can do using the ingredients in her fridge. He starts with rice first and then the curry to cook.

After he finished to cooked the curry, he served it. 

"Thank you"

"No need, after all the ingredients are yours and I didn't get your permission to intrude your kitchen."

"It's okay. If not for you I might get caught a cold from sleeping on the floor."

"Then let's stop this and start to eat before it gets cold."

"Um," she nodded.

Kei sits as Mafuyu gets up from her bed and sits across him then start to eat.

Saying goodbye, she takes him outside. However, as she look at him with cloudy eyes, an unexpected happened before she closed the door. 

"I miss you, Kei." Mafuyu said as she kissed him passionately as inserted her tongue into his mouth.

'Eh?! What is happening?' But he didn't fight her kiss and decided to go with the flow. They kissed until Mafuyu stops.

"SORRY!!!" she bowed and close the door.

Many things roam in their minds but one thought is the same.

(What happened to me?)(What happened to her?) They thought at the same time.

Using his system, he immediately uses the new function: affection view to Mafuyu but…

Before he completed his sentence, the blue screen changed.

He put his hands on his head and make a painful expression.

"I might need some rest." And he goes into his apartment unit.
