The sun has completely set, it is dark — the night had dawned here at the village market of Your-Resting-Place.
The only lighting in this place was the lamp that shone from every store situated in the market.
The same as it is in the Dango stand that I'm currently in.
"Let's tidy up," Kana spoke to me. She stood up and carried Syri on her breast.
"Yeah. Let's do that. I'll help you boss-lady." I agreed with what she said and purposely called her that.
"Boss-lady? Why?"She asked, curious about the way I called her.
"You're my boss now right?" I smiled as I asked.
"Hmm…" She puckered her lips and thought about it and said, "Indeed… I am. But I don't want you to call me that. I don't like it. Just call me Kana." She said with a resolute expression.
"But I don't want to ~ " I teasingly said.
"Call me KANA. Okay?" She said emphasizing her name while giving me that chilling smile.
'Scary ~'
"I wanted to call you Darling though…" I pushed for more.
I don't know but I'm betting my father's brief that this girl here is Erica's reincarnation or something.
She resembles her in many places.
How could I conclude that when I had just met her?
I am 101% putting my trust in my instincts.
But I still got to figure that out; if my speculation is true or not.
Since I'm going to stay with her, I got the time in my life to investigate it.
"-ey! Shin! Hey." I heard Eri — Kana's shout which brought me out from my internal monologue. Her face was close to mine to the point I can feel her breath.
*Ba-dump*
'What?!' That surprised me.
"What's wrong? Why are you spacing out?" She asked me with a concerned tone.
"Hmm? No. There is nothing wrong." I answered with a neutral tone while still, her face was close to me.
"Ha? Stop talking shit. I heard you say you want to call me D-A-R-L-I-N-G earlier." She emphasized the word darling, pulled herself back, and continued with a teasing tone, "Areh ~ I thought you said that the act was done? What are you suggesting, hmm?" She asked me, while she had a smirk on her face.
"Nah, I just had the wrong timing to say that and had to think of something," I said honestly, looking not bothered and sincere about it.
"If you say so. Anyways, I'm fine if you call me darling too." She said and gave me a beautiful smile but that later change to a cold one as she said,
"But be ready about it, I'm going to make you take responsibility for it."
"..."
'Uwah, it's not like I'm taking her virginity by calling her darling right? Right?'
I ask myself. I don't know what's the custom morals in this world but if what I'm thinking about is true then…
'That's fucked up!'
"...Either way you are taking responsibility for me. You won't ever escape my grasp… not anymore." She said resolutely. I can see an imaginary flame in her eyes igniting her determination.
"What? Are you planning of marriage already?" I asked teasingly.
"Hmm. What if I do? What can you do about it?" She asked with a confident smile plastered on her face.
"Keke ~ Your not my type though." I lied but not at the same time.
"Why? Am I not beautiful to you? I'm confident about my figure." She made sexy poses with her body, enticing me.
"I don't like blonde ~," I said to her face.
"Why? What color do you like then?" She said, her eyes were expecting.
"Anything but blonde."
"Oh, that's not a problem. Hehehe ~ Let's better stop flirting and get this thing tidied up fast. I'm hungry. I want to eat something that is not Dango right now." She said, going back to her usual expression which was the carefree smile she had on her face.
"Yes, yes. On it." I smiled in reply.
While I was tidying up I heard a sound that called me.

"Ning!" It was Syri. She was sitting on the ground looking apologetic.
"..." I decided to tease her by ignoring her and playing hard to get.
"Ning! Ning!" She called out again.
"..." This time I look at her but didn't say anything. I continue to do my task and still ignored her.
"Ning! Ning!" I knew she made a sad sound.
Later on, I feel something climb up to me. It was Syri.
She climbed onto my shoulders and once again called out to me:
"Ning! Ning!"
I ignored her once again.
She moves onto my chest, "Ning!" And reach her paws and wave them in my eyes.
"Ning…" Noticing that I was ignoring her she made a sad sound this time. Her ears were clipped.
Deciding that I had enough, I patted Syri's head.
"Ning!" She raised her head and made a satisfied sound.
She then climbed back onto my shoulders and licked my cheek.
"I'm sorry about smothering you earlier."
I stopped what I'm currently doing and took Syri from my shoulder, holding her with two hands bringing her in front of me.
I said, "But, you enjoy eating Dango huh? You are noticing me now because you don't have anything to eat anymore?" I spoke to Syri. I know she understands what I said.
"Ning! Ning!" She covered her two tiny paws in front of her face to cover her embarrassment.
'What? That's cute. Do normal foxes do that kind gesture?' I asked in disbelief but later realized:
'Oh, Syri wasn't normal.'
"Cute ~ " Kana voiced out complementing Syri. She too stopped what she was doing temporarily.
"Keke ~ Isn't she?" I put Syri inside of the opening of my chest since she likes that place too much. I can feel her curl up inside. She was directly above my diaphragm right now.
We then continued to clear things up in this stand.
…
Minutes later we were done tidying up.
I am carrying a sack filled with wooden utensils on my back.
We were walking on the road, with only the moonlight lighting our path. Several stars were painting the night skies.
To my side was Kana, walking along with me. Her face looks so mysteriously beautiful, illuminated by the moonlight.
I looked silently, appreciating her beauty.
"Hmm?" As if she noticed that I was staring at her, she moved her head to my side and now we faced each other eye to eye.
She smiled at me and said, "What do you want to eat?"
Had enough staring at her pretty face, I replied,
"... I'll order the same as yours."
I don't know what I was going to eat since I know nothing from this world except some food I know in modern life.
"Hmm. Okay. I got you." She smiled confidently at me.
