Chapter 6: Gas Station Dungeon Chapter 6

Why did he suddenly get pissed?

Jeong-sii wasn't mad, he was just reflecting on himself for getting so worked up.

Earlier when he saw that monster nearly kill Minato, something in him broke.

That feeling, what was it?

Was it stress? Maybe he didn't want to lose a very important asset?

Shit, whatever it was he didn't want to feel it ever again!

While Jeong-sii was facing a dilemma, our protagonist was dealing with his own.

"Let me do that for you...." 

An hour later.

"I got it, no need to work too hard." 

Another hour later.

"Sir Minato..."

I raised a hand to stop Kade in his tracks.

"What are you doing?" I asked him. And what happened to that weak and innocent act from earlier?

This guy, he's so lively now!

"Since you're my savior, I'm dedicated to being the best butler for Sir Minato," Kade says with large hopeful eyes.

Why did it turn out this way?

It had not been my intention for him to suddenly latch onto me like some newly hatched baby chick!

I covered my face in hopelessness, I'm now stuck with a burdensome thing.

"No need, Kade. I can very well take care of myself." I told him.

Kade shook his head, "no, I want to be of use to you!" He demands.

I groaned while completely giving in to his enthusiasm, how could I say no to that face?

A guy like Kade was not lacking in the looks department.

His long black hair brought out his grey eyes more, and his soft but handsome features also made it hard for me.

I'm starting to think I like a men's appearance more than a woman's unless I just like beautiful things.

Yeah, that's it, there's no way I'd be into a guy.

I fanned the air as if to get rid of such ridiculous thoughts.

Our journey brought us to a roadside gas station, it looked like it went through a series of events.

"You guys stay here, I'll go see if there's anything useful," Jeong-sii told us.

I was left with Rona since she had softened up to me in just a short time traveling together.

A moment later Jeong-sii came out dragging a monster corpse and tossing it before me.

It was the third time today that he has done this.

I used my staff to collect the monster corpse, I now have three undead goblins under me.

"Another dead end, just like the others," Jeong-sii says with a frustrated frown.

We traveled a few miles for this thing because it'll be of help for Jeong-sii's next plan.

I wonder if his memories are a bit distorted? There was indeed a hidden dungeon inside a gas station somewhere.

Should I help in a way that's not too obvious? I rubbed my chin while trying to think of ways to lead him to that hidden dungeon.

Though he'll find it on his own in the series, I think maybe I should let him have this one.

"Um...maybe I can be of some help, I am a person who can sense evil mana," Kade says stepping forward.

Ah, how dense of me to forget this! This person was blessed with the ability to feel dark mana to the highest amount of sensitivity!

It's so impressive that even a dog wouldn't be able to sniff out dark magic!

I suddenly feel proud of bringing him along. I clenched my fist in determination.

"You seem so proud, but it was him not you that was useful," Jeong-sii told me bluntly stabbing me in the chest with bluntness.

My idol, he's cool enough that I couldn't even get mad.

Kade was happy to help if it meant earning brownie points with his master.

Maybe I should have just told them where it was, looks like the finding of the dungeon will be a feat conquered by Kade.

I'll let it slide since I'm the one that brought him into the group, so in some way, I felt useful.

We were led further from our original destination to a few miles east of the last gas station.

The gas station we arrived at had a strong evil aura coming from inside, but the only ones able to feel it were me, Kade, and Jeong-sii.

"Looks like this is the one, who's staying, and who's going?" Jeong-sii asked.

"I should stay behind to keep an eye on little Rona, you three should go ahead." I volunteered.

I was left behind like that, but I already knew what was in store for those three.

That Byon will be quite thrilled to receive his newfound skill, aren't I nice?

After a few hours ticked by, Rona began to ask about her brother.

I'm guessing it is a lot longer than I was expecting.

A guy of Jeong-sii's level should be able to completely ruin this dungeon by now.

I noticed the door to the gas station being pushed open, seeing those faces makes things better.

"What took you guys so long?" I asked with a bright smile.

Byon-Hyung rubs the back of his neck, I can tell he received something good by his goofy ass grin on his face.

"I got a little too excited and almost collapsed the dungeon," Byon-Hyung admitted.

I turned my attention to Kade, "was it a good experience?" I asked him.

He crossed his arms while glaring at Byon0Hyung, "that doofus over there almost got me killed," He complains.

I chuckled, it seems that even in this timeline the two were bumping heads.

Only this time Kade is on our side and I happen to be here.
