Chapter 5: Safe Zone Event Chapter 5

Right now, Byon-Hyung and I were faced with an awkward situation.

Meeting the little sister of the male lead, who as of this moment, was peeking around her big brother, wasn't exactly going too well.

Not only was she shy, but she also seemed to have gone through something horrible.

Even in the series, they weren't too detailed about what she had gone through, just that it was a horrible and gruesome experience.

I have a few theories, but most of them are too gruesome to make light. 

I crouched down to her height, "hi, little princess," I pointed to my chest while smiling, "I'm Minato, what's  your name?" I asked now pointing to her.

She dug her face more into Jeong-sii's side while still peeking around at me.

I don't know why but seeing such an action made my heart throb a bit.

She's small, with chubby cheeks, and her brother's good-looking genes, I just want to hug her!

Jeong-sii reaches down and pats his sister on her head, "this little girl's name is Rona, she's my little sister." Jeong-sii introduces.

Rona kept herself safely tucked into her brother,  because of this I couldn't properly get to know her.

"What does this mean?" Someone says nearby.

I turned to see all the fuss and noticed that a new quest panel had appeared.

Escape the gym or die miserably.

Event Timer: 12 minutes until a dimensional crack appears.

 

Rona looks up at her brother, "Oppa, I'm scared," her voice trembled slightly and her pretty blue eyes filled with tears.

How? How could I not think such a kid was cute!? I want to hold her and tell her everything was alright!

"We should head to the entrance before the crowd gets rowdy," Jeong-sii warns us.

He lifts his sister and led us to the entrance, but something nearby drew my attention.

I paused when I noticed a guy sitting near the back, he was curled into a ball on the floor.

Jeong-sii notices, "what are you doing, come on!" He yells.

I looked back at him but I just couldn't, it was because I knew that face.

The timer was already about to hit zero and once it did the air began tearing.

It wasn't hard to see the eye that peered back at me through the crack.

I looked over at the guy who sat there completely unaware and dashed past the rip to the guy against the wall.

"Hey!" I called out to him, "what are you still doing, come on!" I grabbed his arm and forcefully dragged him along with me.

I'm determined to save this guy's life with every being in my soul.

I won't let the side story about him come true, it would be less of a headache for my idol.

The monster came forth once I got a bit past the half-opened crack.

I shielded my eyes from the strong pressure it let loose once coming out.

I pushed the guy I saved behind me, while also facing the monster before us.

I equipped my staff, which was useless right now, especially since there were no bodies for me to collect. The monster bent as though ready to pounce.

Just as it was about to attack me Jeong-sii came out of nowhere with his sword and sliced the monster in half.

I think I see a black cloud coming off him, or is it that just me?

"Minato," he spoke coldly causing me to flinch. He looked back but his gaze fell upon the guy next to me.

He didn't say anything else, I think he's mad at me. But I'm surprised since a guy like Jeong-sii didn't go around rescuing people so easily.

Not saying that he wouldn't help others, just that it would only be something he'd do if it benefitted him. 

I guess I benefit him enough for him to rescue me.

Which is why I was certain this guy would benefit him without a doubt. He walks past me, his expression made it hard to read the room.

A new panel appeared declaring the quest cleared. 

I had to admit it went better than I thought, in the series, a lot of people died, but I'm guessing my involvement changed the future a bit.

I also know that saving this guy will cause a large butterfly effect, I hope it's not so bad that it would cause too much damage.

Once we left out the gym and split from the others, Jeong-sii turned to face me.

His dark expression made me shudder, "explain yourself." He demands.

I avoided his gaze, but he gripped my chin causing me to look directly into his eyes.

Too close!!

"Minato, I'm on my last straw. If I hadn't stepped in when I did you would have died. All because of some strange bastard that you didn't know." He says glaring in that guy's direction.

I couldn't move, the grip he had on my chin was hurting, but I withstood it, "I just thought he looked familiar." I told him.

Jeong-sii looks back at me, "..."

He lets go of my face, "fine, if you do this again I'll make sure you'll regret it." He warns taking his sister's hand and walking away.

The guy I saved slunk up to me with a sorrowful expression, "why did you save me?" He asked.

The reason I saved him was because of the character he turned out to be in the series. 

A famous villain whose known for his poison, the Dark Magician, Kade, it was that reason alone that I rescued him.

In the future, he will create a guild solely bent on getting rid of the hunter association that is later made.

He also becomes enemies with Jeong-sii and almost killed everyone in Jeong-sii's guild.

He won't be someone Jeong-sii knows since it would be the first time Jeong-sii decides to make a guild.

"Don't know, I just couldn't watch someone die like that," I told him, it wasn't completely the truth.

Byon-Hyung came up to me, "he seems pissed this time." He told me.

I watched Jeong-sii's back, "yeah." I agreed.
