Chapter: 2
*Knock! Knock! Knock!*
“Are you in the room onii-Chan!? I’m gonna come in!”
The door to Raizel's bedroom opens revealing a cute short-stature girl with a teddy bear in her arms. She has blond hair tied into a ponytail that is shaped like a drill. Even though she lacks height; the purple dress she wears shows that she didn't lack bust size for whatever reason.
This girl is Ravel Phoenix, the youngest child in the Phoenix family and also one of the many heroines in “High School DxD”.
[A/N: there are going to be many heroines. The main heroine and the secondary heroine.]
Ravel Phoenix is Raizel's younger sister and is considered one of the main heroines. Even though she is a heroine, Raizel didn't really hate nor love her mainly because she didn't humiliate him, but didn't do anything to help him either in the pest. She just pretends not to see anything that happens to him like he's a stranger.
However, Raizel still didn't know what to do with her. Even though he's going crazy, he's still sane enough to distinguish between entertainer and observer.
“What do you want?”
The coolness in Raizel's voice when he ask Ravel the question brought chills down her spine. This was the first time Ravel ever had Raizel being indifferent toward her, so it wasn’t something she knew how to respond with.
“Pa…Papa said it's time to go,” Ravel responded back to Raizel's question, almost stuttering. Even though the atmosphere between her and Raizel was awkward, she made sure not to stutter.
“You talk as if you'll be going too.”
Raizel was completely surprised by this situation. In all the other rounds he goes through, not once had Ravel ever taken the liberty of talking to him. As a matter of fact, this situation where Ravel takes the incentive to come and reminds him never happens.
He never knew whether she hated him or not.
Whenever he felt desolate and needed company, he would try to start a conversation with her. But he would either get an indifferent response or no responses at all. Although this situation was out of context and surprises him, he still maintains his stoic expression like an unmoving statue.
“Because I will be going too.”
Ravel looked down as if she was having a second thoughts. Her feeling wasn’t about her wanting to go, but it was because she didn’t want her elder brother to go to this meeting.
She remembers that this event was the cause of Raizel's miserable future. The reason why she knows what will happen is because she is a reborn person. That's why she knows this event is a political marriage contract between her brother and Rachel Gremory.
In the past, her brother saved her multiple times, but coincidentally Issei Hyoudou always happened to be nearby and ended up taking the final blow along with all the credits. She on the other hand only realized how much of an bitch she was 10 years after her brother died.
Ravel Phoenix wasn’t a stoic cold person to anyone other than to Raizel. It was probably because of her pride that made her dislike Raizel. Because he was a failure, she felt she should not associate herself with him. That is the reason why she never spoke up for him.
However, this feeling cracks when she sees his lifeless eyes before being killed by Rachel. This was the first time she felt this guilty, and as the years progress; the guilt deep within her heart only became stronger. Until finally she couldn’t stand it anymore and killed herself.
So realizing she is reborn back to the past, she wants to stand by him rather than Issei this time.
Truth be told, she doesn't really hate Issei Hyoudou who is her husband from her past life. She no doubt loves him not just because he was a kind person but also because he was the father of her daughter. But that feeling of romantic affection died down and the romantic feelings for her dead older brother went up to the extreme.
“Onii-Chan, you don’t have to go with papa to sign this marriage contract. Instead; I’ll go with him and pursue not to sign it. I’m also willing to beg papa on my knees to make sure he doesn’t kick you out of the family.”
Ravel was a little desperate and tried to Pursue Raizel not to go. This event will be the first time Raizel and Rachel meet and turn him into a licking dog. So she wants to make sure they don’t meet so she can have him for herself.
Besides, it is not like Rachel wants him anyway.
But unknown to her, her words completely blow away Raizel. Many thoughts run through his mind on why the setting changed suddenly. He instantly comes up with a couple hypotheses to make sense of this situation. But ultimately only two satisfy.
His first theory is that because he is no longer playing the plot and not having a system anymore, there is no reason for a plot to exist. That means there is a likely chance that the protagonist Issei Hyoudou no longer has plot armor. This is both good and bad for him because he could kill the protagonist without plot convenience getting in his way, and bad because he could no longer predict the future events. Without the plot, infinite possibilities could also exist now, so that means a being more powerful than him that didn’t exist in “DXD” verse before could show up out of nowhere.
His second theory is the plot still exists but the higher beings that make him play the plot decide to twist the story so he couldn’t predict the plot. Is not that this unpredictable future bothers him, but is still better to be cautious in case gods boost the protagonist's power to prevent him from achieving his goal.
Raizel could only sigh in his heart from fate always fucking him over.
Originally, he didn't want to go sign the marriage contract and disowned himself from the Phoenix family. But seeing as things are now, he might as well play along until he understands more about what changes in the plot.
“No, I’ll sign the contract.”
“But!”

“No but! Also…Don’t call me onii-Chan. My name's Raizel, but the most I could allow you to call me is elder brother. You are not some Japanese person so you have no reason to follow their customs.”
“Okay then, I’ll call you el-”
Ravel was speaking but Raizel didn’t want to be in her presence anymore so he just walked out of the room before she could finish talking.
Ravel was left speechless because of the older Phoenix's attitude. She thought he would be happy if she could comfort him. But she didn’t get to do that because of Raizel's strange behavior. He seemed to be indifferent to her presence unlike in the past when he usually tries to start a conversation with her.
Ravel thought she could change everything now that she is reborn, but things might be more difficult than expected.
…
In the hallway, Raizel is going through the same thoughts. Not even an hour passed since rebirth, and the plot is already changing.
Truth be told, Is not the plot going off direction that is the problem. But he knew that the higher-ups are doing this to him for rebelling against them. So the real problem is the higher-ups because they might send someone stronger than him to beat him down.
All Raizel could do right now is follow the plot while plotting in the shadows. The higher-ups are not all-seeing; but even if they are all-seeing, they can’t do anything to him as long as he completes his plots. The law stated that as long as he finishes completing his mission he can do whatever he wants in free time.
Raizel doesn’t know why this law exists for those higher-ups, but this brought a big wicked smile to his face.
“Finally you got here!”
The words of an elderly man snapped Raizel out of his thoughts. While thinking in deep thought, he didn’t realize he walked out of the Phoenix family's main mansion.
In front of Raizel stood a handsome man who seemed to be in his early forties. He has blond hair and blue eyes just like Raizel. He wears expensive clothes just like Raizel. The only thing different is he has a mustache and Raizel does not.
This man is Richard Phoenix; commonly referred to as “Lord Phoenix” and the father of Raizel, Ravel, and the rest of the other phoenix children.
Even though he is called Lord Phoenix, he's no longer the head of the Phoenix clan. The current head of phoenix is Ruval Phoenix, the oldest son of Richard. Ruvall may lead the families, but Richard's name is respected.
“Where is Ravel?”
Raizel was about to answer the Elder Phoenix, but before he could; a Phoenix crest magic circle appeared beside him and burst out into flame revealing Ravel in view.
“I'm here father”
“Alright then, let's get going.”
Hearing Lord Phoenix's words, the butler opened the black shiny limousine door for the three phoenix to enter. Although the underworld houses still somewhat resemble medieval times, the high class devil don’t actually use horse and carriage to travel anymore. They would use cars like limousines they bought from the human world to go places to places.
One may think why a devil needs cars to travel, but why not use magic to just teleport there? It would save more time and get things done faster. As convenient as magic may be, it would be considered improper for a high class devil to just pop up in another high class devil territory even if you are invited.
Otherwise, you are a trespasser.
…
*Knock! Knock!*
“May I enter lady Rachel!?”
A beautiful silver-haired woman in a maid outfit knocks on an oversized door with little to no expression on her beautiful face.
Even though this woman is a maid, she has a beauty resembles that of a goddess. The only irony here is that she is a devil.
This woman is Grayfia Lucifuge; the head maids of the “Gremory” and one of the many heroines. She is one of the most powerful devils in the underworld.
“Come in!”
