Seeing Aito acting all strange Momo was very skeptical. She was full on guard against any surprise attack Aito could’ve made. In her mind, she was imagining Aito kicking Momo, who was sprawled on the floor having lost all her energy to fight, while saying something like “A hero should never let her guard down” With a wicked smile. She was even ready to fire the cannon at his back if he showed any sudden movements.
But seeing his retreating figure, who lacked the usual prideful and elegant aura. She couldn’t help but think.
‘Was I wrong?’
She couldn’t help but think there was more to it than what meets the eye. Looking at Aito whose steps contained a lot more weight than his usual self, she decided to talk with her mom.
…
Momo was laying on the couch in her living room, she was just blankly staring at the ceiling, besides her there was one more person in the living room. And that was her personal maid, Yuki. But contrary to what a maid should be doing, she was sitting on another couch, hugging a pillow while watching some horror movie.
Long white hair, light blue eyes, around 165 cm tall. Her adorable face and clueless expression will make you think whether she is a maid or not. But what made her the personal maid of Momo Yaoyorozu was not her management skills or something like that, but her exceptional cooking skills and her the fact that she was very close with Momo from a very young age. There was even a rumor going around saying that, Yuki was bribed out of a famous restaurant in Tokyo by the Yaoyorozu couple, who was mesmerized by her cooking skills.
Momo looked at her maid who was covering her face with a pillow because of a horror scene that would even fail to scare an elementary school kid, and asked,
“Don’t you have to prepare lunch?”
Yuki looked up from the pillow and said,
“Your mom said she would do the cooking for the day!”
“…Oh.”
Momo didn’t say anything and took out her phone and started ordering some food online, Yuki who was seeing this asked in a surprised tone,
“Are you ordering food from elsewhere?!”
Momo answered without looking back,
“Yes?”
“How can you be this disrespectful towards your own mother?!” -Yuki asked in an exasperated tone.
“…Oh, then I’ll cancel your share.”
“Please don’t!” -Momo looked at Yuki’s pleading figure, she was cute to say the least, playing someone ten years older than you on your palm always felt good.
…
Momo was thinking about the talk she had with her mother, regarding Aito. Honestly, she just wanted to talk about how Aito was acting strange the other day, but during the conversation, her mom told her something, which made her feel sorry for Aito.
As someone who was thriving to become a hero, how can she not notice the abnormality in Aito? From what she knew from childhood, he was someone extremely proud of himself and showed superiority towards his peers, she knew as she was someone subjected to this side of Aito. That same Aito was acting all benevolent and a role model; for the entire class while, showing his true self toward her.
Momo thought Aito just hated her or something, but the reality Momo’s mind drew after realizing some facts was far from that.
Aito was kidnapped when he was four and right after, he was subjected to his quirk, making him unable to attend school thereby having no friends. After hearing from her mother that his problem was far from simple, making him stay at home for his own safety, Momo realized what he said about not having any friends was true.
Then Momo concluded that Aito was just treating her as his friend in his own way. Although his methods were rough, Momo couldn’t deny the fact that he was extremely helpful when It comes to improving her martial arts. Although she would be extremely exhausted after the spar, she never had any injury while sparring with him and the exhaustion was something that got washed away after one minute of rest, which was abnormal, which she subjected to Aito’s quirk. Even while she treated him like some sort of eternal enemy, he was considerate of her, and that made her feel even more guilty.
If only she took the initiative to talk to him she would’ve understood he was not just bullying her out of fun or something. She failed as a class president and a friend, and as a future hero, which made her feel even more miserable, she wanted to call Aito and apologize right now. But she knew that was rude and decided to wait till she saw him in person. Since the summer break only started, she had to wait.
“Sigh”
Momo let out a sigh while biting on a chicken leg piece.
“You’ve been sighing a lot these days.”- Yuki, who was sitting next to her said while biting on her chicken piece.
Momo looked at Yuki who was eating the chicken like a little kid, the sauce was all over her face while chicken crumbs were all over her uniform.
“Really!! how are you an adult?”-Momo asked exasperated
“What?!” -Yuki asked back in a clueless manner.
“Nothing!!, you should clean up the table before long, and don’t forget to wash your face, I don’t want to hear mom nagging about me eating unhygienic food.” Momo said while wiping her hands with a tissue.
*DING*
At that moment the doorbell rang.
Momo looked at the door and then at her maid, who was supposed to open the door, as a servant should. But seeing her scrambling to wipe the sauce off her face, Momo lightly sighed and stood up going to open the door.
She saw one of the other maids in the mansion hurrying over but she gestured to them that she will take care of it.
But what she didn’t expect to see was the smiling face of the youth, the cause of her mind being in a complicated state.
But the absence of his annoying grin which he always had while greeting her made her flustered. Instead, what was present on his face was his ever-present business-like smile which he usually showed to anyone other than her. Once again cementing the fact that what he showed her was his genuine expressions, while he was fooling the others with his benevolent side. But knowing at least a portion of what he went through, she couldn’t hate his actions. Instead, it added to the guilt in her mindset, thinking that she might’ve pushed away someone who saw her as a genuine friend, rather than those elite brats trying to form connections with her.
But what she didn’t see was the mature beauty standing a step ahead of Aito, Okabe Toda.
…
..
.
Aito was leaning on the railings of the balcony of the second floor of the Yaoyorozu mansion. Which was really spacious while decorated with various plants, and containing the beauty of nature.
While Aito was simply staring ahead without thinking much. The sweet but somewhat meek voice of Momo interrupted him from behind.
“Would you like to have some tea?”

Aito looked back, seeing Momo standing near the small table where various sweets were placed, and the teapot which was emitting steam through its spout.
“Sure, why not!”
Aito was in full-on gentleman mode today. Partly because he was a guest in the Yaoyorozu mansion today, as well as because Aito formally apologized to Momo and became a gentleman in her eyes. If it was the Aito from before he would’ve no doubt said no while smiling kindly.
Judging from the uncomfortable Momo, it can be judged that she also knew that.
Aito was not a Tea person, but he drank it anyway.
He was looking forward to seeing how Momo would act. If she were to act apologetically toward him, he would simply act uncomfortable and say, “I don’t want your pity.” And walk out of the mansion in an even more formal manner which will stir the guilty consciousness of Momo even more.
As Aito was thinking of such evil thoughts in his mind, Momo was the first to break the silence.
“Sorry about the lunch, my mom is really bad at cooking.” -Momo had a genuinely apologetic look in her eyes.
Thinking about the lunch he had to sallow, Aito couldn’t help but scrunch his eyebrows. Bad at cooking is just an understatement. Even while, swallowing the food with his taste receptors disconnected with the help of Ciel, he could still feel the lingering foul taste of the lunch he had.
“Don’t mind that! It is my fault for not understanding the obvious signs you and my mom were sending my way.”
Momo’s mom was the one who invited them here. Although Aito expected Okabe to realize his clash with Momo, he didn’t expect Momo’s mom to directly invite them over and do a sneak attack through the food, nonetheless.
Okabe who was hoping his son to form a meaningful friendship with someone threw all her work towards her secretary and charged forward with Aito. Okabe, who was more experienced with Momo’s mom dodged the attack saying that she already ate, and threw obvious signs at Aito. Aito who was in his gentlemanly form ridiculed his mother for being rude and took the attack head-on, sustaining severe injuries. Although this encounter helped him make some brownie points with Momo’s mom, the damage he suffered was huge.
…
After that the uncomfortable silence continued, Aito didn’t take the initiative to start a conversation and thrashed all the conversations Momo started in the beginning phase, expressing his displeasure in being here.
[Aren’t you being a little too rude for acting all gentlemanly?]
Aito snorted at Ciel in his mind and said,
‘I’m simply pushing her to apologize to me so that I can “I don’t want your pity” Her. Although I’m being petty here, not accepting her apology, reason stands with me.’
‘And I’m not being rude. I’m turning down all the conversations she is starting extremely politely in a way that, I don’t sound rude. The skills I’ve accumulated debating with politicians are really coming in handy.’
[Really? You’re being proud of being able to win against a kid in conversation skills?!]
‘Ahem.’ Aito let out a dry cough and ignored Ciel. Really? When will she ever come to understand his greatness?
Although Aito was acting indifferent towards the sweets spread in front of him, inwardly he was itching to try out the pastries. Although he only tasted it once, he couldn’t help but recall the heavenly taste of those.
As Aito was contemplating how to snatch some of these cookies and pastries without breaking the serious atmosphere, he noticed Momo’s expression turning into a serious one.
‘Aha, she is about to apologize. You should ready the wager Ciel, she is about to apologize and I’m about to act all petty.’
[Why are you proud of being able to act petty? And I don’t remember wagering anything!]
But what came out of Momo’s moth was something both Ciel and Aito didn’t expect.
“You said you would accept any request as long as it is reasonable right?” -Momo’s face was serious, realizing Aito won’t make it any comfortable for her, she asked in a straightforward manner without sugar-coating anything.
Although Aito was a little taken aback by the topic, he quickly regained his composure and said,
“Yes?”
Momo said without skipping a beat,
“Then I want you to train me in martial arts.”
“…” -Aito was speechless while Ciel started laughing in his head while.
[HAHAHAHAHAH, Wh-What was your wager again?!!!]
‘Shatap!!’
