It was a nice day at the office. There weren’t any important things that I had to attend to. All in all, it was a pleasant day.

But for some reason, I couldn’t stop thinking about my son. My lovely kid who always tried to make himself prim and proper. But to my eyes, that was nothing but cute. He always loved to hear compliments from me about his looks.

I couldn’t stop myself from thinking about him all afternoon.

So, I contacted Kimi according to his schedule he must be at the park near our house. Kimi said everything was all right and sent me a picture of him. He was sitting on a park bench, with a straight posture, elegantly holding his tablet. The whole picture exuded cuteness.

Seeing the photo, I couldn’t help but let out a sigh and continue my work.

But I couldn’t focus on my work too much because my phone rang and m son’s driver called me.

His voice was stuttering but he managed to bring the news across,

“M-ma’am y-young master A-aito was kidnapped.”

“What?”- I asked in a clear voice. I felt like my whole body froze.

“T-t-that y-yo-young master Aito was kidnapped.”

I didn’t hallucinate, he said my son was kidnapped, MY SON WAS KIDNAPPED!!!

“Tell me everything that happened.”- I spoke in a really cold voice. I could even feel my secretary shivering.

He gave me a quick run-down of the situation.

I quickly exited the building while contacting Taiga who was also rushing towards the incident site.

We met up in the clinic near the park. Where Kimi was resting. We didn’t talk any nonsense. And just went towards where we thought appropriate. Taiga went to talk with the authorities while I went to talk with Kimi.

By the time I got there, Kimi was starting to wake up. The nurse on duty gave me a quick rundown of Kimi’s situation. She was fine since she had a very high regenerative factor.

I sat near her bed watching Kimi get up. I saw her eyes opening, looking at me I saw her eyes quaking. 

She had one Job, freaking one JOB, and she couldn’t even do that properly.

I wanted to scream at her but I held it in, I knew it would’ve been hard for her as well, so I held it in.

Time was very precious after all. I didn’t want to waste my time berating her.

“You worked hard.”

In the end, I let out these words and walked out of the room.

I could see my husband talking to the authorities,

“…they didn’t leave any traces all the traffic cameras were hacked and they left decoy cars along the way.”

“So, we couldn’t stop the kidnappers.”

“I understand.”

“Please inform us if the kidnappers contact you, they probably want a ransom.”

“Yes, I will contact you as soon as I get any information.”

I couldn’t see the usual calm smile on his face, instead, his face was marred with a cold look.

He was trying to minimize the influence of heroes and police in this case as low as possible. He wanted to take things into his own hands.

If the police and heroes got involved, there is a possibility that the kidnappers might just kill Aito to get rid of the baggage and escape.

Taiga walked towards me. I could see his pupils flickering blue and red. From my back, I could hear Kimi talking with the driver about the things she missed.

He looked straight into my eyes and spoke.

“The kidnappers contacted me. Money is not their priority. They want to get rid of me.”

I more or less understood the situation.

“…”

“They want me to go to the Irago abandoned port with the money alone. There, they will let me see him.”

“…are you going to use your old tactics.”

“Yes.”

I leaned towards him and gave him a peck on his cheeks. I could see the veins bulging on his neck and face.

“… be careful Aito might get traumatized. I trust you.”

Taiga Toda was a kind and gentle man, a loving husband, and a doting father. He maintained many charity organizations and orphanages. At least that’s what the public knew about him.

He had a weird quirk, by the time he turned four his entire metabolism changed. He couldn’t gain any energy from any amount of food intake. After consulting their family doctor. They made a discovery. Taiga needed blood from a living organism to survive. His family had a lot of hospitals so that wasn’t a problem. But the problem was in middle school he accidentally revealed his secret to his friends and they spread it throughout the whole school. And his friends started looking at him as if looking at some kind of monster.

So, he moved overseas with his mother’s parents.

Although his quirk brought about the disadvantage of having to drink blood it gave him a few bonuses. He could infinitely regenerate as long as his blood intake remained. And he could heal other people’s injuries. As well as superhuman strength.

He never had any interest in fighting so he grew up to be a doctor, utilizing his healing skills. But he practiced some self-defence as well. He was very popular in college as well as in high-class society.

He never got closer to any girls though.

Like that, in one of the high societies functions he met a peculiar girl.

He didn’t know why but he was attracted to her. So, he asked her out.

The girl seemed to find something interesting about him so she went on a date with her. Eventually, he got to figure out what was outstanding about the girl. She had a quirk related to blood.

When she found out about his quirk, she didn’t frown instead she was surprised. They quickly hit it off and got married. Their romance story was filled with all sorts of adventure and fun.

She gave birth to his child. There were a lot of complications during his birth but it went well and they named the kid Aito, meaning ocean because of his deep oceanic blue eyes.

Everyone knew Taiga as a kind person but he had a dark side to him. Due to the effect of his quirk, he had a certain amount of bloodlust. He only ever drank enough blood for him to survive nothing more.

But today the time when he found out that his kid got kidnapped his bloodlust got activated his pupils turned red. He took only one person with him to the exchange site, his assistant and his bodyguard, Alex, a foreigner his family nurtured.

Taiga and Alex came to the location the kidnappers sent. When they arrived there, they could see a car parked in the centre of the open field with its headlights on.

The car door opened and a lean blonde-haired man stepped out of the car. Followed by one bald muscular man, a white-haired kid with duct tape on his mouth and his hands tied with duct tape, and a muscular scar face with a gun pointed at the kid’s temple.

Seeing his son in that state Taiga could feel his blood rushing to his head. Veins can be seen popping up on his head one after another.

When he was contemplating what to do, the blonde man took out a gun and pointed it at the kid’s temple, stepping forward he said,

“Sir Toda will step forward with the cash and I will come with the kid.”

“If you try anything funny, I will blow a hole in your kid’s damn head.”

Taiga took a deep breath a nodded.

He was not in a position to bargain so, he didn’t say anything and started walking forward after giving Alex a knowing look.

Even though it was midnight he could still see his son’s face with the help of moonlight and his enhanced vision. He could see the panicked look on his face, but he pretended he didn’t see anything and walked forward.

*Step*

In, the peaceful night heavy footsteps can be heard. When Taiga was only a few footsteps away from the blond guy, suddenly both the burly man behind them collapsed to the ground. When the blonde man realized something was amiss and was about to say “fire” the kid suddenly jumped avoiding the gun and precisely stuck a severed finger into his eyeball.

*splishh*

“ahhhhh”- the man screamed and fell backward, rolling on the ground.

 But without needing any attention to the blonde man, the kid suddenly started running towards the stunned Taiga, screaming something through the duct tape in a panicked voice.

But it was too late,

*bang*

A sniper bullet went through Taiga’s head. He fell to the side. His head snapping in that direction with a sickening pop sound.

The kid stopped dead in his way his eyes filled with horror.
