She is way too fast for me to keep up with her. I managed to block her first attack but it was so powerful that it sent me back flying into the ocean. I swam back to the shore and fell on the ground.

“I give up!” I shouted while panting.

“Too quick! You’re no fun.” She started whining which you wouldn’t usually expect from someone of such a status.

I stood up again and held the sword tightly. I have watched many anime so I guess I’m apt to fight. I thought of a few anime where they had sword fights.

There was this one consistent thing with these fights, that was, they strengthened their bodies using something. I took a deep breath and enhanced my legs to their maximum potential without rupturing the muscles and charged at her with everything I had. I don’t think I’d be able to perform such an attack continuously.

“Too fast!” Leanna was caught by surprise but still managed to stop me.

I fell on the ground and sighed. I thought this was my strongest melee attack but she stopped without even enhancing her body.

I picked up the sword again and brandished it to her.

“I will land at least one hit on you.”

“We will see.” She was amused by my declaration.

So I knew enhancing my body was not going to cut it because she was better at it than me.

Maybe something like earth magic with body enhancement. I can work it like a pinball machine and use boulders to redirect myself.

I charged at her again with the same melee attack and thought of redirecting myself but I missed the boulder and flew right into the ocean.

At least it wasn’t a tree or else I would’ve needed plastic surgery.

“What exactly were you planning on doing there?” She asked, genuinely confused. I think she was a little disappointed in me too.

“I thought I would use boulders to redirect my attack and make it more unpredictable but I missed the boulder altogether.” I walked out of the ocean completely drenched.

“You are only good with coming up with good ideas but when it comes to actually doing them, you fail miserably. I would definitely use this idea.”

“I don’t think I signed up for being humiliated by you.”

“Then don’t do things that would allow me to make fun of you.”

I picked up the sword and charged at her again and kept trying to use my idea of using boulders. I was getting better rather quickly.

I charged for one last time and she dodged. I created a boulder and landed on it and used wind magic to give me an additional speed boost.

She did block it but couldn’t do it as effectively.

“Hey, someone is getting really good at it. I’m impressed by your creativity when it comes to using magic.”

She doesn’t know I have consumed too much magic and isekai anime.

“But you still didn’t land a hit on me.” She said proudly.

“One day!” I rolled my eyes and pouted. I did my best though.

I noticed bandits. Leanna did too. She only had the wooden sword but that didn’t stop her from attacking the bandits. She moved even faster than before. If she had used her current speed against me, I probably would’ve died from the impact alone. She was not able to cut through them but was straight up breaking their bones. The match seemed too one sided honestly. It seemed more like Leanna torturing them.

“Leanna, end this quickly.” I ordered.

Despite us being friends now, the hierarchy remained where I was the leader.

Leanna used flame magic which seemed like her elemental to burn them alive but one of the guys had water magic which negated her fire magic. If she had her normal metal sword, she would’ve dealt with them by now. Leanna covered herself in blue aura which means she is finally using body enhancement magic. Just how strong is she?! She was in her base managing a group of 20 bandits. SHE DISAPPEARED?! No, she was moving so fast that she just vanished from my vision. Then I heard multiple loud noises within a second. All 20 men fell on the ground unconscious.

Leanna dusted her hands and smiled proudly of her accomplishment of killing 20 men.

I’m never landing a hit on her if she ever uses her real strength.

How many people has my team killed by now? I think the number comes around 50-60 men? In less than a week at that.

“Leanna, get rid of their bodies and then we will go to sleep too.”

Leanna did as she was told and we rested the entire night.

The next 4 days went eventless. Historia and Sasaki were still recovering from the incident so we didn’t talk much, if at all. They weren’t eating properly either but Leanna and I made sure they got enough nutrients to function properly at least. Making such a diet plan was near impossible given our limited options but it did work out. They had lost noticeable weight and it just feels horrible seeing them in such condition but I’m useless as I am. I don’t have enough knowledge on counseling psychology to give them adequate therapies.

We were almost there. Leanna felt like she had to move faster to the empire of Deem since she felt like they would have more safety there to spend time recovering from the trauma. She had forced her body so much that after these 4 days, anyone could see the side effects of her body enhancement magic. Her body was full of bruises and she also had lost a considerable amount of weight though because she wasn’t depressed, she did eat more than enough but her body just couldn’t replenish her easily and quickly.

Me on the other hand spent all 4 days just reading through books that I had. I was learning more science to make use of magic easier. I had learned that people are born with a specific magic pool, like stamina, and they can only make it more efficient but they can’t increase it. We can get my magic pool checked at an adventurer’s guild. I learned a bit more about how electricity works and a few fire related reactions too. I had to revise the periodic table as well.

I had also been thinking about Shiroyu’s outfit. I had asked Leanna about the suit and she was completely blank. If even a royal knight doesn’t know about it then does it mean even she is from my own world? I wonder if all 5 orders are from my world. That’d make things much easier.

We were now at the entrance of the Empire of Deem. Historia quickly got up as if nothing had happened.

“I… don’t feel… better but let’s make it quick. I want to sleep somewhere comfortable.” She sounded so desperate. She must be really tired but because she was a noble, she knew how to do things that needed to be done. She put a ring on my left hand’s ring finger and then on hers.

Leanna dragged the carriage into the check room. The guards knew Historia and Leanna, so all of us were asked to come into a different room for interrogation.

Historia explained to them the details of demon occupation and the condition of the kingdom of Scofinia. She told them about the situation under which we got married. Whatever she said was exactly how I had met her but she added the fact that we fell in love the day we met and decided to marry since times were uncertain. It was a melodrama and I would’ve cried had I not known she was lying.

I noticed the different architecture of the location. The gate was made out of metal and rocks, it was obvious that the empire was much more technologically advanced than Scofinia.

We were allowed in after the check and were asked to go to the palace instead.

Historia is so cool for that. I remember back when I was diagnosed with depression. Was it 4 years ago? The reason being I couldn’t keep up with my parents. Back then some tragedy had struck and my parents were busy dealing with it since people’s lives were in danger and being all alone I fell into depression. I remember that I couldn’t even leave my bed and even taking care of myself was near impossible. I had lost a lot of weight too. Seeing Historia being able to do things that were necessary despite her mental state was really inspiring. I can totally see why Leanna fell for her. Historia was strong mentally. Maybe even more than me. Leanna is a better fighter than me, Sasaki is a better magic user than me and Historia is mentally stronger than me. I was really the worst and the most unskilled out of them all.

The Empire of Deem showed the stark contrast between the demon occupied land and land free of demons.
