Chapter 17: Beginning of Coup D’état (Ch-17)

“Ok now try your SSS rank magic.”

 

I nodded and raised my hand up and ignited a fire so hot that the flames turned purple. I kept increasing the size of the fireball but for some reason I didn’t feel the heat but prof. Frieda started running away in fear. Her purple hair had caught fire by just being in the vicinity of my fireball and now she was extinguishing it using water.

 

I locked my target and launched the fireball which ended up burning the opposite side of the stadium. If there were humans here, I would’ve killed almost everyone. Just being near this fire would’ve given you at least 2nd degree burns. I then again raised my hand and created a cloud against the ceiling. Because there was no water source, I couldn’t do much since I had to use 3 more elementals. I extinguished the fire and then raised my hand into the air and created a much darker and heavier cloud and launched the water droplets at the other side of the stadium and broke almost everything. These droplets were in the shape of needles so they were definitely fatal.

 

Next was ground based magic. I placed my hands on the ground and caused an earthquake. I think an earthquake is the best ground based attack that can destroy entire armies. I wonder why more people didn’t think of it.

 

“You can stop!” Prof. Frieda hit me in the head with the notepad.

 

“Everyone in The Grand Order almost kills me every time I train them.” She was quite angry but well she did ask me to use SSS rank magic.

 

“You’re already better than The Grand Order was back in the day so I think you will catch up with them sooner or later.” She patted my back with a soft smile on her face. “What you need to do is learn from an actual battle. For now, think about different creative attacks and body enhancement magic. I think your magic is currently the strongest in this school but too slow. If someone engages in a hand to hand battle with you, you’d lose. Body enhancement would not only make you faster but it’d make you studier too so you could at least take a couple physical attacks.”

 

That was nice to hear. Actually, I had been caught off guard and stabbed a couple times so body enhancement might become an important part of my arsenal.

 

I gave her a detailed description of the attack I was trying to use against Leanna back in Scofinia during our training.

 

“How about using combustion instead of wind? Wouldn’t that be faster?” She suggested.

That’s definitely a teacher for you. The difference was that launching myself using combustion was significantly faster than wind. Because to use wind magic as a launch pad, I had to create a compressed tornado which would launch me but would also put me in rotatory motion.

 

It’s a nice idea.

 

I took a deep breath and focused on the dummy in front of me. I braced myself and jumped in the air and used combustion on my shoes to launch me towards the dummy.

You could think of it as an open gun. I was using a somewhat similar mechanic but instead of a closed system it was an open system which drastically reduced its efficiency.

 

We kept trying to increase my accuracy and according to my phone, we had spent well over two hours just trying to have me land on the dummy perfectly.

 

“Landing on a dummy is hard for you, I wonder what would happen against a moving target.” Prof. Frieda was not exactly disappointed. It sounded more like worry to me.

Maybe because my victory meant the safety of this world. She could not exactly ignore me.

“We can try tomorrow!” I suggested but she shook her head no.

 

“You have used too much magic. You might not feel the toll right now, but we will only do training twice a week for now. Of course we will increase the number of training sessions per week as time goes on.”

 

I nodded and bowed to her before leaving the lab.

 

Now I need to make friends in this school. I thought that those two other magicless people in the class would be helpful. The discrimination was not exactly my cup of tea. If I could use them properly then maybe I could make magicless people appear less useless.

Enough with playing nice.

 

While I was walking down the corridor, I saw 3 guys bullying one of the magicless. She was the girl from my class.

 

Should I save her? But I want to sleep too. What if I save her and she becomes my friend? I don’t really have any other reason. I walked over to the three guys and placed my hand on the shoulder of who seemed like the leader.

 

“You wouldn’t want me to report you to prof. Frieda, right? I just came from her lab and she is available.”

 

The guy pushed me away and groaned at the mention of a professor.

 

“You better keep your mouth shut.” He said before he and his gang walked away.

 

“Hey, are you okay?” I asked but she was crying silently. I could see bruises on her body. I felt bad for her. She was definitely not okay.

 

“Hey… my dorm is nearby. Please come over, I’ll take care of your bruises.” I offered to help her but I got no answer. I can’t leave her be.

I ionized atoms from my body to track if anyone was nearby. Basically if any conducting body touched the area of ionized atoms, I would feel a bit of electric current on my body. I felt a group of people approaching the place. There were many of them. I peeked over and those were the same 3 guys with many more. One who stood out was Joseph. He really hates my guts. I had no choice now. I forcefully picked her up and started running. She was resisting and punching me but right now it’s best for me to get these punches.

 

“You don’t want to be bullied anymore right? Then just calm down.” I opened the door to my dorm when the group saw me and started running towards me and this girl.

We quickly got in and closed the door. The doors in this building had some sort of magic spell on them which nullified all kinds of magic and the door can only be opened by the occupant of the dorm room.

 

“Now let me take care of your bruises.” I placed an ice pack on her bruises. Mainly her arms. It seemed like these guys forcefully held her arms tightly. If she wants to press charges against them, this would’ve worked as a fine piece of evidence in my world but fingerprint scan isn’t invented plus she is a magicless woman. In this country, she is pretty much a punching bag that has consciousness.

 

“So, sorry for forcefully bringing you here but I wanted to avoid confronting them.”

 

“You should’ve let them do what they wanted to me. Now you’re going to get targeted as well.”

 

“When has prey targeted its predator?” I asked in return which left her speechless.

 

I just thought of this line on the spot and I think I deserve recognition for it.

 

“Your victory against Kristine was just a fluke. Don’t get too cocky.”

 

“That’s for me to decide. Anyways, your name?”

 

“Marie… Ertionite.”

 

Ertionite? Maybe it’s a noble family name.

 

“So you’re a noble?”

 

She shook her head.

“I got disowned for being magicless.”

 

“Then let me have you.” I smiled. She was confused by my statement.

 

“You were thrown away by your own family. But I can make use of you. I need you, Marie.” I already had plans on adding her to my team especially regarding the discrimination faced by magicless people.

 

“What are you planning on doing?” She asked.

 

“I’ll make you the queen of this nation.” My declaration was too strong for someone who was pretty much thrown out of the castle.

 

“You’re just lying. How can a magicless person make me queen? You’re just as good as me.”

“Do you know why I have the backing of The Grand Order?” I asked and lifted my hand and created a purple fireball. It shocked her way too much.

 

“H…how…? You’re registered as magicless… What is the fire? This color I’ve never seen before.” She covered her mouth in shock. She had her eyes wide open while staring at the fireball.

 

I extinguished the fire and leaned close to her and placed my left hand on her left cheek. Learned it from Shiroyu herself on how to dominate in a certain situation.

My main reason was to create equality in this country. It would be hard but with good support I think it’s possible. It was my mother’s teachings’ influence. I had no obligation to do it. I wanted to do it. I think the current queen is not a good enough leader. I wonder what’s up with her. I think stress got to her but she is not setting a good example as a queen.

 

“Let me raise you to the status of a queen and that way we can create a just society. One where slaves don’t exist, one where every single person is treated equally, one where women aren’t treated as bargaining chip. If you help me, we can create a peaceful world.” I moved away.

She is cute so falling in love would cause too much trouble for me.

 

“I… a queen? But I’m not a rightful heir to the throne.”

“Usurp the throne. We will take it by force.”
