Chapter 6: Journey to The Empire (Ch-6)

A woman walked forward and bowed to me.

“Sire, Sasaki Mizuhara. I was the accountant for Lord Coremun, a noble before war broke out.”

“A noble? I expect you to live up to my expectations. So, now the party will have 3 women and 1 man, huh? OK then.”

“3 women sire? I thought it was 2 women- lady Historia and Royal knight Leanna. Is Lady Keshi coming along with us?”

“No no. I mean you, Leanna, Historia and me.”

“Sire… I… I am a man.” Sasaki clarified with a more annoyed tone.

A man?! HOW?! He was cuter than almost all the women there.

“I-... see. I apologize. So, it’s 2 men and 2 women in the group. We will be leaving after breakfast, so get your stuff ready and bid farewell to whoever you want.” I got down the wooden crate and walked back into the hut. I messed up there. It was so embarrassing that I thought he was a woman. Well whatever. My biggest worry right now is how utterly weak I am compared to everyone here. I have to tell Leanna and Sasaki about the fact that I don’t have magic too.

“Sire.” Leanna called for me after some time. I turned around and saw all 3 ready to leave. I had already packed my bag the night before so I just picked it up and walked out of the hut to see all the people standing there.

They all cheered for me and thanked me. I would’ve cried a little but given the circumstances I was worried about their safety. I may have only known them for about 3 days but still, I wish for nothing but best for them. I have already taken care of their food crisis, sorry, I can’t help you with anything more for now. I apologized to them in my mind before I was hugged by Keshi. I would have blushed a lot but now that I know she is married I don’t feel much.

“I hope you four take care of yourselves.” Keshi moved back and smiled at us.

“Take care of these people. I don’t want any to be eaten by demons or attacked by bandits.” I ordered and Keshi just nodded. I had a feeling she was simply ignoring my order.

We bid farewell and walked away from the hut.

I’m going to miss them.

“Leanna and Sasaki, a secret, I want you to take this secret with you to your graves.”
The two nodded.

“I don’t have magic.” The two were shocked and looked at each other.

Leanna gulped and asked in a confused tone. “Historia, you knew?”

“Yes, he told me yesterday about it. I don’t mind it because he has proved himself to be a greater weapon. Greater than anything. I can’t go into details but I have decided to still be his vassal.”

“If that’s what you’ve decided then I think it’s the right course of action. You wouldn’t make stupid decisions.”

“Vassal? Historia, don’t forget the story we have come up with. Leanna is our bodyguard while you are my wife. We met during the war and married recently. Make sure no one finds out that I’m the leader and you three are my vassals. We need entry in the empire.”

The two nodded.

“Sire, since you don’t have magic, how did you defeat all those men?” Sasaki asked and I just shrugged.

“Using my brain. It’s my weapon just like Leanna’s sword. I defeat people by outsmarting them.”

“You have some otherworldly knowledge.”

“I do in fact. But that’s for another day. We have 50 days to get to the empire and then have them win the war against demons.” I told them while thinking of that specific weapon from my world.

Should I bring that into this world? Or should I find some other way out of it? Let’s see when the time comes. A weapon used to conduct one of the most diabolical atrocities ever committed by any human. It was used twice in our history but it is a quick way to get rid of the demons. Of course I know this would cost the lives of every human in the blast radius. I don’t know if it would be worth it.

I turned to my left to see Historia and Leanna being romantic. I gagged instinctively. How can you two be happy when I don’t even have friends? I wish I was that petty to ruin their relationship but I’m not. Sasaki on the other hand was confused about Historia and Leanna.

“They’re in a romantic relationship.” I told Sasaki who was even more confused now.

“But sire, they’re both women.”

“I know. It’s completely ok. They look cute together right?”

“I guess.” He replied while trying to digest the entire thing. It must be really weird for him but at least he isn’t repulsed by it. Sasaki looked a lot like a woman, be it his slightly longer hair, no visible body hair or his body itself, he was a straight up trap for men. I hope he is useful in certain scenarios.

We had been walking for about 2 hours now, so we decided to take a break. Sasaki, Historia and Leanna were swimming in the ocean while I was sitting on the sand looking at them. I took my phone out and decided to read a bit since I wasn’t really fond of the ocean. I disliked anyone seeing my body.

“Sire!” Leanna called and I looked up.

“Don’t you dare throw water at me. It will ruin the magic item that I have.” I warned her because

I KNOW people who do this and it’s so annoying. I quickly shoved my phone in my sweatpant’s pocket and closed the pocket’s zipper to avoid it getting wet.

I was actually reading about thermodynamics. This world doesn’t have the easy access to chemicals like my world which has forced me to come up with alternatives. It’s tiring but it’s not like I have a choice.

They started running towards me out of the blue. They were kind of far away so I could not make out exactly what they were saying. They were asking me to move?

I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen. I coughed up some blood while hearing muffled voices of my team. I looked down to see the tip of a knife poking out. I looked up as Leanna drew out her sword but I fainted.

I woke up panting while thinking about what had happened. I looked at my abdomen and noticed that there was no wound there. Historia and Leanna hugged me tightly while crying a bit.

“Sire, you’re lucky I have healing magic.” Sasaki said.

I see. I was healed by him. I looked at the two women hugging me. It must’ve been traumatizing for them to see me almost die.

“I thought we lost you too, sire.” Historia said in between her sniffles. “We’ve already lost too many people dear to us. I was scared we would lose you too.”

“Our families, friends and nation are already wiped out. We don’t want to lose you too. You’re our last hope.” Leanna said while looking down. “I’ve failed as your bodyguard. I was too relaxed despite our circumstances. I deserve to be punished or maybe even banished.”

“Shut up. I’m still alive, y’know. Just be more careful next time. I’m not very eager to die, either.”

I said and slipped out of their hug.

It felt awkward being hugged that tightly by two girls. Stop thinking dirty thought, we have things to worry about plus those two are gay. They were just extremely worried because I almost died despite being under their protection.

On the first day, I almost died. I wonder what the remaining days hold. I got up and picked up the bag.
