It’s been two years since they moved to Canada, living in Quebec, Montreal.
Romeo was out working always, and Halo finally opened a bakery that was bustling with customers every day.
Romeo bought him a building and all the equipment he needed, but it was up to Halo to do the advertisements and keep the customers happy.
Juliano was home school for a year, but last year, he wanted to go back to school, so even though his parents didn’t want him to; they enrolled him into a private school.
“Your father said he has a surprise for us so you can’t go to your friend’s house,” Halo said as he helped a customer.
Juliano was sitting by the table, eating a caramel tartlet and doing his homework. He looked over at his father and asked, “Do you know what it is?”
Halo shook his head. “No, and I will not force him to tell me.”
“I don’t like surprises,” Juliano said.
Halo looked over at him briefly, then sighed. He quickly helped the next customer, then turned to Amanda and asked her to help the customers.
He sat down opposite Juliano and looked at what he was doing. He saw a bunch of numbers and said, “I’m not even going to ask.”
Juliano laughed and closed the book. He rested his head on his hand and said, “Learning French is hard. I have a test tomorrow.”
“You’ll get there, baby, and it doesn’t matter if you don’t get first place. A pass is a pass,” he said as he rubbed Juliano’s head.
“Daddy’s going to carry on for himself as always,” he said.
Halo nodded. He dipped his finger into the tartlet, picking up the caramel, and said, “I saw you didn’t open the letters from Antonio.”
“When was that?” He asked.
“This morning,” he answered.
Juliano looked at his father, then said, “Oh, I’ll open it later. I was tired last night.”
Halo nodded his head. “Did you tell him you have a girlfriend?”
Juliano glared at him. “She isn’t my girlfriend.”
Halo rolled his eyes. “She called you ‘My chocolate darling’, so what is she? Your Vanilla biscuit.”
Juliano groaned and lowered his head, saying, “You’re so embarrassing.”
Halo said, “I always thought that you two would end up together. Maybe you’re not gay like I think you are.”
Juliano chuckled and shook his head, “Yes, yes, let me finish.”

Halo stretched his arms, and back as he walked into the house. “Romeo, we’re home.”
Romeo was in the kitchen preparing dinner and grew excited when he heard Halo’s voice. He rushed out and greeted them, kissing them on their cheeks and lips.
Juliano looked at his father after sitting down on the couch and asked, “So, what surprise do you have for us?”
Romeo looked at his son and rolled his eyes. “Boy, at least look happy.”
“I will be once I see it,” he said with a smirk.
Halo looked at Romeo and said, “I want to know what it is too.”
Romeo looked at them with excitement shining in their eyes and said, “Okay, give me a few minutes. I need to get her.”
“Her?” Juliano and Halo repeated as he left.
They looked at each other and Juliano asked, “Did he get me a dog?”
Halo shrugged his shoulders. He got up wanting to follow Romeo, but Romeo returned just as he passed the corner.
Halo’s eyes widened, and he covered his mouth. He walked backwards back to the living room, alerting Juliano, who was yawning.

Romeo walked in holding a baby in his arms and said as he smiled, “Halo, Juliano, I’d like you to meet the newest member of our family.”
Juliano got up and walked up to his father, but Romeo sat down on the couch so that they could see her.
Halo looked at the baby and asked, “Romeo who’s child is this?”
Romeo looked up at him and said, “We’ve been talking about having another child and you know I am against having you give birth again because you almost died, so I went to an agency to find a surrogate and eleven months later, we have a baby girl.”
Halo took the child from him in disbelief. He was so emotional that he couldn’t explain it. He looked at Romeo as he rubbed her cheek and asked, “When was she born?”
“A week ago,” he answered.
“And the mother?” He asked.
Romeo shook his head. “I already told you. She’s from a surrogate. I had a nurse look after her just to be sure that there wouldn’t be any complications and I was given the okay to bring her home yesterday.”
“I thought it would be a dog,” Juliano said as he looked at her.
Romeo reached over and wiped Halo’s tears. “Are you happy?” He asked.
Halo turned to him and smiled, “Mn, I didn’t expect this.”
Romeo grinned, “I know.”

Halo couldn’t get over how adorable their daughter looked. He almost forgot about eating as well.
“What are you going to name her?” Romeo asked.
Halo raised a brow as he handed her to Juliano, who had just gotten out of the bath.
Juliano looked at Romeo and said, “I need help with my homework.”
“I thought you named her already. I was thinking of asking you what’s her name is , I just never got to it,” Halo said.
Romeo had a glaring contest with Juliano and said, “You were supposed to finish that.”
“It’s maths. Are you kidding me?” He groaned.
Halo tapped Romeo on the shoulder to gain his attention. “You’re joking, right?”
Romeo shook his head. “We still need to get her birth certificate done.”
Halo sat back and looked at her while Juliano was nestling his nose against hers. Turning to his husband, he asked, “What about Juliana?”
“That’s not even my real name,” Juliano groaned.
Halo raised a brow. “It’s your second name. Why don’t you like it?”
“You know I like Romeo more,” he smirked at him.
Halo shook his head, “And I wonder why, because your father hates his name.”
Romeo couldn’t be bothered with picking out a name. He didn’t want a simple name for her either, so it was best to keep his thoughts to himself.
He was going through the work with Juliano when Juliano suddenly asked, “How about we name her Milaan?”
Romeo slapped him on the head. “Shouldn’t you be figuring this shit out?”
Juliano nodded his head, “Yes, but we spell it M I L A A N instead of like Milan in Italy?”
Halo was busy prepping a bottle as he nodded his head. He was surprised at how prepared Romeo was for buying all the things the baby will need. All they needed now was to get her warm clothes for the crazy cold weather and a humidifier.
“I think it’s a good name,” Halo said as he walked over to Milaan, who was in a bassinet asleep. She was the sweetest. She cried when she was hungry or needed to sleep. Other than that, she was sleeping most of the time.
