Sun Wushe is quite restrained in general, or, at least, he’s far better at composing himself than the typical shemale. He doesn’t start a yelling contest with Jin Yue for his bullshitting, but reasons with him, “take him away? Make Cheng Zhaoci follow you? When the Federation bombards the Golden Lion with jagged metal, cower with you on a rickety ship?”
“Weapons don’t know how to hold back. If the male were to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, one particle beam later, you wouldn’t even have ashes to take home.
He could live to his natural death in peace and quiet on the Capital planet, and keep doing what he wants. Make him tag along with you? Don’t tell me you plan to train him to fight. Pirates are a diverse bunch, how would you even keep him safe?”
The space buccaneers are generally outlaws and exiles. Jin Yue might be the honourable exception, with his men atypically obedient to him, but that’s only when they’re dealing with Jin Yue.
A male! A male insectoid outside of the Federation’s protection! What good would ever come of such a male in the hands of those bastards?!
Jin Yue seems unhappy with that assessment, “what? Spent too long licking the boots of the Federation army? You’re theirs now?”
“I won’t deny that there are some shemales that can discipline and conduct themselves, but they don’t even make up a majority,” Sun Wushe has shed his usual sly smile, giving Jin Yue a cold glare, “if you threaten to endanger Mr Cheng Zhaoci, I promise you, you won’t be leaving the Capital planet.”
It’s quite the unthinking threat he’s making.
After the assassination of the late leader of Black Panther, the operations of the buccaneer gang has been left to Sun Wushe and another high-ranking subordinate of that leader. The next leader is likely to emerge from one of them.
Sun Wushe has a decent chance of winning, not least because Sun Wushe and Jin Yue’s Golden Lion are on good terms. It’s quite the backing for a potential new honcho.
It is nothing but political suicide to become openly hostile with the leader of the Golden Lion right now, especially with everything Sun Wushe has done to curry favours in the past. He might even have to face retaliation because of this outburst.
Jin Yue, though, completely calms down hearing Sun Wushe’s open threat. He knits his brows, looking Sun Wushe up and down.
Sun Wushe loves wearing black out of uniform. He has his hands crossed on his legs, sitting in the shadows where the light at the top cannot illuminate his appearance.
When he sheds his friendly front, he’s no different from a viper. Merciless and decisive. He should not have stopped him with such direct words at such a timing; whatever ridiculousness Jin Yue was spouting, Sun Wushe could simply continue to ensure he does not get caught up.
“You. You’re interested in that little ugly thing, aren’t you? You want him as your xiongzhu?”
“I don’t,” Sun Wushe denies, “what an infeasible suggestion.”
“You don’t look at all like you don’t want him,” Jin Yue narrows his eyes doubtfully. He hasn’t actually interacted with the little ugly thing all that much. In fact, they might not have even spent 24 hours in total together. While he knew Cheng Zhaoci before Sun Wushe came to know him, but he probably doesn’t know the little ugly thing as well as Sun Wushe does.
Sun Wushe looks almost like Jin Yue has just threatened to kill his entire family and their dog or something. Really? And you say you’re not interested in the little ugly that way, hmm?
“No. I know myself all too well,” Sun Wushe leans back on the sofa now that this topic has come up; it’s slightly more comfortable and familiar for him. The light still doesn’t illuminate him much, of course.
The same way he cannot just stand in the open daylight, to confess his true feelings to a certain male.
Sun Wushe watches the hanging light on the ceiling as he says, “I’m different from him. Too different. It wouldn’t do for us to become any closer.”
“I do like him, though,” and even wonder sometimes, if he really was just another normal shemale soldier you could find anywhere, maybe he’d have a chance.
But of course, it is impossible. As proven when Meng Yuele shared the gossip with him that Cheng Zhaoci and Wei Zhuo might have a little something something going on.
Sun Wushe knows himself too well, as he said. He does not begrudge Cheng Zhaoci at all, that he ended up falling for that stuck-up Wei Zhuo.
Begrudge him for what? He doesn’t even know what he thinks of him, because he wouldn’t tell him. It’s also outrageous to demand to be loved in turn when you fall in love with someone.

He also knows he isn’t as disciplined and responsible as that damned Wei Zhuo is. He’s an undercover – a turncoat, basically. Would there be a single insectoid who can accept a shemale whose real identity is an undercover space buccaneer?
Not to mention Sun Wushe does not plan to abandon his scheme in the name of love.
He still has his goal, that he will not give up just because he is in love with a male. What about all those years he spent planning all this?!
That’s why they do not suit one another. From a psychological to a rational perspective, they are not meant for one another.
Giving up pursuing the male from the beginning is the easiest way out for him. Even though, sometimes, he finds himself taken by insomnia, and his mind drifting off to insane make-believe land to imagine how they might look like if they were together.
“Wow, this is some hard shit,” Jin Yue is shaking his head as Sun Wushe divulges, “fine. I’ll be… trying not to, kuhum, kidnap him.”
What if he ends up also feeling this deadly attraction if he kidnaps the little ugly thing? Jin Yue has never fallen in love with any insectoid, but looking at how Sun Wushe has been affected, it’s definitely for the worse.
See? Sun Wushe’s practically been fucked in the head. He actually threatened to break off the friendly relations with Golden Lion for the little ugly thing. Inconceivable. Is this what falling in love does to someone? Yeah, he’s having no part of it.
Though knowing the little ugly thing is on the Capital planet right now, means Jin Yue won’t just settle down and never go seek him out again.
Jin Yue really is quite the unpredictable madman who cares not for rules and warnings. He would not have sent that selfie to Cheng Zhaoci right after escaping capture if he wasn’t.
He won’t kidnap him, sure, but he can look for him, no? And then clamp his mouth shut immediately, so that he doesn’t start yelling bullshit.
“What’s with this chilly feeling on my back?” Cheng Zhaoci shudders for no reason. He glances out the window, hmph, it’s a sunny, balmy day. Then perhaps someone is thinking about him?
“Xiao-Ci, don’t get distracted while reading,” Mr Liang is smiling next to him.
The young male really is a good student, save for his tendency to get distracted easily, especially when studying and reading those text documents online. He can even stare at the adverts for half a day.
“Mr Liang, I have a question,” Cheng Zhaoci looks up at his teacher, “it is legal for us insectoids to date and everything before 18, as long as we don’t actually do the thing, is it?”
“You’ve someone you like?” Mr Liang is intrigued. He was not expecting Cheng Zhaoci to find the one he loves for a long time, since he has quite a lot of unique thoughts that might clash with other insectoids. That said…
“What good news, then. Your Awakening procedure after you come of age would not be as painful.”
“Awakening?”
“It refers to the start of the release of your pheromones when you come of age. The higher your aptitude, the harder it is to overcome,” Mr Liang gives Cheng Zhaoci’s tablet a glance. As expected, not a page flipped through since he started reading, “it is not always a good thing to have a high aptitude for males, who are generally less physically fit.”
“The mortality rate for a grade A Awakening stands at around 3%.”
Cheng Zhaoci appears wholly stunned, “m-mortality rate?! I could die?!” He didn’t know at all. He only knows he would start releasing pheromones, and they might bring him trouble.
“Yes. My apologies, but your dad might not have been aware either,” having left the Capital planet with egg in stomach that early on, and not having prepared for the possibility that he was bearing a male at all.
This also isn’t taught among the general male insectoid lessons, because there are too few grade A males. Among the very small male population, only around 2% of them would end up reaching grade A in aptitude.
However, Mr Liang thinks it is likely Cheng Zhaoci would be grade A, and in fact, so too might his two male friends be.
