Chapter 16: Some Phony Business

"Now that I am finally done with collecting wood, I should probably make my way back home. It's getting pretty dark now!"

'Though... I don't think it will be best for me to come straight back home, because I'm so tired and stinky. So I'll just make my way to the spring before rushing home.'

I thought before reviving myself from the ground and immediately shuffling out of the foliage. I began running and came to an abrupt stop as I heard the sound of the water beating across the rock. With the sound rushing into my ear, I launched myself into the cold spring oasis. I dived into the water and made a considerably large splash. I began to sink into the ice-cold water and began to gag. The icy feeling was something!

"It's so nice bathing like this! It's as if being in this spring makes all of my worries and issue with life melt away! It's as if all that negativity that was engraved into my soul and mind over my years of being in school is slowly slipping away, making me purified. All that stress is slipping out of me, as I truly embrace life for what it is! God's blessing upon this wonderful world!"

I began to hold my hand out and form a thumbs-up. What I said was quite wise and pretty profound. Perhaps, I was getting smarter- I began to think it through before blushing. It sounded smart but it just sounded a little too chuunibyou for my liking.

"Note to self, don't ever talk like that in the future. It's super embarrassing and won't do you any good. It's going to make everyone in the world look at you like a crackhead. Remember that those dark days of being a chuunibyou kid at the park are over."

I said to myself before diving into the water, where I would swim for quite a bit before glancing up at the sky.
