Chapter 30: Satsuki’s Morning Training

I stared at her as my feet began to dry up over ht green grass. The water was flushing off my skin and the watery sensation was drifting away from my body. She stood over me about half a foot tall and had one of the brightest smiles in the world. 

"So today, I'll be allowing you to use magic as you wish! However..."

She passed for a bit before drawing her body closer to me.

"You should seek to use your magic in interesting and unique ways."

I nodded.

"Alright. So what will you be doing in the meantime? Just looking over me?"

"That's what I am going to be doing."

I nodded and she nodded as well. I began to smile and extended my hand out. A swirling sensation made its way through my veins and into my right hand. It entered the palm and left through the skin. It began to pulsate and radiate about the skin and began to twist and turn. Twisting, turning, and curling like a tornado. A small little tornado ripple from my mana and it was about to grow bigger. Much bigger.

'This is nice, but I wonder if I could transform this into some kind of wind slash. Kind of like Krillin's Destructo-disc!'

I thought to myself as I began to smile once. The tornado grew faster but as it did so it became flatter and shorter. It became more intense. More passionate and much more deadly. It swirled with such a passion that I was sure that it could cut across worlds itself. Though that would definitely be a bit of a stretch. More than a bit, if I were to be completely honest.

"Hey. That's a pretty interesting move. How about you test out for a bit?"
I nodded before throwing it toward a large green pine tree that had stood to the side of the waterfall. It launched right into action and rushed with sonic speed. It made an impact on the tree and began to swirl aimlessly. Before what had remained of the tree were two parts. The stump and everything above it.

"Wow. That destructive power is definitely something."

Iffy complimented me from the side with a voice of astonishment.

"I'm pretty sure the spell you used is called [Air Razor]".

I began to smile.

"That name is pretty cool, but I thought it would be named something cooler than that."
She began to stare at me with her face morphing with a bit of confusion before coming to a realization.

"You know, you don't have to stick with the name [Air Razor} and could instead just change it's name to something that you like more."
I nodded.

"You do have a point..."

I paused before muttering under my breath.

"but then it's just an issue of finding a name for it. Meaning that I am essentially back to square one in regard to the name question."

"Oh! I have an idea! You could name it Satsuki Air Razor!"

She said as her eyes lit up in a burning passion. A burning passion that was too passionate for this world, but simultaneously too dumb for this world.

"Yeah. I'd rather not name my own move after me. It just makes me look like a self-obsessed slob. Plus Satsuki Air Razor doesn't exactly roll off the tongue well and sounds pretty cringe."
"Well then, you could just cut it down to razor."

"Razor is a good name, but it's just a bit boring. Names for my special move should have a cool origin and should strike fear in my enemy. Razor or anything like that won't fit it."

"Hmm... Well then."

She paused before a blank expression came over her face as she began to scratch her head.

"I've got absolutely nothing!"

"That's unfortunate. You can continue coming up with names. In the meantime, I will be learning to control my magic abilities."

She nodded before walking off and sitting on a rock. I sighed.

'Iffy isn't really helping me right now. I thought she would be teaching me with an on hands approach, but it's pretty unfortunate that she's just lazing around and catching butterflies or something.'

She clapped her fingers.

"Oh, nice! A rare butterfly! My father will love this!"

'Uh... I will not comment about that and I will just be looking over the fact that it had just happened right after I thought of it.'

I shook my head before returning to my thoughts.

'My Air Razor is definitely strong but I feel as if there are multiple flaws with it. For one, the speed of the technique is definitely lacking. It should have gone faster. Way faster, with this speed contributing largely to its destructive capacity. Two, the razor wasn't short enough. I should have made the razor skinnier to better concentrate its energy. And most noteworthy, there was an odd pause when the razor hit the tree. I thought it would just bring the tree out of this world, but for some reason, the tree had survived for a long time, and only after a while, the tree came down. Perhaps this issue is coming from how these trees are designed, with their potentially being a hard-as-hell bark layer on it that makes it impossibly hard to log down. Or perhaps, the cause of this issue is not the design of my trees, but rather my technique having some kind of hiccup. Maybe I just didn't distribute my mana enough across the razor leading to its collapse. Perhaps, I should concentrate less mana in the center part and distribute more of it to the periphery to then give it the cutting edge.'

"Hey, Satsuki do you wanna try out water magic?"

I nodded.

"Is this the real reason why you brought me over this waterfall?"

"Yeah. It was what I was planning on teaching you. But it seems like I forgot about it. It's not like I have forgotten my plans following a certain splashing incident."

She coughed out and stared at me.

"Yeah. Yeah. It isn't like such a thing has ever happened to us. I can assure you, that I would never do such a thing!"

I chuckled nervously.

"So coy! It's as if we have a natural-born politician standing before me."

"Uck don't even compare me to such trash. Let's just get on with this lesson."

I nodded and she did so too.
