Chapter 1: Prologue

"Am I hallucinating?" He said as he rubbed his eyes, trying to unsee what just happened in front of him.

A blue light shining brightly on a word that attracted his attention from the other texts.

"Te..le..por..ta..tion?"

Suddenly a magic circle appeared underneath him, and everything around him began to fade away.

[Teleportation] activated

Dazzling light shined from the magic circle and engulfed surrounding in the light.

Suddenly he appeared on a battlefield, the situation was very severe.

Goblins are attacking a human village ferociously and the villagers were doing everything they could to protect it, but they couldn't stand a chance.

Two of the villagers was rushing to the front line and saw them and said,"Milia what are you doing here, get back quickly!"

After that they rush and fighting with a goblin that was armed with an axe.

The conclusion is well known. They couldnt withstand few blows from the axe and 

Dropped their pitchforks. They then run away from it.

He watched the whole fight and he thought that even if he were here, it wouldnt make a difference.

"I don't think I can help you, if anything, we should leave, let's go." Alfred said.

He grabbed her hand and tried to escape with her but she shrooked off his hand and said, "No, this is my home, I can't abandon it."

He felt conflicted from her personal feelings and the urge to flee from this place.

But he then asked again,"Why am I summoned by you in the first place, and what makes you think I can handle this?"

"You are a hero, according to the book."

"A hero? But I'm just a student." 

She pushed off his hand, tears started to fall from her round cheeks.

"Why…. I did all my best, used up the best sacrifice materials I could get, exhausted all my mana, why…. why can't I summon a hero?" She blamed herself, covering her face with her hands, groveling on the ground.

As her tears were overflowing, Alfred couldn't help but sympathize with her. She was expecting a hero to appear, and save her village, but the one she summoned was instead him.

If only she successfully summoned a hero instead of me, haih, this must be fate.

"Run, Milia run!" The villagers warned her from afar. She suddenly wiped her tears and somehow woke up to her senses, "We have to run!" 

She grabbed his hands and quickly ran off.

But even if they ran, their speed was slower than the goblin that was chasing them.

He knew that if this continues, it will be to no good. He then looked at her magic book.

"Hey, can you use some spells now? Like to blow him away or escape?"

She responded,"I can't, I have used all my mana to summon you. I don't have any spare power anymore."

Alfred looked at the book and suddenly felt something special, he suddenly felt the urge to hold that book.

"Milia, could you lend me the book?" He suddenly said, shocked Milia.

"Oh… Okay…"

She then lends the book to him. He then quickly rummaged through some pages to find a certain page.

" *pant* *pant* I'm sorry Hero, but I don't have any stamina left." The goblins then caught up to them and pinned them down to the ground.

The goblins' saliva is dripping on them like an endless river.

"No, don't give up!" He said, finally found the word.

I might be crazy, but here we go.

The word is:

He chanted and thought of a sphere of fire, as the word itself explains, to create a bolt of fire destructive enough to destroy the goblins.

He extended the palm of his hand, and visualized a red, vigorous flame forming on the palm of his hand.

A red magic circle appeared with a flame coming through it. With a ball shape shoot as fast as a football towards the goblin.

"Bam"

The area infront him exploded together with the goblin. After the smoke cleared up, nothing to be seen, except the ashes and smoke."

"Wow, so you are a hero after all, all my hardwork is not for nought, '' Milia cried in joy.

"Unbelievable, I couldn't believe what I just did." He murmured in amazement, looking at both of his palms that just released the fiery hot flames.

However, thanks to his flashy explosions. He successfully attracted much unwanted attention, as the goblins stared at him furiously.

"Uh oh, what should I do now?" 

Suddenly, the book flipped itself to a certain page, and another certain word glowed in bright blue.

[Friction]

Physics? Well not bad.

He chanted the word out loud. 

"[Friction]!" 

After he chanted [friction], he felt as if the air friction between his body and the friction force had been reduced.

The villagers were still fending off as hard as they could, "I don't think we could hold on much longer, this is the end.."

As the goblin wanted to deal the final blow, a firebolt hit him hard and burned him to ashes.

It was from him, the hero, that summoned by Milia, the villager of this village.

After defeating one, he had to go to defeat the others. He then changed his direction to the other side.

The villagers were thankful. One of them asked, "Hero , may you bless us with your name?"

Alfred then replied with a sternly,

"My name is Alfred, a nobody from the other world." As he said that, there was a kind of aura that radiates from him.

As soon as he spoke, he went off and smokes and explosions are visible in the battlefield.

All the goblins have finally been defeated. The joy of a diverted disaster is shown on the face of the villagers,

"Finally! The goblins are gone!"

"*sniff* that nightmare is now gone, goodness!"

"Thank you god, thank you…"

Seeing all of the goblins gone, Milia grinned, and thought, "Finally, it's all over." 

She stared at Alfred, who was being thanked by the villagers around him and murmured, "Thank you, Hero."

She then looked at the night sky full of stars, enjoying the night view, with a breezy wind of this night scene.
