Chapter 1: Prologue, goblin vs human war

Oh light, please grant us a hero that will save us at this moment." Prayed a priest amongst the war between humankind and monsterkind.

The sky started to stir up with darken clouds, and thunder started to rumble. Lightning struck the ground, damaging everything in the warfield. Heavy raindrops then started to pour onto this land.

"Ahh! Do not falter. As Elena was doing her best summoning the hero, we must not lose to the monsters!" A man who acts as a commander shouted, marching forward with weapons on their hands, eradicating all threats to their village.

The monsters screeched angrily as they put up a high resistance towards them.

"Elena! hold on, just a bit more!" Some female villagers gathered around her, a few using their magic to shield her from the rainstorm, and some poured all their mana slowly into elena.

Elena, 16 years old, the only priest in the village which has the capability to summon a hero, which is a very high feat as not many could be a priest. However, she did not guarantee if she could summon a hero in the first place, but there was no choice. In this predicament, if she were not to summon a hero, the village would be dead, as there were not many that could fight.

"Wahaha!" The monsters grinned and killed more and more villagers that were protecting them. The morale of the troops is slowly decreasing…

"A bit more…" Elena murmured, focusing all the mana and channeling through her palm towards a pile of scrap metals and an old looking book.

As the lightning strikes, a dark figure could be seen appearing behind the women protecting Elena.

It grinned evilly. It took its ax, preparing to slash the women.

"Not on my watch!" A young warrior blocked its attack with one of its blades, and slashed the monster's head.

"Kyle!" Elena shouted as she saw her brother protecting her.

"Focus on your task Elena, and don't worry, any monsters coming my way will be finished!"

"Cocky human.. cocky…" An orc suddenly appeared with a huge wooden club in his hand.

"Will you say that after I beat all of you?" It said as he commanded the goblins to launched attack to the women.

"Where's my dad?!" Kyle shouted as he saw his father, the commander and the other soldiers lying down on the battlefield.

"Don't worry, I'm very compassionate. I haven't killed all of them, I left some of them alive as well."

"You monster!" Kyle lunged his blade towards the orc but the blade was blocked by a horde of goblins. "Curse you!"
