"Because of you the Sergeant died!" A soldier pointed and yelled, while beating the shit out of Emil.

An entire group gathered around him and we're kicking his face and nuts in. His black skin turned purple and swollen from the bruises. Just kidding. Did you really think he was black?

He's whatever race you want him to be. ????

But since this is Isekai he is canonically Japanese. Well maybe half Argentinian.

"I was only following orders," Emil cried through screams of pain as his testicles retreated up inside his body.

A large burly knight in shining armor pushed the soldiers aside, "Wait. You can't just beat this young boy to death! You can't go around delivering mob justice on the battlefield! Not without cracking open a can of ice cold beer!" He started passing out cold ones while they each took turns kicking and punching Emil.

"I knew the Sergeant since he was just a boy!" The knight said kicking Emil in the chest, fracturing his ribcage.

"I knew him since we we're babies!" A random soldier just summoned in yesterday lied while Kicking Emil's teeth in.

"I knew him in a past life," another said, pulling his pants down.

"Wait a second?" The knight said, staring at the guy taking off  his paints, "Gay rape? Gay rape? GAY RAPE?!?! Get him!" And the mob suddenly changed targets and began beating the shit out of the rapist.

Back inside the walls Emil went to the truck that his squad has ridden in. He took a medpack from the back, instantly healing his broken bones and bruises.

"Let's get going," Emil told the driver, "I was the only survivor."

"Alright mate. Off we go then," The driver said back to him in a piffy English accent.

They arrived back in the city at dusk. Emil went straight to the barracks to receive his pay for a hard day's work. Although the barracks looked all primitive from the outside, the inside was full of futuristic technology and mechanical devices. Robots and cyborgs walks around as if it were completely normal. If they ever stepped outside they could psychologically harm the poor peasants and drive them mad. They were the last line of defense.

"Hold your hand out please," the chipper female attendant with enormous fake breasts told him. He held his hand out while trying to hid how happy he was to see her. She passed a handheld scanner over his hand, reading a microchip beneath the skin.

"Looks like you got zero kills today," She said with a pouting face. Emil tried to contain himself but it was no use. He was going full tent mode and everyone could see.

"I saved the squad and got my tower up though!" Emil stammered.

"That's not the only thing you got 'up'," she chimed back like a fucking bitch whore. "Since you've been a good boy though, I'll give you a little bonus." She did that weird anime girl wink thing.

Emil knew she was for the streets, but he didn't care. He wanted her and no one else. At least until another woman showed him even an ounce of attention. He collected his reward money. One copper piece, the smallest level of currency. Thankfully though since this was mideval times, his one coin was worth like twenty dollars.

That night Emil went to sleep under the stars. Nestled between bundles of hay and horse crap. Yeah he had to sleep in a stable because he was poor and stupid.
