Chapter 1: Welcome to Chaintezie!
Ah, Civilization V. That was Mathew's favorite game of all time. Ever since it came out, he has been in and out of war, in and out of peace. He rather liked playing as Attila the most, because of the husbandry technology being given to him right out of the bat.
Currently, Mathew was still playing Civilization V, with him being in war with both Rome, and Persia.
Normally, they would have never banded together. It was not like Mathew turned off their personalities.
Sure, if they managed to defeat him, they would turn against one another. Not that he would know. Unlike with the victories, once you were taken over, you couldn't watch the game unfold.
Just as Mathew was positioning his Gatling guns, and laughing at the fact that Rome still used legionaries, something happened. He felt weak, all of a sudden. He swayed to the side, and then fell from his chair. As the room began to spin, he heard the sound of a nuclear bomb coming from the laptop. Ah, darn Persia.

Error...]
Mathew could see all these messages. Just what did the error mean, anyway? And, why was he hallucinating about Civilization V, as he is dying?
He really should have slept more this week. Yet, between finals in the University, and his Civilization V game session, there hadn't been any time for sleeping.
"Five billion years, or just let me die!" Mathew said, with his last strength leaving him.
[Age picked: 5 billion years!
Starting era: error!]
And so, Mathew felt a tug on him, and then suddenly felt that his body died. It was painful, like nothing he has ever felt before.
And yet, when he opened his eyes, he was wearing something like a large tunic, with pants on, and a head covering. He wondered why, seeing as he was in the middle of a jungle.
The brown-haired man looked around, and saw that there was nobody with him.
"Hello? My name is Mathew Collinson. Is somebody in here?" Mathew yelled. He heard footsteps, and saw that a man was approaching. He looked to be made of a pure muscle wall, and was tall, to boot. Mathew looked at his face, and when he saw the red eyes, he began to back away.
Suddenly, the strange texts right before he died began to make sense. Yet, what was a vampire doing out during the day? Shouldn't he be screaming? And, just what did the vampire want with him?
"My name is Yrin, and this is my territory," the vampire said, as he knelt to be face to face with Mathew. "What right do you have to be here?"
Does Mathew explain to him, what just happened. If this was indeed just a Civilization V game, and the world was 5 billion years old, then...shit. There was no way that this man was going to view Mathew in a friendly light. Didn't people stone other people, during that age?
"I am a Civ Leader," Mathew decided not to lie. Yrin blinked at him, and then tilted his head to the side.
"A what now?" Huh, wasn't this vampire his system? Mathew was confused.
"You know, a Civ Leader. People should be on their way, to make a city here," Mathew said, and Yrin blinked at him.
"People, coming in here, in my territory? I don't think so," with that, the vampire took Mathew by the collar of his tunic, and hoisted him up. "If you manage to attract humans to come in here, and build a city, then I will believe you. If you can't, then you are dead meat."
Mathew gulped. He would rather not feel the same pain he felt when he died the first time. And so, he bit his lower lip, and did his best to look into Yrin's eyes.
"Come on, I know you are the system. Activate!" Mathew said, as Yrin blinked at him.
"Just why would I be a... what is a system, even?" Yrin asked.
"They told me that my system will be a vampire," Mathew said, not wanting to give up. "And you are a vampire."
"You are as crazy as the vampire I just killed. He was mumbling all sort of nonsense," Yrin said, and Mathew's eyes widened.
"You killed my system? Just what am I going to do, without a system?" He asked. They heard human voices.
As if summoned, humans began to move, with their pack animals, into the small clearing. Mathew was still disgruntled that his system was dead, but he felt hope. Now, Yrin had to keep his word, and not kill Mathew.
"Hey, hello!" Mathew waved at the humans, who glanced at him, and then began to set up camp, as if it was normal to see two men in a scuffle. "I really should create laws for them. And a government. They should recognize me, at the very least."
"You speak nonsense, human," Yrin said, but he did release Mathew from his hold. "But the humans did come. Now, do you know how to control them?"
"I don't know. Hey, is there a backup system? I'd take anything at this point. Even a Mud!" Mathew yelled, and the people did glance his way, but didn't stop with their unpacking.
[Back up system starting...

"No, here is fine. Let the game begin!" Mathew said, and then he felt something like a breeze go through him. And with that, the settlers were paying him much more attention.
