“Casa.” Javier, Noah, and James arrived at the compound.

The two approached the group, while Javier followed them because he had nothing to do and didn’t want to do his file duties.

“Heya! I’m glad you are alive and kicking. You didn’t tell us you went to the Mage Tower with the captain. I would’ve joined you guys.” Casa fist-bumped the two.

“Ah, sorry, I didn’t tell you. We went to a TRIS officer…” Noah said as he placed a palm on his head.

“No worries. We know, you don’t have to tell us.” Casa stopped what he was going to say next. However, both knew what it was, and they were grateful for his understanding.

They also told them about their departure to the United States.

“You think we’re stupid? We know old men need to study to keep up with the newer generation.” Mich said with a smile, and the squad laughed.

Noah frowned. “Oh, I guess I wasted my time worrying about us leaving. See you later, and may our aging memory forget about the friendships I made with you, assholes.”

“We’ll miss you too.”

“Hahaha..”

The group went to the only shopping mall in the city after the discussion. They spent the rest of the day picking Noah’s and James’ new clothes and playing games.

They even went to a training space to show off some magic to the two country bumpkins. They, of course, swore inwardly to learn magic and use it to beat up these bastards in the future.

Afterward, they went to eat and drink at the ‘best’ restaurant in Cusco, according to the squad. It was not the best. The two grudgingly ate the food to appease their jealousy when they realized that the food tasted like shit. Again, they were tricked by the buffoon squad.

Afterward, they went to a bar for a drink. Fortunately, these guys didn’t have any malicious plans this time. They voraciously inhaled the alcohol and ordered some more. Slamming tables as they laughed and annoying the other drunks as well. Everybody had a great time talking about their mundane lives outside work.

Noah raised his brows when Daniel and Mich went home together. It seems there’s more than a comradeship that is between the two. A smile gradually appeared on his face. Seeing those two drunks, he surmised they must have rented a hotel room.

Casa didn’t drink and was the designated driver once the alcohol knocked them out. Though it did not take long for all of them to go home.

It seems they had another mission coming in a few days.

The group went home and slept soundly in their rooms.

The next morning, they woke up and met.

Only four people traveled to the airport. Casa joined them, while the rest only wanted to rest for their next eradication mission.

The terminal was surprisingly not that different from in their time. There are baggage claim areas, ticketing booths, and waiting areas.

Though only a few people were leaving the city. Most of them were waiting for their baggage in the claim area, and some had already left the terminal.

It seems mages highly sought the monster eradication missions.

Do monster parts give an enormous sum of cash? Noah thought as they reached and sat in the waiting area. They would ride on a private plane to an academy in Arizona, along with Casa.

They appointed him to accompany the two newcomers to adapt to the world. Rome had Noah and James pick someone to join them, and they chose Casa. The person himself became overjoyed when they told him.

Apparently, Casa wanted to leave the city to earn more money as the patrol job doesn’t give a lot. He wanted to reach Advanced tier magic by the time he aged 29. Then, apply to a guild in the Americas.

So, it made him happy that the two invited him.

The flight was supposed to leave half an hour from now, so they conversed with Javier before they boarded.

Noah hugged him and James followed.

“I’ll see you guys later. I am sure you will achieve great things soon.” Javier said as he patted them with a smile.

“Maybe, but I want to visit my relatives first before that happens.” James shrugged.

“You’re not studying at the academy?” Noah had to ask.

“No, I will visit Australia after I graduate or so.” He said.

“Great.” Noah heaved a sigh. He thought he would attend the academy alone… Well, there’s Casa so he wouldn’t be but traveling with someone who had the same experience would be more comfortable.

“Casa, take care of them.” Javier stared at him, and Casa nodded.

The group talked about their destination. Future Sight Academy, according to Rome, was a facility built to teach the Transported. Although, it was soon changed to accommodate non-transported students.

The Transported would learn about their missed history and magic history, and even teach how to use magic. Overall, it was a place where they could socialize with each other comfortably as many Transported have difficulty adjusting to their situation.

When the boarding process started, all three waved and said their goodbyes to Javier.

They got on a private plane with some passengers. The plane was not that grand. It was the same standard size that Noah knew, with only a few modifications on its wings and body.

Formation lines lined up on the wings, maybe for protection. While the body had additional hatches on its side.

The plane flew after half an hour. Casa noted to the two that the engineers enchanted the wings to use defense magic and wing magic to increase the plane speed. Allowing any planes to counter air turbulence. That resulted in all planes being remodeled and the changing of flight paths all across the world. Making plane tickets cheaper as the new wing wind magic was popularized.

The extra hatches are also used for emergencies, such as monsters chasing them or in an urgent mission that needed the plane to fly faster.

Although, the latter needed the standby wind mages to make it work.

The flight would only take an hour, so the two didn’t sleep and marveled at the magic happening outside the plane.

Sometimes they would watch videos of fights on their screen.

Casa didn’t mind them and focused on the quests listed in the adventurer’s guild quest board online. He needed to maximize his profits during the trip while assisting the two settle down in their new city.

That way, he can resign from the patrol squad and earn more money to fund his cultivation.

Once they reached the airport, they grabbed their bags and headed to the entrance. There, someone was waiting for them.

The guide will tour them around the city and help them settle down in the designated apartments for people like Noah and James.

“Welcome to Arizona. I am John Dennis. I will be your guide for today.” He said with a bow and shook the three’s hands.

After packing up all their belongings in his vehicle, he drove to their apartment.

“We’ll go around the city after we visit your apartment. Then we’ll tour around the best places in Pheonix and eat at their best restaurants.” John looked at the three. Casa was beside him on the shotgun seat, while the two were at the back.

He continued. “Tomorrow, we’ll go to actual Future Sight Academy and have you guys enrolled.”

Along the way, John explained the history of the apartments.

The apartments were actually a part of the area assigned to the academy. It was the TRIS’ decision to include housing for the Transported students. TRIS wanted it so the students don’t feel lost or left alone in their new world.

Other than that, they have also added recreational facilities, so the students don’t need to leave the area.

It didn’t take long before they reached their destination.

They picked up their belongings and headed to the building. It looked the same design as the apartments Noah knew of. Maybe it was the TRIS’ decision to make them feel at home.

John presented his IDs and talked to the receptionist. After that, the rest showed theirs as well. They went to their three-bedroom apartment.

It was a decent-sized apartment. It has a living room with a couch, a black box with formation inscriptions, and two screens in the front. The couch and the screens were normal furniture and appliances, but the black box contain gadgets like a hologram or new phones.

The apartment also had a standardized kitchen with some functions clearly replaced with magic, such as the stove or the fridge.

Two bedrooms are on the right side, while the last is on the opposite side. Again, they were standard rooms; not too lavish, but not cheap looking as well.

After putting their possessions in their picked rooms, they went out for the afternoon lunch.

Next, they toured the tourist attractions.

First off, they visited the Grand Canyon. Noah noticed the landmark had changed over the years. It was much more… empty. Like nature has run across the entire place, broken rocks scattered all over, a vast, open land in the middle, occasional holes leading towards the dark below.

John explained the canyon has had monster infestations ever since the birth of magic. They deployed mages every time it happened, but the monsters would always return after a few years.

The Association was also unable to permanently guard the canyon because of its sheer size. So, they would only do eradication missions every 5 years.

Looking at the landmark, the two noticed a few irregularities in the natural shape of the canyon. They should either be magic spells or monster attacks. Unnatural holes pasted across many walls, dark marks on the ground with occasional torched plants, etc.

They only traveled a quarter of the canyon’s trail before they went back.

Afterward, they went to an art museum. It was fascinating to see that some items belong to their time. However, it also made them feel old and sad.

Some items were also magical artwork. They started moving like a physical gif when touched. But the most eye-catching one was an artwork that projected the art in a 3D manner. It was an artwork of the evening sky. When touched, it displayed the entirety of the sky as a 3D projection, which amazed even Casa.

John pointed out that it was the first application of the projection technique of light magic. Everyone stared at Casa.

“I can’t do it.” He felt ashamed when he saw them sigh in disappointment. With a stern look, he promised inwardly to learn it later.

The group looked at other unique pieces of artwork before moving on.

Next, they went to a magic zoo. There, the two found the same damned lizard that chased them all around Cusco.

Their surprised, widened eyes already told Casa about their feelings. Still, both of them can’t believe people would pay to see this murderous monster.

Casa patted their backs. “Don’t worry about it. They layered the cage full of barriers that can withstand general-class monsters. That’s two levels above that monster. It won’t be able to break it.”

“What happened?” John asked with an inquisitive look.

Casa told him about when Noah and James were chased around by the Spike-Tailed Chameleon, and how Noah was grabbed and almost eaten by the monster.

“Impressive.” That’s what John thought. Successfully fleeing from a peak soldier-class monster without cultivation is nothing short of impressive. Even if the monster is injured, it should still be as fast as a medium soldier-class monster. That meant these two are comparable to a monster of that level.

They went to other monster exhibits. Most of the monsters were only in soldier-class, so they weren’t threatening to most visitors as the two noticed everyone emit a scary presence at a closer look.

The group soon got bored watching gorilla monsters, so they went to the other tourist attractions John mentioned.

They went to a botanical garden filled with magical plants and flowers. Some flew and spun on the wind before coming back to their stem. Some created sparks of electricity and shocked the person close to them. Some even spat fire and burned its surroundings.

Next, the group arrived at the old parts of the city. Areas where millennium-old buildings were still standing.

Tired, they went to eat in the ‘best’ restaurant according to John. The two became apprehensive after hearing ‘best restaurant’ from his mouth, remembering the prank the patrol group did on them. However, this time it wasn’t a joke. The food really tasted amazing.

“Making dishes out of monster meat needed extra processing. But, doing that makes the food taste delicious, so it’s absolutely worth it. Although, proper magic techniques also make food taste better…” John delightedly explained.

The three didn’t even reply and just munched on the delicious food.

Seeing them stuff the food in their mouth without even breathing, John laughed and ordered another plate for all of them.

With their stomach full, they hopped into the car. John happily drove to their apartments.

It was night already, so they said their goodbyes, and John left.

Now, the three need to unpack their clothes before they sleep. But James immediately fell asleep after reaching his bedroom and before Casa could tell the plan.

“Oh, well. I will just wake him up earlier.” Casa said, and Noah nodded.

They unpacked their own clothes in the drawers of their rooms.

Afterward, they slept the first night in their new home.
