However, he felt as though he was just throwing a tantrum at Shen Jue.
Hence, he simply lowered his gaze and said in a frigid tone, “It probably has nothing to do with Teacher Shen.”
Nothing to do with me?
If it’s nothing to do with me, who do you want to have something to do with?
Shen Jue looked at Gu Yanshu’s cold expression, and he wanted to shake the man so hard that all his little thoughts would fall out. That way, he didn’t need to work so hard to mull over and guess what Gu Yanshu was thinking.
Thinking of this, Shen Jue felt a sour feeling suffocating him.
It was as though a kitten that he had lovingly reared had suddenly abandoned him, and had sought others out to rub its fur.
It made him so angry that he wanted to shave this cat clean.
As he pondered over this, Shen Jue felt that he had to be a little more brutal and a bit less humane. He had to make this cat bear the consequences for its own drunken actions, and not let him do another hit and run anymore.
Thus, he slowly sauntered to the sofa opposite Gu Yanshu and sat down. “As your former leader and current roommate, it’s not too much if I pay attention to your love life, correct?”
Gu Yanshu continued typing on the keyboard as he replied icily, “Teacher Shen also didn’t allow me to be concerned when you got a girlfriend.”
Girlfriend?
The long speech that Shen Jue had originally prepared was suddenly disrupted.
He paused for a moment, then recalled that Gu Yanshu had probably taken Xia Qingqiao’s words at this afternoon’s lunch seriously.
It can’t be that Gu Yanshu was feeling jealous?
However, regardless of whether Gu Yanshu was jealous or whether he was blaming Shen Jue for not telling him that he had a girlfriend, ultimately, it was because Gu Yanshu cared about him. So long as Gu Yanshu cared about him, there was a possibility that he liked him. And so long as there was a possibility that he liked Shen Jue, then Shen Jue could make Gu Yanshu his boyfriend.
Suddenly, the sourness in Shen Jue’s heart eased.
He chuckled, “I said it already. Xia Qingqiao was spouting nonsense. I don’t have a girlfriend.”
Gu Yanshu didn’t react.
Shen Jue felt as though he was a henpecked husband who was kneeling on a washboard and being thoroughly interrogated by his wife. His smile deepened, “Am I the type of person who would be secretive about my relationship?”
Gu Yanshu’s fingers paused.
Shen Jue certainly wasn’t like that.
If Shen Jue was in a relationship, he would certainly bring out the best of everything for the girl, pulling her into a dazzling and glorious world.
Hence, Shen Jue probably really didn’t have a girlfriend.
But he would definitely have one in the future.
Gu Yanshu felt some indescribable feelings surfacing in his heart. It was as though he had heaved a sigh of relief, but at the same time, he felt somewhat jealous. He didn’t understand why he was feeling that way, so he decided to simply ignore Shen Jue.
And for some inexplicable reason, after he tapped the space bar twice, he suddenly added without warning, “I don’t have someone I like. Brother Nan was overthinking things.”
Before waiting for Shen Jue to reply, he hastily threw in another line, “I still have some work to do, so I’ll get busy now.”
Shen Jue decided to let the matter rest. He would never disturb Gu Ynashu while he was working, hence he didn’t say anything else.
Yet, after listening to Gu Yanshu’s reply, he seemed to have made up his mind. The corners of his lips curled up unwittingly into a devious smile. Then he stood up and went to the bathroom to shower. After he changed into a set of clean clothes, he leaned lazily on his bed and started flipping through a script.
He would occasionally look up and glance at Gu Yanshu, observing the latter as he sat quietly on the sofa, his legs crossed and his back naturally upright. His long and curly eyelashes collected the warm lighting in the winter night, making him appear focused and serious.
It made Shen Jue recall the year that they debuted. Then, Gu Yanshu was in his third year in high school, and every night, he would burn the midnight oil this way.
Gu Yanshu was very smart, so even though he had comparatively less time than other students to study, his results were always good, and he wouldn’t have any problems enrolling into a Double First Class university [1]. Yet, he had never stopped working hard, because he really wanted to enter the school that he desired.
Thus, when Shen Jue found out that Gu Yanshu had agreed with the management agency to give up his college entrance exams so that they could debut, he was so angry that he ignored him for three whole days.
Later on, YOUNG disbanded, and he didn’t rush Ye Leng into signing him. Rather, he got someone to help Gu Yanshu fulfil his educational goals, and it was only after he had smoothly completed his high school exams that Shen Jue got Ye Leng to seek him out.
In Shen Jue’s mind, a pure and obedient child like Gu Yanshu should wear a white shirt and carry a backpack, and go to school to learn whatever he wished to.
He had also secretly visited him, and confirmed that Gu Yanshu looked best in his white shirt.
Of course, Gu Yanshu was good looking, regardless of what he wore or did.
He was cute even when he stretched, like a graceful kitten extending his body leisurely, revealing his nimble waist.
When Gu Yanshu had finally completed his song arrangement, he put his laptop down. He was so tired that he wanted to yawn, and halfway through his yawning, he met with Shen Jue’s undisguised questioning stare. Immediately, his expression froze, as he forcefully held his yawn back.
Tears were forming at the corner of his eyes from his action. “What are you looking at?”
“Looking at how good looking you are.” Shen Jue teased lazily.
Gu Yanshu’s face instantly looked colder.
Gangster.
So frivolous.
So depraved.
Tapping his laptop, Gu Yanshu stood up, then walked out of the room and called Fang Yuan.
“I’m done here. Come and pick me up.”
It was very noisy on Fang Yuan’s end. “Xiao Shu, you are done so soon? I’m still in the midst of discussion and entertaining the bosses of some brands. I was drinking a little, so I can’t go and pick you up.”
From the moment that Gu Yanshu had decided not to re-contract with U.N. and to start his own studio, Fang Yuan had been very busy. All of the networking, which Gu Yanshu wasn’t adept at, was handled by Fang Yuan on his behalf.
Gu Yanshu was very understanding. “Alright, I’ll head there on my own. Don’t drink too much or force yourself too hard.”
“I’m fine. You need to take care of yourself. Wear thicker clothes at night… Alright, I’ll be back soon. Xiao Shu, I’ll hang up first.”
The call ended.
Gu Yanshu returned to his room and packed his stuff, then wore a beige coloured jacket as he prepared to leave.
Shen Jue called him back, “Where are you going?”
“Guokong TV.”
“Is your manager picking you up?”
“I’m taking a cab.”
Shen Jue got up and changed his clothes.
Gu Yanshu frowned, “What are you doing?”
“I’ll drive you there.”

The plan aims to develop elite Chinese universities into world-class institutions by developing and strengthening the individual departments in these universities by the end of 2050.
