It was finally time, while the entire world was working like usual, there was a new experiment running in the Laboratory of dangerous experiments and KETA containment.
Here, they knew they might die, but all the Geniuses of earth and even the smartest moon settler were involved here, representatives of every country, without their political leaders knowing anything about it.
The Portal was ready, only a few calculations away from opening a gate to D-L-0-3, one of the few located universes in which a habitable earth existed, and they just needed to start the mechanism to finally gain access to that place, habitating it before the local wildlife would evolve it into D-L-1-3, and settling would be morally questionable and thus heighten the chances of sabotage from the European Scientists who represent the 'common sense' of the operation, not as free in experimenting, but the best speakers among them.
They knew they should check this formula 36 times at least, but they didn't have the time to do those anymore. The portal was only stabilizable for around one hour.
Doubts spread among them, and a few people decided to check on the Creatures of Eternal Temporal Annihilation, a title given to make sure nobody would be mad enough to free them, more than an accurate description of the situation.
The four most dangerous ones were well known among them. N.O.P.E, a Computer Virus capable of overwriting nearly everything, which would not be bad if it wasn't for the fact that its first action was taking over the computer that had the codes necessary to shut it down and then disabling them. It was inside a lead cage to make sure it is not capable of linking to any electronic device it hadn't invaded yet.
G.O.A.T, a green mist that seems to feast on anything organic and grow after consumption, and if that wasn't bad enough, it gained sentience. Its name means Gas of Overwhelmingly Acidic Terror. Only contained because it loved to bind with water and created a murky substance.
B.M.G, or Black memory goo, is a substance actively trying to enclose, deconstruct, and then imitate anything it touches. It was not yet successful at deconstructing Obsidian and seems to forget what it imitates after about 1 hour, turning back into a messy sludge.
And lastly, Glue, a single substance molding anything it touches together and merging it, must be kept airtight in a single material box.
So, after taking stock once more, George, the oldest among the crew, flipped the switch to start the experiment to link two dimensions.
What could go wrong?
