Chapter 1: Ignition: On The Day Of The First Murder

It was a normal day. No different from any other.

I was walking back home with the company of my older sister.

She was a 17-year beauty with charming blonde hair and emerald green eyes.

She was quite a beauty in many respects.

This would cause a various number of incidents between the two of us and her various 'followers.'

On the weekends, I would usually accompany my sister to the local cafe where then a lot of young men from my school and even some from my middle school would muster up pure liquid confidence and confess their love to her. 

I do remember that some of these guys were pretty interesting. Such as the guy who started a supposed million-dollar establishment off of drop shipping and the guy who always wore black and screamed about the existence of Lovecraftian hyper creatures. 

And she flatly refused them all.

You may be asking why she rejected them.

Well, it's simple. It's because she had her heart for someone else.

That special someone is me.

Oh yeah. That begs the question of who I am.

So I should properly introduce myself now. Or else I will run the chance of looking a bit rude in my story.

"Hey. Yua, why does it look like you are monologuing again? Don't you remember that when you monologue you usually get in trouble during school? Like, don't you remember that time when your school had a fire drill and you were too preoccupied with your thoughts? You know that tendency of yours gets you into trouble."

"I know sis. No need to remind me..."

I trailed off with a voice that just uttered pure disappointment.

"Sometimes it seems like you don't but then again perhaps I am expecting far too much out of a middle schooler like you."

"Right..."

I paused before continuing.

"So..."

"What is it?"

"Do you wanna go to McDonald's to get some ice cream?"

"Eh. McDonald's. It's just a bit far away."

"It's just two blocks away from home! Plus, you do technically owe me for making the graphics for your science project."

She blinked before chuckling.

"Yeah. I really owe you on that. My teacher really seemed to like those graphics and when I told her that you made these graphics. In a way, I felt like she began to fall in love again as her husband went somewhere far away."

"Somewhere far away..."

I paused.

"Like America!?"

"America is far away but I mean somewhere further than that."

"Like McDonald's?"

I asked and she chuckled.

"But we are here though."

"Huh..."

I blinked in confusion before noticing I was in the McDonald's doorway. 

What the fuck happened and why am I here all of the sudden...

"So what would like to eat, Yua?"

I am actually confused. Why am I here?

"Uh..."

"What would you like to get?"

Right! I am at a McDonald's! So of course, I am going to eat my favorite. Ice cream and nuggets!

"Ice cream and nuggets!"

"Alright. Just stay in the kids' section while I get our order."

"Okay."

I said as I made my way over to the ball pit and sat on its edge.

I wonder... What caused time to change so oddly?

"Hey! I am the hero and I am going to slay the demon lord!"

"Hahaha! You think you can slay me!"

"Of course, I can! I am the hero and I have the sword of prophecy!"

"As if!"

But to be honest, I don't think that should be my biggest concern now. Think about it for quite a few moments. Why unnecessarily stress yourself with some question that will never be answered when you can just admire your beautiful older sister from afar?

"And who might you be?"

"I am a mere hunter. And I am the lord of this ball pit."

"A hunter you say."

The two boys from the ball pit continued to go on with their fascinating play as I began to feel a little bored and somewhat tired.

It was at that point that I wanted to yawn and so I did.

"Yua."

I blinked mid-yawn and noticed my sister handing over my ice cream to me.

It's finally here!

Now finally I can enjoy this day!

I thought to myself as I broke into a smile of absolute euphoric joy.

"Now! Everybody get on the ground! This is a robbery!"

"A robbery!"

A female cashier at the counter was the first to react as all the people stuffed tightly into the establishment dropped onto the ground. That included me and my sister.

"No! No this can't be!"

She began.

"This is my first day on the job! There's no way that someone like me would be dying on my first day!"

Her eyes gaped widely as she pressed her hands against her face and began to laugh menacingly.

"Hahahhhahaa! There's completely no way that I will be dying! Hahaha!"

She laughed like a madman before walking up to the robber. He wore a dark blue baklava with his lips sticking exactly out. She chuckled before spitting on his shoes.

"You won't be taking my life! Because I have dreams! I have dreams of going to college. I have dreams of going beyond this shitty job. I have dreams of moving to America and starting my own real estate business! And I am not going to die her-"

The ashen shot of daybreak broke my view of the world like a symphony upon its end as it would crash against a sea of glass. It was never to be repaired. It was to never be restored. Please if you are reading this. Please save me from what I will become...
