The ANBU stood there, motionless, at the corner of a wall. He had just heard Tsunade's sad words. One of the doctors came out, his head bowed. Minato disappeared. He was now on the Yondaime Hokage statue.

"Jiraiya-sensei...and now you, Kushina?"

He lowered his head, dejected.

It was too sudden. It was too unpredictable. Everything had happened too quickly. She had simply fallen. And then? What had happened? What did she have? She remained in a coma. Her condition was stagnant. Her vital signs were normal. Kyubi hadn't freed itself. But all this time… She was dead. Was it a dream? A nightmare? When was Minato going to wake up?

“This nightmare... It won't stop.”

Minato shook his head, wanting to get that voice out of his mind.

“Insensitive to time, this suffering will remain engraved in your mind, eternally.”

“Shut up…”

“Because nothing can bring back a lost one.”

“Shut your mouth!”

A tear rolled down his cheek.

“This world... has no more hope. It’s lost. But I can change that. I can create a new world in which there is no war and no suffering... A world in which you will find the one you love... Kushina.”

Minato then understood that the voice wasn’t in his mind. He turned around.

His hair had grown longer, but his mask was perfectly recognizable.

“You!” Minato yelled.

He sent a kunai. The weapon went through the body of the masked man and planted itself in the rock.

"Come to me, Minato..."

Suddenly there was some croaking. The sound intensified as a multitude of crows appeared.

Naruto, who was seriously doing his homework, looked out the window and saw an impressive sight. The stone face representing his father was covered with countless crows, like a swarm of insects. Intrigued, he left the house. Others had done the same. The spectacle was striking, and quickly attracted the attention of the whole village.

In the Konoha Police building, Shisui had also spotted the sight.

"Itachi..."

The Sandaime, surrounded by his two advisers, watched the spectacle through a window.

“What is he doing? He must have a reason.”

Minato was shaking.

“Should we intervene?” A member of the Root asked his master.

“No, let’s wait and watch,” Danzo answered in a tone that didn't betray an ounce of worry.

What the... the masked man thought. Itachi, you little… The village's attention is going to be on us. I have to flee...

“Lord Hiashi, there are people up there!” A Hyuga suddenly exclaimed.

“Byakugan!”

Hiashi looked at the statue. He immediately spotted Minato in the middle of an impressive number of crows.

"What the..."

Hiashi also saw the masked man disappearing.

“Don't forget my words, Minato...” The man said as he fled.

Minato fell to his knees. A crow then came to rest on his shoulder.
Minato didn't try to chase it away. The crow held out its head to put it in front of Minato's.
The latter examined the animal. A Sharingan was in its eyes.

Everything suddenly changed, like in an alternate world, in which each color became the opposite of its original. Only the crows seemed to have kept all their life. And among these crows, which flew in all directions, Minato spotted Itachi, hovering motionless among the countless birds.

"What do you intend to do, Yondaime Hokage?"

Minato looked Itachi straight in the eye.

“I…”

Tobi reappeared in Amegakure, where Pain and Konan were waiting for him.

“So?”

“I was interrupted.”

“Is it true that Kushina Uzumaki is dead?” Pain asked.

“It seems so.”

There was silence.

“Orochimaru…”

“You may not like him, Pain. But we must recognize that his help is invaluable.”

"Where is he anyway?" Konan asked.

“No idea.”

“Do you think he can leave us?”

“Surely not. With what he did to Kushina, it wouldn't be difficult for us to proclaim him Konoha's number one enemy. He can’t afford to face Konoha and the Akatsuki.”

"He could… That filthy snake is unpredictable.”

“It's true. But not right now. I promised him what he wants the most. Something he could never get on his own. He needs us.”

“What are you talking about?”

“The Power of the Uchiha.”

Minato got up and disappeared again. Hiashi, seeing him do this, immediately understood where he was going. With the Byakugan still activated, he turned his head.

Suddenly, under the astonished eyes of the Hyugas, Hiashi ran to the Konoha hospital.
He rushed straight to Kushina's room.

He found Minato kneeling in front of Kushina's body.

“Minato…”

Minato turned his head towards him.

Hiashi understood.

"Minato…" he called again, the Byakugan activated, staring at Kushina. “Do you remember the first time you thought you lost Kushina?”

Minato remembered. That time, Kushina had been abducted.

“I was able to put you on the right track with my Byakugan. I couldn't accompany you, being subject to the rules of my clan and not being able to leave the village without authorization... But I had put you on the way.”

Minato nodded, only half listening to his words.

“I think that I may be able to put you on a new track... Like that time, I think I found an interesting detail, that only my eyes are able to see.”

Minato frowned.

“Kushina's seal, which contains Kyubi, is coupled with a second seal, thanks to which you can use the Hiraishin to rescue her in case of danger.”

"Not this time..." Minato sighed.

“I’m not finished. If there are only two seals, what is this third, invisible one, in the form of concentric circles that I’m seeing with my eyes?”

Hiruzen, surrounded by his two advisers entered the room. The advisers seemed out of breath as if they had run to join the Sandaime.

“A seal?” Hiruzen wondered. “So Kushina wouldn't be…”

“No hasty conclusion,” Hiashi said calmly.

The door opened again. More people entered. It was the Uchihas led by Shisui. Neither Hiruzen nor his advisers turned around when the Konoha Police force entered. They didn't seem surprised at their arrival.

“We'll soon find out,” Shisui said calmly, stepping confidently toward Kushina's body.

He activated his Mangekyo Sharingan. Hiashi frowned. Everyone remained silent.

"Can you open Kushina's eyes?" Shisui asked Minato.

The latter complied immediately, but with extreme gentleness.

Hiruzen stepped forward and put a hand on Shisui's shoulder.

"Be careful, Shisui..."

Shisui turned around and gave the old man a confident smile. He turned his head towards Kushina, thus finding himself facing Hiashi and Minato, on the other side of the bed. He winked at the Yondaime. He then put both his hands on Kushina's belly and looked into her eyes.

He found his consciousness in Kushina’s. Shisui walked in darkness.
He saw, above him, an imposing sphere containing liquid chakra in the air. The chakra was in the form of the Fox Demon. It was suspended via enormous chakra chains.

“The Kyubi…”

Was he conscious? He was not moving. Only the faint rattle of his breathing betrayed a flame of life.

Suddenly, Shisui spotted a silhouette stretched out on the ground. Its red hair reflected the light emitted by the chakra which flowed from the gigantic ball of energy imprisoning the Nine-Tails.

Shisui squatted down.

“Kushina... Kushina, can you hear me?”

There was a shadow. A terrifying shadow. A shadow that obscured even the darkness of this dimension. A shadow that even Shisui's mighty eyes couldn't fight… What was that shadow?
Shisui froze, and his consciousness was ejected out.

In the hospital, the young Uchiha suddenly collapsed. Minato, in a quick movement, caught him in his fall along with the Sandaime. The Uchiha clan members seemed panicked by the clan leader's failure.

Minato and Hiruzen looked at each other. Shisui, the Genjutsu expert and one of Konoha's most powerful shinobi, had never shown any weakness so far. Even facing Pain, Shisui had not even deigned to use his full abilities, considering his enemy too weak. And yet, as confident as he was here, he had lost.

“Should we take him to a hospital room?” A young Uchiha asked.

"No," Shisui whispered, getting up with difficulty, helped by Minato and Hiruzen.

“What happened?” Minato promptly asked.

“I...”

Shisui opened his mouth to continue, but no sound came out. He didn't seem to want to talk anymore. It was as if his very will was shackled, like a Genjutsu that made him believe he didn't want to continue after all. Minato had seen that before. He immediately turned to Hiashi.

“Your Byakugan!”

The latter complied without asking questions and stared at Shisui with his particular white eye.
He turned to Minato and nodded affirmatively. No one else seemed to have understood.

Another group of people came to the room; it was three individuals. Minato identified two Root members with, in the middle, Danzo Shimura.

“What a bad time to come out of the shadows, Danzo…” Minato whispered, in a tone where the threat was almost palpable.

Nobody seemed to understand anything, except Hiashi, who took a step forward to be at Minato's side.

"Calm down, Minato," he whispered. “Do not jump to conclusions.”

Danzo's lips moved almost imperceptibly, and he smiled. A split second later, the cold metal of the kunai Minato was holding brushed those same lips, which quivered slightly at its touch. Minato had crossed the room and joined Danzo without anyone being able to make the slightest gesture, except Hiashi. He had anticipated his comrade’s reaction but had raised his arm too late to prevent Minato from performing his Body Flicker Technique.

“What is happening here?” Hiruzen asked, obviously upset by the scene.

“Sandaime Hokage, I believe that Danzo has some responsibility in Kushina’s current state.”.

Hiruzen opened his eyes wide. Shisui gasped in surprise, and the Uchiha frowned. Only Hiashi didn't seem surprised.

“That's a very serious accusation, Minato,” Koharu whispered.

“Do you have proof of what you are saying?” Homura asked.

Minato stared at the two advisers without moving his kunai. Danzo's two henchmen did not move, aware that they would risk their lives and that of their master.

“Shisui Uchiha was marked with a seal preventing him from revealing what he saw.”

Everyone turned to Shisui.

“No need to ask him, he won't be able to tell you anything. But Hiashi spotted it with his Byakugan.”

“Indeed,” Hiashi admitted. “This is a seal invisible to the normal eye, possibly even a Sharingan, just like the one I spotted on Kushina's belly.”

“This type of seal is the specialty of the Root. Each member of the Root has similar seals on their tongue.”

"That's right," Danzo whispered. “We use this type of seal to prevent sensitive information to fall into enemies’ hands.”

Minato frowned.

“However, I have no idea what could make them invisible.”

“Lies,” Minato said. “Danzo has threatened my wife and son in the past. That's a lot of coincidences…”

There was a heavy silence, which Hiruzen was the first to break.

"That's enough, Minato.”

Minato stared at him.

“These accusations make no sense!” Koharu blurted out.

"And you're threatening a high representative of Konoha," Homura continued.

“Minato, lower your kunai,” Hiruzen said.

Minato stayed a few seconds in this position, under the astonished gaze of Shisui and Hiashi. A few ANBU members, coming from the hallway, approached. Minato lowered his kunai.

“Minato,” Homura continued, still confused by the Yondaime's reaction. “We wanted to talk to you, but you never came. Lately, you have abandoned your function as Hokage, leaving Hiruzen and ourselves to do your job.”

“You made a mistake by letting Orochimaru slip away,” Koharu added.

Hiruzen looked away, aware that he had made the same mistake a few years earlier.

“Your case has gotten much worse,” Homura continued, “and we can't ignore all your actions because of your personal situation.”

“At the beginning, we were just thinking of temporarily suspending you from your function as Hokage, to give you a break, but you've gone too far,” Koharu said.

The Uchihas approached Minato, while Koharu continued his speech.

“In agreement with the Daimyo of the Land of Fire and the Konoha Police Force, we are suspending you from your functions. Your recent action only comforted us in our decision.”

Hiashi frowned. Hiruzen took a step forward and face Minato, looking extremely gloomy.

“Minato Namikaze, you are under arrest.”
