I burst into the building and take a quick glance at the situation: I'm in the back room, with cleaning equipment scattered around, some rags and a couple of overturned crates. Two of my three opponents have passed into the next world and are slowly cooling off, while the third is screaming at the top of his lungs, holding his bloody hands to his leg from knee to groin. I don't waste time on him, and simply walk past him: he'll be killed without me.

And I must move on.

Without stopping, I cross the room and kick the door from my foot. I can see the stairs leading up to the second floor. A room - adjoining it is a long corridor with several doors. There were no enemies in the immediate vicinity, but they could hear us anyway - with all that "knocking on the door" - so time should be spent as rationally as possible.

Using the language of the dark elves, which, by the way, differs markedly from Earth's, I distribute the directions in which the three elves immediately move out. Six of them slipped up the stairs, and three more went to the left, deep into the first floor.

That left Delva and Chloe and me, our way to the hottest spot, the hallway in front of the front door. From there comes the most heat, which means there are a lot of targets.

In the room closest to us, I spotted three. And from their movements, I can tell they're in it together, which is good for us.

'Three targets to the right," - I informed my partners of my discovery and kicked the lock open and unlocked the door. What I saw made me stammer for a second, so absurd was the picture.

Two idiots, instead of fighting, decided to have one last laugh. While one held the young maid down with his hands behind her back and his palm over her mouth, the other tore at her clothes. The crackling sound of breaking wood distracted all three of them from this extraordinarily fascinating activity. The look on the girl's face was frightened and hunted, while the two rapists were so fucked up that it seemed unnatural.

"They're drugged!" - I cursed mentally, counting the signs of a drug trip for a brief moment: dilated pupils, glazed eyes, swollen veins, and profuse sweating. It looked like they'd been drugged with something fun, and the flight of frightened minds had pulled them into a shag right in the middle of the fight.

"Grrr!!!" - I didn't even have to do anything. The purple-haired pixie burst into the room like a whirlwind, decapitating the dopers in two movements.

"Stay here," - she tossed to her victim, who nodded convulsively and scurried off to the corner. She was lucky today.

Leaving her behind, we continued on our way. Several people had already jumped out of the hall toward us. Again I noted the unnaturalness of their movements. Excessively twitchy, wobbly, zombie-like.

[Are they filming Breaking Bad, or what?]

Warned by the girls, I pull out my gun and point it at the turn from behind which the enemies are about to appear. Chloe imitates me and draws her shotgun, while Delva takes her sword tighter. A second later, four enemies piled up from around the corner. Their eyes were shrouded in madness, and the purple foam at their mouths suggested the use of some pretty nasty chemicals they'd drugged people full of.

Without talking, the blonde and I opened fire. The first two bullets that hit the chest of the stoner running ahead didn't even slow him down.

[More like Resident Evil,] - followed an impassioned comment from my skull-mate.

[More like Twenty-Eight Days Later,] - I noted mechanically, shifting the scope to my head and squeezing the trigger.

Bang! Bang!

Two fall with their brains blown out.

The other two get shot to the top of their heads. Chloe spares no ammunition.

After glancing over at the girls and meeting the same mildly disgusted looks, we move on, but as we step over the seemingly breathless bodies, one of them abruptly grabs the blonde's leg. She screamed in surprise and kicked the creep in the jaw with the other leg. There was a crunching sound of a dislocated joint and crunching of bones breaking, followed by the thud of her forehead hitting the floor.

Whether he survived this time, no one was checking; Delva had decapitated all four of them-even the ones who had big holes in the back of their heads from my shots.

"This is some sick shit," - I muttered to myself, stepping forward and leaving the problematic corpses behind.

"Yeah..."

"Uh-huh..."

The companions were in agreement with me.

[Carrier, I strongly advise against taking dubious substances. It's... fraught.] - And even Martha was impressed, since she decided to show a kind of concern.

[Don't worry, I won't,] - I joke back, - [it's not like I'm chinese cultivator.]

[What does farm machine have to do with it?]

[I'll tell you later.]
