Chapter 1

The Girl in The Forest

Warm.

It's the first feeling I noticed. What quickly followed was an itch around my legs.

I groggily opened my eyes.

An expanse of green presented itself to me. A thick series of foliage and the sound of chirping birds echoed around the forest.

I was sleeping in a patch of grass. It turns out to be the culprit for the itch.

I block the sunlight with my left hand. The cause of the heat was discovered.

I sat up, confused.

Where am I?

Just as I marveled at the beautiful nature, anxiety crept up to me.

How long was I out here? Judging by the creases in my dress, longer than an hour for sure.

They must be worried.

My stomach dropped.

Who would be worried?

I try to dig my memories but nothing came up.

I need to return home.

Where is my home?

Do I have a home?

A bubbling headache surfaced at the pop up of many questions.

At the corner of my vision, I spot a body of water. It was formed by a recent rain, it was a puddle of water but it had a clear appearance.

"Why can't I remember anything?" I mutter in frustration while looking at my face.

I knelt down and gripped the grass around the water as I used the water as a makeshift mirror.

"Who...who am I?" I asked aloud as I looked back at the girl with golden hair that ended in waves and a pair of blue eyes.

Despite the blank state of my mind, I didn't feel any fear. The forest felt oddly peaceful.

A gut feeling grew in me ever since I woke up. It was big enough to describe.

It was saying 'that nothing in this forest would harm me.'

For that, I was grateful. But the hunger striked and so for now, I went on a quest to find food to feed myself.

As I trekked the uneven path made by infrequent travels of what seems to be animal prints, I spotted a deer.

It soon took off running when I made a crisp sound by crunching the dead figs underneath me.

A deer would be impossible. I neither have the tools nor the skill.

I also had a feeling that eating the meat of the deer wouldn't alleviate my hunger.

But the fruits in this unmanned place will.

Odd.

I found a thick vine of what seems to be purple spheres fruit, in its edge is a glittering shade of pink.

It was too colorful to not be included under the poisonous category.

But like a knowledge built in my head since the start of time, I knew that I could eat the fruit.

It is edible. It will pass of my hunger without any unsavory effects.

Too focused on solving my appetite, I didn't bother thinking why I had random knowledge about the place.

The fruit easily left the stem as I plucked it, giving off a slightly sour scent.
