The days that followed seemed to be the best days of Laia's life.

Brie was the first to know.

Her best friend knowing didn't really shock Laia very much as Brie always had the knack to immediately realize things, especially things that were related to Laia or Samuel, for the matter.

However, she didn't make Laia spare any single detail of what happened. After learning pretty much everything from her friend, Brie almost squealed out loud in the middle of the library and almost ended up getting kicked out of the library by the librarian who for some reason always disliked Brie's guts since they were freshmen.

Okay, the reason may be or may be not because of how often she would catch Brie and Jake kissing in the back of bookshelves. Laia doesn't even want to get started on how the poor librarian caught the two almost doing the deed one time on one of the tables on the back one day when the two didn't know that the librarian doesn't really leave the library unless everyone else is gone.

"You know she hates your guts," Laia reprimands her friend with a flick to her forehead. Samuel laughs on her side which earns him a glare from Laia. "Don't laugh, you're making Brie here think that what she's doing is funny and not something that needs change,"

She flicks the boy's forehead as well after reprimanding her which earned them curious and envious looks from the students around them who were either studying for the upcoming exams or just hanging out for the strong WiFi connection.

Brie propped her chin above her fists as she sighed dreamily, looking at her friends. "You two are so cute,"

"You think it's cute that she flicked me in the forehead for laughing?" Samuel dramatically wails. His dramatic antics don't escape the librarian, who once again shushes them loudly. "Ah, that woman is such a bore,"

Laia turned to him. "You do realize that's her job, right? To make sure that everyone inside the library studies or reads in silence unlike what the two of you are doing?"

Brie pouts. "But I want to learn more about how you guys kissed--"

"Shush!" Laia anxiously checked their surroundings and glared at her friend who sheepishly grins. "Don't say it out loud, idiot,"

"Why? Aren't you together already, though?"

"Ouch," Samuel feigned being shot in the heart. "Are we in a secret relationship now?"

Laia rolled her eyes at how her companions were acting like children. She flicked them both on their foreheads again before stealing a quick kiss from Samuel's lips when everyone temporarily turned to the bell that just rang.

Well, everyone except Brie who started to squeal loudly which earned them another glare from the librarian who probably wanted them to just leave.

"Let's just go,"

Laia pulled Brie and Samuel with her towards the exit. She knew she was doing the librarian a favor as she heard the old lady sigh in relief as they passed her.

"Where are we going?!" Brie shrieked once they were outside in the hallways.

Samuel didn't seem to be very concerned of their lack of destination and was just staring at his (girlfriend's?) lips. "Can I get another kiss again? Nobody else is around--"

Laia smacks him in the head. "Let's just go to the cafeteria, maybe Vivi and the rest are there,"

"Are we going to tell them--"

"Depends," The girl shrugged nonchalantly but she was nervous about revealing it to their friends. "Jake already knows, does he?"

Samuel grins sheepishly before pressing a chaste kiss on the girl's cheeks as his form of apology. "He called and I was unable to keep it a secret,"

Laia rolled her eyes at her (boyfriend?) but doesn't bother reprimanding him. It's not like their friends wouldn't end up knowing either way. "It's fine, don't worry about it,"

Brie suddenly cleared her throat when the two once again shared another moment. "Uhm, I'n still here?"

"Don't worry, you'll get to flirt with Jake once we arrive at the cafeteria," Samuel teases her with a grin which got him a smack from the long-haired girl. "Laia, she hit me in the head!"

Laia stifled a laugh as she shook her head in amusement at how childish the boy was acting in front of her. "You're like a child,"

"I'm your baby," He wiggled his eyebrows at her.

"You are disgusting," Laia pushes him away once he got too close as she felt like he was acting way too cringy. "Cringe, Laurie,"

"What? We're back to using surnames as a way to refer to one another?"

"If you continue acting like a cringey fool then yes,"

"But you adore me,"

She turns to him with a disgusted look. "If you say that once more I will absolutely forget everything that happened yesterday,"

"Including the entirety of my speech?"

"Definitely the entirety of your speech,"

"Guys, I'm still here,"

The two burst into laughter at Brie's words. After a few more minutes of walking and bantering (with Brie complaining and interjecting almost always) the three had finally reached the cafeteria on where Jake and Vivi were indeed present.

"Jake!" Brie ran towards her boyfriend, jumped, and wrapped her legs around his waist. "Ah, you caught me!"

Jake gently lets her down back on the ground and gives her a serious look. "What did I say about jumping towards me out of nowhere?"

"I was excited?" Brie sheepishly reasons.

Vivi laughs from the table that she had occuppied with Jake. "You guys are acting like the protagonists of those chickflicks that I happen to adore, honestly,"

"Look! Vivi likes my antics!"

Jake gestured for the girl to settle on one of the chairs and changed the topic. "What do you want to eat?"

"A pizza?" The long-haired girl turned to both Laia and Samuel whom settled on the chairs beside hers. "How about you, lovebirds?"

Laia glared at Brie when Vivi's mouth went agape. "Lovebirds?"

Brie nodded enthusiastically as if she didn't just reveal a supposed secret or something that Laia was supposed to reveal not her. "Yeah, they're together,"

Vivi reached for Laia's hands and excitedly squeals. "Since when?!"

Samuel answered for Laia who was still overwhelmed by all the attention that was suddenly on her. "Yesterday,"

"Who confessed first?" Vivi asks.

"Me," The boy pointed at himself.

Laia couldn't restrain a smile when she noticed how the boy's ears reddened even if he seemed confident in front of Vivi and the others. "Yeah, he did,"

The two shared a look before bursting into laughter.

Vivi sighed dreamily. "You two are both idiots that deserve each other,"

Jake laughs. "And yet their confession ended up late in our schedule,"

Laia raised an eyebrow. "On your schedule?"

"We might or might not have had a bet on when will you guys confess your feelings for one another," Vivi sheepishly smiles. "Nothing serious though, we didn't even bet money,"

"What will the winner of the bet receive then?"

"Uh," Jake and Vivi exchanged sheepish glances. "The winner gets a ticket to the amusement park that just opened last month,"

"I thought no money?" It was Samuel's turn to look at them with skepticism. Laia inwardly sighed in relief when the boy didn't seem to be very amused of the bet their friends made as well.

She actually thought he will find it funny at first. Fortunately, he didn't.

"Shane was supposed to join us in betting," Jake explains. "And then she backed out so instead of money being the reward for the winner, she offered the reward to be the ticket to the amusement park instead,"

Ah. At least someone from her group of friends doesn't always go for money to be the reward.

"I'm hungry," Brie complains after a few minutes of awkward silence due to what Jake just revealed. "Let's buy the food already Jakey,"

Jake turned to his girlfriend with a look of gratitude for pulling him out of the awkward situation. "Yeah, let's go,"

The two left.

Laia glanced at Vivi who tried to distract herself by scrolling through her phone. She elbowed Samuel who looks at her with a puzzled look. "What?"

"Start a conversation," She mouths and then subtly gestures to Vivi. "You're good at it,"

"I don't want to?"

She narrowed her eyes at him and decided to start the conversation herself. "Viv?"

Vivi immediately placed her phone down and turned her entire attention to Laia. "Hmm?"

"When did you bet on us?"

The smile on Vivi's grin automatically vanished and was replaced by an anxious look on her face. "Uh,"

"You're never good at changing topics," Samuel chuckled but stared at Vivi as well with a look that demanded an answer. "Same question, though,"

Vivi bit her fingernail. "Last, last month? Uh, when you three with Jake were groupmates,"

Samuel clicked his tongue as he glanced at Jake who was still on a line to purchase their food. "He told you what happened?"

"Not everything," Vivi waved her hands frantically. "Just some details,"

"Details being?"

"Uh--"

"What did we miss?!" Brie placed the tray that she was holding in front of the three, effectively cutting off their conversation. "Any juicy gossip for me?"

Laia rolled her eyes subtly. "Nothing,"

Samuel reached out for a pizza slice. "Nothing since you came out of nowhere and ruined Viv's dialogue,"

Brie pouts. "You're mean!"

"Did he lie, though?" Laia flashes her friend a teasing smile.

Brie's eyes widened. "You're supposed to be on my side, Laia!"

Jake chuckles. "And yet, she's not,"

The rest of their break was full of laughter and occassional teasing. Even if Laia knew that she should still clear things up with Vivi and Jake regarding the whole betting scheme that they did, she kept it on the back of her mind.

She just wanted to feel happy and not think of other things for a little while, surrounded by the people she's comfortable with.

Beside the boy she likes and her left hand intertwined with his right below the table.

Laia wanted nothing else but for the moment to last forever.
