Chapter 25: 25 The First Level 10’s

Suddenly, a holographic message interrupted Enzo and Pepper’s conversation. 

Ding!

[World Announcement: Player: Predator has become the first player to clear the Tutorial Dungeon]

The announcement rang out five times just like the village announcement Pepper and Enzo activated earlier. 

The two immediately stopped once they heard the first ding and read the messages with wide eyes. 

“Damn…” Enzo mumbled. 

He didn’t really expect to beat every other player to the accomplishment, but after killing the Wild Boss he began to get his hopes up.

Enzo knew the player had to have reached level 10 in order to accomplish this feat because Rhea told the players in the introduction that they must reach that level to even challenge the dungeon. 

“Predator must have killed a wild boss as well.” Pepper said. 

“Mhm.”

They then resumed running to the gates of the village so they could log out in a safe place before their time was up.

“Alright, don’t forget to text me Pepper.” Enzo said.

“Okay, I wi-”

Ding!

[World Announcement: Players: Queen, Parcival, and No Risk No Reward have become the second, third, and fourth players to clear the tutorial dungeon.]

The announcement rang out five times. 

However, before Enzo and Pepper could even comment on it, another one came. 

Ding!

[World Announcement: Players: Prometheus, Hephaestus, and Ivar have become the fifth, sixth, and seventh players to clear the Tutorial Dungeon]

“Tha-That’s…”
“Huh?” Pepper turned to Enzo. 

Enzo’s eyes were so wide they almost popped out of his sockets. 

“What is it?” Pepper asked him.
“The first person, Prometheus, that’s my…”
“Your what?”
“That’s my roommate!”
“Roommate??”
“Yeah! My roommate Ivan and I chose matching in-game names. We decided on going with names of the Greek titans. I am Atlas, while he is Prometheus.”
Ivan was a whole level behind Enzo when they last logged off, so this announcement was very surprising to him. 

Not only did Ivan overcome the one level deficit, but even surpassed him by a level. 

Ivan may be his best friend, but this just caused his desire to reach level 10 and complete the dungeon much more. 

Enzo’s competitiveness knows no bounds, but he doesn’t feel bad about it at all because Ivan would feel the same way if the roles were reversed.

After the announcement finished for the last time, Enzo and Pepper finally logged out of the game with a minute left on their timers. 

Many other players were logging out at the same time in front of the gates as well. 

All of the bronze headgear players already exited the game a few hours ago, so this was only the silver headgear players. 

Enzo disappeared into particles before feeling his eyes abruptly open. 

He pressed the button over his ear and the face mask lifted up. 

Enzo quickly slid the headgear off of his head and moved to get up from the bed. 

‘Almost forgot.’

This time, he decided to take it slow. He carefully put his feet on the ground then put one foot in front of the other slowly. 

It took a full minute just for Enzo to put the headgear on the charger that was plugged into the wall opposite his bead. 

He then started moving to Ivan’s room. 

Enzo opened the door to see his roommate slipping off his own headgear. 

“Ivan! How?!”

“Hahahahaha, man do I have a story to tell you.”

“Haha. Congratulations bro, I’m proud of you.”

Enzo helped Ivan up and practically carried him to the living room couch because Ivan still hadn’t gotten used to his real body just yet. 

Enzo then went back to plug his friends headgear in before running back to the living room to sit down. 

For the next two hours all Ivan and Enzo did was fill their stomachs and recount their stories of today's events. 

Ivan told Enzo about how he was finally able to form a party of his own. He partied up with a Monster Slayer and a Berserker. They were able to take down a Wild Boss together and also found the quest in their village that would give them the favor tokens. 

Enzo was very surprised when he learned about this. He fully expected to have to tell Ivan about how he received his bloodline quest. 

He still told Ivan all about it, but didn’t need to do so in a teaching manner. 

Ivan received a vampire bloodline quest for a clan called the Varney clan. 

Another surprising thing is that one of his party members decided to take on a vampire bloodline quest as well. He received one for a clan called the Brooks clan. 

“Wait, I think we should all party up once Juliet and I leave the tutorial village. Since we are all connected in a sense, we could help each other complete the requirements for the quest.” Enzo suggested. 

“Great idea! I’ll tell Ivar about you and your friend. He’s kind of crazy, but I think he would love to have more members in our party.”
“Cool. What Inheritance did your other party member decide to chase?”
“Hephaestus? He is going for the Dwarf species. Rhea told us that there is only one bloodline option for the dwarves though, so he will have to work extra hard.”
“Mmm. Try to keep good relations with him, we might need the help of dwarves one day. In most games they tend to be good at things like smithing.”
“Yeah, I was thinking the same. I won't be fake towards him, but if he wants to continue being friends then I will do so as well.” Ivan responded. 

He wasn’t going to act like a person's friend just to get something out of them. He would rather become real friends, then buy their services from them. 

“Okay, good.” Enzo said. 

Ivan then told Enzo about how they beat the Tutorial Dungeon so that he and Pepper might have an easier time during their first run.
