Chapter 3: Chapter 2 – Small Consequences

A loud buzz rang through a small room full of employees in black suits. One of them shouted

“Mr. Thomas Paine has rang in for a nap”

An angry curse fills the room saying

“That man only does one case a day then he falls asleep. He doesn’t even bother phoning the court.”

 

The curse was countered by

“But he has never failed a case and he works both as a part time lawyer and as a prosecutor full time and he has a useful superpower. He has a little of everything”

The person who said the curse earlier was revealed to be a fifty year old man with a magnificent gray beard and hair. His left arm instead of a normal arm was a large white mass with his right arm being extremely muscular for his age. This man was the chief prosecutor and use to be a hero back in his glory days

The man sighed as he heard a young woman say

“Senor Prosecutor William Mal please come to the front a lawyer wants to meet with you”

William already knew what the call was for. It was to meet the lawyer of the case Thomas had just accepted, the lawyers office and prosecution office strived to finish cases a fast as possible due to their frequency, William then looked at a security camera to see Thomas sleeping with a small pile of files acting like a pillow. William hated that man's work ethic but he couldn’t deny his talent. William grabbed a small pack of empty files as he walked to the front to meet the poor lawyer who had to go against the best prosecutor in the business. William then by complete accident when walking through a rather tight door had his entire left arm phase through the wall.
After finishing a rather quick walk he opened a door to a wide spacious waiting room. He quickly observed the entire room to see a man standing alone in front of the line to a large desk, the man in the desk happily smiled and waved towards William. William sighed as the younger lawyer walked towards William and said

“Oh um Mr. Sir William i-I’ve uh been a big fan.. I mean uh I am here to meet with my prosecutor for the case with Mr. Inferno Man”

William use to be one of the most popular heroes so he was use to the recognition, he sighed and said

“The prosecutor for the Inferno Man case is over there”

William then pointed into a far corner with closed blinds blocking the window to see them , it had a small sign saying

“Closed till further notice”

The young lawyer seems surprised not haven noticed the small empty line in the corner. But it didn’t stop the young lawyer as he bounded over and rattled the blinds. He rattled once , then twice, then after three attempts the lawyer picked up the blinds only to see a young man with messy blond bed hair sleeping. This slightly aggravated the young lawyer seeing as how lacklusterly his prosecutor was acting on a case on superheroes. Cases like these were usually only handled by the top lawyers and prosecutors in the city, much less two people under thirty. The young lawyer breathed in before shaking the prosecutor awake, the young lawyer then said

 

“I am Eagle Whong and I'm here to act as a lawyer for your case”

The prosecutor then work up and gave a lazy frown before saying

“Prosecutor Thomas Pain acting as prosecutor for the inferno man case”

Eagle smiled as he walked away happy to meet his opponent even if he was lazy , he smiled as he walked out the door only to remember something extremely important. The world's best prosecutor and even part time lawyer for superheroes was also called Thomas paine. Eagle thought about running back inside but he threw that thought aside thinking about how lazy the prosecutor he met was. He happily skipped away to the lawyer office to take more cases only to run into the man of the hour, Inferno Man
