Chapter 7: Chapter 6 – A Normal Morning

Inferno Man was sitting on his porch, watch on his wrist. He was waiting exactly for noon as he was supposed to be tried for the use of excessive force and destruction of property. He angrily sighed as he looked into his black suitcase and took out a pack of cigarettes. He lit the cigarette with a snap of his finger as he looked at the sky while smoking, Inferno Man was always portrayed as an irrational and brash hero in the news because he always charged head first into danger with no plan in order to save civilians, But the incident would mess up his reputation thankfully the camera didn’t catch a video due to a malfunction but it still was terrible for him. After a little bribery that he wasn’t fond of being able to remove a single extremely incriminating photo of him but his pocket couldn’t do more. Suddenly Inferno Man heard a small ding , as he looked down his watch had hit noon. He stood up and stretched before going through every possible outcome he could think of in his mind. He sighed as he accepted the harsh truth that if he was found out he would need to try escaping. He sighed at the thought of government superheroes who were trained at young ages to be loyal dogs all attacking him but it was better than the worst outcome that not only would ruin his life but his families , his mentors and disciples , his fame and integrity and worst of all a life sentence in prison. Inferno Man stood up and stretched as he walked forward as he got to a clear area of no dirt and blasted the ground with flames, quickly he ascended before he flew towards the biggest court house in his city , Prodosia. Inferno Man thought it was quite pretentious of a courthouse being named after the city it resides in and has the same name but it didn’t matter as he landed in front of the court house only to see three people looming over him. The top prosecutor William Mal , The Cities best superhero lawyer and prosecutor having never lost a case Thomas Pain and finally his lawyer, a newbie in superhero court cases named Eagle Whong. After looking at his enemies versus his defense Inferno Man debated trying to flee just then but kept his cool and walked towards the building trying to start small talk. He said

“Good Morning Mr. Eagle , I’m Jackal Yheet , you can call me Inferno Man.”

Eagle happily responded with a casual greeting before saying

“I am a big fan Mr. Inferno but sadly today is a serious day for both of us so let us keep this 

exchange short”
Jackal understood, especially seeing how still Eagle was, he was definitely new to his job. Jackal then looked at his prosecutor, Thomas as he said.

“Good morning Mr. Thomas I have heard you have a flawless record so it is quite intimidating to be against you.”

 

Thomas chuckles as he said

Jackal smiled but in his head he was panicking at Thomas casually taunting him, had he figured out what was in the case? Did he know who those thugs worked for? Did he figure out that…? But before Jackal could finish thinking Thomas tapped him on the shoulder to regain his senses. Jackal shook his head as he said to William

“Hello Mr. William I heard you were a former super hero”

William stood still in a daze but after Jackal repeated the question William shook his head and confusedly said

“Oh um yeah in the past”

 

Jackal decided to not ask any more questions as he walked inside while the court case began.
