"Oh" Wei yan visibly deflated, and Wei Luo looked at this pair of twelve year olds.

Without saying anything to acknowledge Wei yun's words, he looked back at Wei yan and patted him on the shoulder. "It's alright. It doesn't matter if you couldn't get perfect marks, this is still a great result. You're an intelligent kid. Why, at your age, I was barely making seventy."

"..........." Wei yan didn't know if he should laugh or cry.

"Gege, you went to university at seven years old." 'And came out with first class too'.

"Ah... Right." Wei Luo blanked out for a second. He was actually talking about his previous life, but couldn't let the kid know that he'd been cheating with his mature brain from birth.

"It doesn't matter. Not everyone can be a genius like me"

'...Not even me.' He thought, before quickly switching the gear of topic.

"So, what placement were you in?"

"Second."

"Second? That's even better than I thought. There's really nothing to be sad about then." Wei luo tried to console the kid who already looked like he was sulking.

In the whole family, he had the closest relationship with Zhong wei and Wei yan. However, although Zhong wei's was planned for a reason, Wei yan's case seemed to be natural. Just like the way it was in the novel.

To recap, Wei luo transmigrated into a novel, about a man who transmigrated into a novel. In other words, there were two versions of the novel world he was dealing with. The first version is the one the film emperor Li wei read, before transmigrating into a character also named Li wei. The second version is the one Wei luo read about Li wei's transmigration into the novel world.

The novel Li wei read was called [All the bosses are chasing me], and it was about the protagonist Sang yun.

The novel Wei luo read was called [Film Emperor can be a little crying bag], and it was about the protagonist Li wei.

In FECBALCB, after the true child came into the family, he couldn't outshine Li wei, both in the eyes of his parents and the brothers. They held less regard for him than Li wei in their hearts, and made no restraint in showing it. Their parents showed care for Li wei more, Zhong wei had ignored him like air, Cheng wei had picked fights with him over little things, and the twins had treated him with disdain and mockery filled tones.

Although, the last one was not exactly like that later. Infact, the only one that had been treating the true Wei luo with disdain among the twins was Wei yun. Wei yan was practically forced to tag along without interruptions.

In the novel, whenever an encounter had befallen the three, it was usually Wei yun and Wei luo who had the clashes. Later in the novel, there was even a time Wei yan began to be on Wei luo's side- almost going against the family for his sake. However, since Wei luo was a villain in the novel, it could only be that Wei yan was being tricked and manipulated to the wrong side.

Well, technically, Wei luo at that time was actually a bad guy so it was true.

But Wei yan had to see Wei luo's two-timing and viciousness with his own eyes, before reluctantly giving up on defending him after vehemently trying and failing to discourage him from his ways. When he was reaching his bad end, no one gave him a chance to meet Wei yan, for fear that he would successfully still pull him to his side again.

If he could or not, no one knew till the end.

Maybe that was why the Wei luo now, felt more favour towards Wei yan than others. Even though the original Wei luo was actually a bad person, Wei yan still held a good spot for him. It was like having a good loyal follower.

Perhaps he was reminded of his past life underlings. Even if he did bad things, those guys still followed behind him- some even making sacrifices when it came to it.

Although, ...They ...Probably didn't have a choice- but that's not the focus of this narrative.

"But Wei yun said second winner is first loser." Wei yan took the paper from his hand and began to fold it into his bag.

"Well, atleast you're still first in the chart with everyone else. He's all alone where he is." Wei luo patted the boy's head and watched him smile. Seems his cheering up operation was a success, and he didn't even break persona or ooc. From the corner of his eyes, he saw Wei yun walk up the stairs with an unreadable expression on his face.

"Well, you should go freshen up too. Also, Li wei's in the pool room. You guys can go to him when you're done."

"Ah? I wanted to play video games with you later."

Wei luo gave him a glance as they both went up together "Not tired of losing yet?"

"Losing is only a stone on the path to victory. Do you stop a whole journey if you trip on a stone?"

"Well, if you trip on a stone at the top of mount everest, yes. Your journey will end."

"Gege! ...That doesn't even make sense."

"Sounds Illogical doesn't it? Been there. But such is life kid. This one atleast."

After parting ways with Wei luo, Wei yan made his way to his room. The house had a four storey structure, in other words, a ground floor and four other floors on top. The first storey held the gym, practice studios and other miscellaneous spaces they needed, the second storey was where Li wei and the other's rooms were, the thrud was where Zhong wei and Wei luo stayed, the top was where the parents slept. Now this didn't mean those were the only rooms on those floors, those were just the only occupied ones.

Wei yan and Wei yun's room is twice the size of one room; maybe they had broken a wall between two, to combine them as one. So they, being the kids as they were, picked the sides they wanted and used it however they wished.

When Wei yan walked into the room, he noticed Wei yun turn to face him but didn't give it much thought. He headed to the bathroom and came out a few minutes later looking refreshed. His curly, now wet hair dripped down his cute face, before he draped a towel over his head.

"...Why are you still staring at me? Are you possessed or something?" Wei yan laughed as he looked on at Wei yun, who just turned back to his homework.

"How are you so close to that guy anyway?" He murmured, though loud enough for the other to hear.

"It's been a month. Of course we'd get closer. He's close with brother Zhong wei too, isn't he? Father isn't regularly at home so it's understandable, but I think he's pretty close with mother too." Wei yan answered innocently while he went about what he was doing.

"Why would you even be so close to him though, don't you know he-" Wei yun paused his words, and a slight look of bewilderment flashed on his face.

"He what? What, are you going to say he's trying to chase Li wei out again?"

Actually, that was what he wanted to say. But Wei yun paused because he knew that didn't seem to be the truth.

So why did he think like that all of a sudden?

"Haah... Wei yun, gege hasn't even had much interaction with him. Infact, I think he's still opening up, since he hasn't talked much with brother Cheng wei either."

After getting dressed, he headed out the door.

"Where are you going?" Wei yun asked.

"Oh. Gege and I are going to play video games. Heh, he usually wins, but I have a trump card up my sleeve this time." Wei yan smirked, before walking off triumphantly like he'd already won.

Wei yun, after watching him leave, turned back to his table and bit his lips. A certain feeling surged in his heart.

"They sure are close".

The feeling was like seeing a cat by the road you didn't like, turning into a lion you couldn't bully, before you even reached it. This lion was twice your size and majestic, but instead of paying you any attention, it ignored you, allowed your friend or brother to get close and even played with them.

Was it jealousy? Was it regret? Was it unwillingness? Something else? Perhaps a mixture of all?

"Tch. Whatever" Wei yun threw things to the back of his mind to continue his work. He felt his relationship with Wei luo didn't matter to him in the slightest.
