As they walked home, Wei Luo felt the hand around his tighten and he turned his head to look at her. He looked away soon after, and sighed in his heart.

No way was he going to deal with whatever was about to happen when they reached the house.

As expected, the moment they entered, a loud shout was heard as a glass cup shot at them. The woman instinctively moved to the side, causing the cup to smash into the wall and the liquid inside dripped down. The hold on Wei Luo's hand grew and the fingers holding it trembled.

Soon enough, the raging man reached them and to the woman's surprise, the boy she had expected to try to stand up for her as usual, stood without any reaction.

She still had a little hope that since their hands were together, she could redirect the anger. But who would have thought that the man would forcefully separate their hands, and begin to beat only her instead! Painful wails left her mouth and her eyes frantically looked to the child as if to invoke his sympathy.

She watched the boy look at her with eyes of indifference before leisurely taking off his socks and school jacket - as if what was currently happening, had nothing to do with him in the slightest.

He didn't even glance at her as he shoved his hand into his trousers pockets and walked off into his room. Her wails and groans were loud, but the boy had no response at all.

"Heh. Enjoy your beatings you old witch." He sneered while walking to his small table and chair to do his homework.

She always did this whenever the man was beating her. As a small child who didn't know much about anything, the little child always wanted to protect his mother whenever the father's hands were being laid on her. This would incur the beatings that was supposed to be given to her, on the little boy instead.

She took advantage of this and began to use him to draw ammo. Afterall, he wasn't her son so why should she care?

Like this, the boy was foolishly beaten everytime while she watched from the side. Such a small child, forced to go through all that. Before the age of four.

Wei Luo had also experienced the beatings for a year while he collected evidence. Those beatings weren't light. His disgust for the woman grew as he knew that she knew, how hard and bad it was, yet left the 2 ‐ 5 year old boy to collect it all.

Such consciencelessness was below the line, even for this underground mafia boss.

He'd threatened the man now so he won't ever make a move on him - meaning that all the anger at him, plus the anger he already had, would all be channeled on her. 'Take it as paying with interest' He thought as he scribbled down on the neat notes.

After completing his homework, he brought out the paper folder the principal had given him during their meeting. His little hands tore off the top and brought out the neat stack of paper from inside. Little phoenix eyes read the words from tops to bottoms before the head nodded in satisfaction. With these documents, going abroad to study in the university at the age of seven was sure fire.

He wanted to wait till he was in his last year before beginning to apply, he didn't expect the government to have him in mind for this coming scholarship program. He hadn't even planned to go to a university abroad - he would maybe have gone to the best school here instead. But since the offer was given, there was no reason to refuse.

The school they had put in for him abroad could even be likened to the same category as Harvard, Cambridge and Oxford from his world.

"Oho at this point the world should just make me the protagonist instead haha. I'll be a walking golden thigh soon. Did the big bosses go to university at seven years old?"

"One of them went at thirteen, but I'd have graduated by then heh. After that... Hooh what's a relatively easy job that doesn't require heavy work to do?"

Despite people's tearing persuasions, he still decided to go an art school and not science. He already studied medicine in his previous life and came out with top class. He would have gone for that, but just thinking of the work he would go through as a doctor once again, made him subconsciously run away from all other science courses.

There's also a lot of money in art jobs that don't require as much work, so why should he make himself suffer so?

Maybe he should go into theatre art. But definitely not as an actor though, cause that might even be more work than others.

"Come to think of it, the book was entertainment circle themed wasn't it? Heh heheheh... eheheheheh" He laughed evily as an idea slowly made it's way into his mind. He wasn't the type that would say he wanted to escape the plot and run away, why should he run?

If he wasn't going to run, why not make future things more interesting?

'Well, future course and job has been decided.' He put both hands behind his head and leaned backwards while putting both legs on the table. That, was a wrong move as the already rickety chair immediately gave up the ghost and fell way.

"Ow! Hss!" He rolled on the ground while rubbing his throbbing elbow. "Fxck, that hurt" He stood up admist sniffles and walked over to the bed. After laying down, his thoughts naturally drifted to something else. 'I think I should get that guy to open an account for me. Maybe I could start some online jobs ar something like that. If I leave things to just them, I would likely not be able to spend as much as I want to by the time I enter the uni."

After thinking for a while, he drifted off to sleep. Sometimes, he still felt that all this was an illusion. one day he would just sleep and wake up, only to find out that everything was a dream.

But until that happens, he would use the illogicality of the world as much as he wants to, and play round for a while. This is the world of a novel and was created by someone in his world.

It's probably not even real.
