Slowly I opened my eyes.

Releasing a yawn shortly after I did so.

Once it was over I sat up.

But right after I did I immediately realized something was wrong, very wrong.

Because the place I am currently in is not the place I fell asleep.

It is completely different.

"Ok, what is happening here?" I asked myself.

Then once I did I realized my voice sounded different than usual as well.

It sounds younger.

'No seriously, what the fuck is going on?' I thought.

Because things aren't making any sense at all and that scares me.

Deciding to investigate I moved to get out of the bed I was in.

In doing so I discovered my limbs were much shorter. Looking at them after I stood up I discovered I had the limbs of a child.

This set off even more alarm bells in my head than were already ringing.

'Ok, time to find some answers.' I thought.

I started walking around the room, looking for any sort of clues that would help me understand my situation.

While doing so I eventually stumbled in front of a full body mirror situated right next to the closet.

The moment I did so I came to a stop and turned to look directly at it.

As I gazed at my reflection I had no idea who I was looking at.

Because the person staring back at me isn't me.

I am a 21 year-old college student named Alex. I have black hair and green eyes and stand at about 180 centimeters.

However the person I am currently looking at in the mirror in front of me is a kid who looks to be about 10 years old with short blonde hair and deep-blue eyes.

So again, this is not me I am looking at it.

Yet, it is me as well.

"What the hell is this?" I questioned.

Then as soon as I did so I moved my hands to the side of my head and collapsed to my knees. Because a sudden and searing pain has just begun.

As I rolled back and forth on the floor images flashed through my mind.

No, not just images but memories.

As quickly as the memory flashes started they came to an end.

Once they did so I felt a peace I didn't before. Like a part of me that was missing returned and now I am whole again.

There's no other way I can describe this feeling.

Moving on.

Once the memory flashes stopped I finally realized the truth of my situation.

That I had died.

Then after death I somehow was given a second chance at life.

As a huge nerd and a fan of Japanese manga, anime, and videogames, especially of the isekai variety normally I would be jumping for joy at this very moment. I mean dying and being reincarnated is a dream many have. I'll admit even I thought what it would be like several times before, and now here I am.

But things aren't so simple.

That is because the body I am now calling my own belongs to a young man named Leon Arclight. Who is a major villain in a game I recently played called Cosmic Conqueror.

It's a bishoujo game with a classic do-gooder protagonist that overcomes several trials and tribulations and collects a harem of beautiful woman to be by his side along the way.

A friend of mine recommended it to me and I finally got around to playing it.

Once I did I finally understood why so many people gave the game such stellar reviews on the forums.

Unlike most bishoujo games Cosmic Conqueror is an RPG-style game that is open world. Not only that, but Cosmic Conqueror also takes place in a futuristic setting, where humans travel the stars and there are several cosmic star nations.

Though there are no aliens.

Even so, that doesn't take away from the games aesthetics.

Personally I think it only adds to them. Along with the unique fighting-system which allows the player to command entire fleets of ships during battle.

That is by far one of my favorite parts of the game.

I got so into the game I stayed up all night playing it, completing all the routes.

Which was quite easy considering I browsed the wiki page several times beforehand.

Cosmic Conqueror has some serious worldbuilding associated with it, and I am always one for good worldbuilding.

But back to the point.

I managed to complete the final route last night, and when I did I saw the sun was rising.

So since I didn't have anything else to do and I felt like I would pass out if I didn't get some sleep I went straight to bed, and now here I am.

In the body of one of the games major villain's and bosses.

Leon Arclight.

In the game he was a major asshole. The son of a high-ranking family he had a chip on his shoulder and constantly used his position to get away with all sorts of crap as well bully and degrade others, especially the two capture targets associated with him.

One was his fiancé.

A young woman named Reina Trifas, who was a nice and sweet girl.

But Leon treated her as nothing more than a prop. He would constantly belittle her and verbally abuse her. As well as chastise her for talking to other males, despite the fact Leon himself was playing around with several women. He expected complete and utter obedience from Reina.

The second target associated with him was his personal maid/bodyguard named Charlotte Blanc.

Who had things much worse than Reina.

From a young age Charlotte was by Leon's side. So she had to put up with his nasty personality a lot longer.

The game never explicitly stated things, but it was heavily implied that Leon was physically and sexually abusing Charlotte.

Yeah, Leon is the worst kind of scum.

So it's no wonder all three of his endings in the game were bad ones.

1. He loses his position within his family and is sent into exile, never allowed to return home.

2. He tries to betray his homeland to another nation, and ends up caught and imprisoned for the rest of his life.

3. The protagonist kills him alongside Reina and Charlotte.

No matter what happened in the game Leon never won, and I was happy about that considering his personality.

But now I am scared shitless.

Since fate somehow thought placing my soul in Leon's body was a good idea.

I definitely don't want to experience any of his bad endings.

Which means as soon as possible I need to get to work changing things so I can avoid any of that shit.

Now I don't know why I was given this second chance at life, but there is no way I am going to let it end early. No, I intend to enjoy it to the fullest.

And I won't let anyone or anything stop me from doing so.

Not even some lousy death routes.

My resolve to change my fate firm I began to stand to my feet.

Only for my vision to turn dark and for me to collapse onto the ground.
